0:50 hey hey heyyyy now... That is not an Enterprise beauty shot. That is a K'tinga beauty shot. Glad it was included though, SNW really gave those a glow up just like they did Enterprise.

Yes, I did it on purpose, I also included the farragut combat scene in the other SNW video. The new k'tinga design looks very good but I think it was created for Discovery
Also for the record, initially I had mixed feelings about the way they decided the "nacelles" of the K'tinga were actually guns. Having had some time to adjust though, I think it's a pretty cool adaptation to the source material. Like, hell yeah, they're Klingons, so *of course* the things we thought were engines are actually weapons. They're not explorers, they're warriors.

@@zeph0shade th-cam.com/video/kM3F9-aXw7k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UXZkqT04hgixTI8h At 4:16 in this video you can see a D7 firing from its nacelles. Although I don't know if they did that before the remastered edition. Also the new nacelle looks a lot more like a gun
The lighting and texture in the first space dock scenes are so much better than how dark and reflective it looks later. Only changes I would make to this model is straight pylons like TOS and then making the hull color lighter and less reflective to brighten up the ship.
Let me pitch it to you: What if Hazbin Hotel, but literally triple the musical numbers and no self-control over joining in the song and the lyrics. Honestly it's a great episode just for the first song alone.
Why the heck did they change the neck section to look more curvy in the season 2 version? I'd love some changes towards the TOS Enterprise look as the show progresses, like straight nacelle pylons. But it looks like they're probably going with more of a Kelvin timeline look now.
The ship looks lovely, just wish they wouldn't keep using shadows on her. Let's see the colour, stop making her look dark and broody, bright and gleaming.
1:07 This ship is a Crossfield Class. Despite the segmented saucer section, it actually looks like a Starfleet ship. Why the hell does the Discovery not look like this?

Ironically, it's not a starfleet ship, it's made by Klingon and federation renegades, so maybe they made something similar to a crossfield but not quite the same
It appears to be a kitbashed starship, with some elements of the Crossfield Class (the long, tapered nacelles) that were incorporated into the ship, along with design elements from other Starfleet ships. It’s quite impressive.
2:07 *THE Enterprise Sorry, but I hate it when they refer to the ship without the definitive article, really throws me out of the scene, for some reason
The movements look so fake. I get that TOS enterprise had its funny movements but they were due to the time, seeing the enterprise move like an actual vessel in Discovery to the more TOS movements here is kinda disgusting
The models are nice, very nice, but the texturing, the lighting, reflections, materials, it looks fake as fuck. It looks worse than TNG from 30 years ago, its like a computer game. Also why is everything so dark? Federation ships should be light grey. I wish they would stop this crappy art direction.
Love the show, but how offensively CGI the ships looks is a real disapointment. Someone somewhere has to have said "let's make this look fake as hell"...
Gross. Dark and shiny. I don’t understand how these clearly visual reboots masquerade themselves as Prime Universe. I’m a gay man, grateful for a bit of representation and diversity, but SecretHideOut suck in every way.

for a ship the size of a skyscraper, it's surprisingly maneuverable.
I should hope so, this far in the future with tech that hasn’t even been invented yet. I wouldn’t get on a ship that size if it wasn’t manoeuvrable.
Check out Star Trek: Picard series finale; at the hands of Data the 1701-D is crazy maneuverable inside of the Borg cube.
Again it's operating in space duh

@ I'm pretty sure the D7s did fire from the nacelles in non-remastered TOS.

Subspace rhapsody is the one episode of SNW I've not watched, so 3:48 was absolutely hilarious to me

Two Constitution Class Starships (USS Enterprise and USS Cayuga) at 02:03?
Yes, but the Cayuga could be a Sombra class (looks the same, has a smaller crew and is supposedly faster) like the ship in S1 E09
@Wow, thanks.
@ The Cayuga is another Constitution.
This makes me want to watch SNW seasons 1 & 2 all over again to hype up for season 3.
So glad they gave her a coat of paint by Kirk's time.

Wish they would use the beam phasers more. Other than that, a beautiful design that looks terrific on screen.
I agree and I also wish they'd use the blue ones that they had in discovery (and TOS)
@ Well, TOS jumped all over the place with phaser beam colors. lol
Thank you!

Seems like im the only one who don't like the grey dirty look of the ship and in general. Just make it white like the original
I think it depends on the lighting because in some scenes (like when she's in planetary atmosphere) it looks light grey
The original was battleship grey. It was grey until TMP. That's when they made the hull white.
I’m still not keen on the saucer windows and I don’t like that they made the neck curved in season 2, but she’s still a beauty
I agree with you 100%, it's also too texture-y and rough. Just total overkill.
It was never actually white white, that's due to the over exposed film, etc.
