Don't got to be a veteran to relate to the song, hats off to those that serve, much respect, same respect to those who face their demons everyday, gotta show up to make it through.
Im a navy veteran of the Gulf war and I experienced life as it was. Get up and do my job or don't and loose everything. That's every person that walks through this life. So if you can enjoy the small things and get through tuff times then you are doing alright!
I’m not putting down any person who gets up and does the deal everyday I’m just putting emphasis on the common bond the military personnel have. Hats off to ANYONE That doesn’t give up!!
I lost my Dad in Vietnam when I was 18 months old. I have so much love & respect for all our service men (& women) who served & sacrificed. If any of you are reading this, thank you so much for your sacrifices....of which I know you've made countless. May GOD bless each & every one of you over & over again. Much love & respect from East Texas 💖 And thank you, Joe Nichols, for bringing more awareness 💖
a broken Marine says thanks to all those folks on here that took time out of their day to post something positive. that's the message here. thank you all so much.
Thank you for this song sir. You stood for our great country, fighting for the safety of all of us. You did a wonderful job and continue to. I may not be in your shoes. But all the lyrics in your song. Like looking up in the sky and crying saying "Thank you for 1 more day." Patting myself on the back, each time I have a little win. It's the little things. Just like you sing... I'm doin alright for the shape I'm in!
His book Lone Survivor is outstanding it really shows the bond the we have in the military and shows the lengths we will go for our buddy's, teammates, and brothers if you have not read it I strongly suggest it this man did some amazing things in afghanistan and for this country and we should all learn for him and the selflessness he has shown along with the rest of the men in this video
Amen~I had the honor of meeting him when he spoke at our meeting at Notre Dame and I cried so hard that I could hardly shake his hand after he left the stage. I cheriesh the book he gave me, and he signed it! God Bless every one of our military.
My bro in law is on his 6th deployment in the middle east. Anybody that has that much dedication is a hero. Hr is the inspiration that pushes me. If hr can do that, love my sister, and come home safe every time, I cam do anything.
It seems the older I get, the more I'm affected by our military. Just seeing Marcus gave me goose bumps. Lone Survivor was an amazing book. Well worth the read. God bless the men and women who serve.
my brother is in Afghanistan right now, he's a marine. for all those who believe in our boys and girls over there half-way 'round the world, let me get a big OORAHHHHHHH!!!!!
I know this is a song about vets and all respect. But as an adult today that came from poverty violence and addiction I feel this and it has been my feel-good song for years.
I wanna say thank you to ALL of our service men, women & their families for your service & all of your sacrifices of it wasn't for you & people like you. We wouldn't be here!
After i got out of the service it was hard to adjust to the civilian world because most of my family did not i understand the things i had been through and how i felt and this song just calms me down and really helps me look at the upside of my life and thank god im still here to be here for my wife and daughter
Thank you for comment. I feel the same way. If ur Marine, "Semper Fi" brotha. If not, well. Everyone can't be a Marine, smile. Thanks for having my back. Blessing to you and your family.

Thank you veterans first off. Second, I went to a JN concert in Sioux Falls SD, he thanked the veterans for their service and was an absolute awesome time

I don't know if the veteran at the beginning will see this but to all those veterans that do, I want to personally thank you for your service and the the sacrifices you make to protect me and my family as well as this great nation, with that I again say THANK YOU.
My dad died the day before my birthday. Its not what I ever thought would come true. He was drafted and made it back with only 1 other guy in his platoon. It was real hard taking care of him he was only 62 and died the day before my birthday. He always had everones back, somtimes I wish he went to Canada. Miss him. xoxo
Marcus Latrell spoke at our meeting a few years back and all I wanted to do after he spoke was hug himl I read his book, AMAZING. What an honor to have met him. God Bless him to come to Notre Dame to speak.
My grandfather was my hero a 28 yr senior master sgt!Air force But thank you all girls and boys for everything you do .Maybe one day you guys will get a president to be proud of!
My dad died March 5th 2020 and my mom died April 1st 2020 this song and Marcus Lutrell message makes me believe i can push on to the next day. My dad was a 20 year Naval Veteran and 20 year Norfolk Naval Shipyard Electrican he was the toughest worker i know and miss him dearly.
I lost a hell of lot of friends. But I'm doing all right for the shape I'm in. Life is what it is, but if you work hard you can make it better. Your friends would want you to. At least that is what they tell me in my dreams...that used to be nightmares, but now are comforting...and they love my two sweet grand daughters and so do I, they are my reason for living.
if this doesn't make you appreciate our military, i dont know what will. what great video and thanks to all of the service men and women for what they do. this makes me thankful for the shape im in because of them.
My brother is in Afghanistan right now in the Army. He's not only my brother but my best friend and hero. He is a great man. I have a ton of ppl I care about in the military. I solute our soldiers.
these 16 people who disliked this need to go serve a year in iraq. my dad has been there on 3 different tours, and i worried everyday if he was safe or not. this is an amazing song. special thankyou for all the men and women who lay their lives down so we can be free!!!
God bless our country & bless our men & women in uniform. It doesn't matter where you're fighting, you signed up to put yourself in harms way for us & for others. I have the deepest respect for ALL of our veterans, especially those who come back
To all the men and women and their families who serve, have served and have given the ultimate sacrifice of life. A simple “Thank You” doesn’t come close to enough to express the gratitude and respect and love I have for you. Life is all about choices and because of your dedication and commitment and service, as an American, I’m allowed and privileged to have them. Thank You from the bottom of my heart!
This song reminds me of a good friend no longer with us, he was a badass marine went served war and came back changed, life wasn’t easy for him and he was troubled but he found God in his final days, amen 🙏
He actually met and had pictures with Marcus Latrell on the last base the seals stopped at before going on the mission, oh God have mercy on us for the things we done for Freedom and what we think is right.
Levon Helm and The Band were great... This is a Great tribute to our American Hero's and what they deal with.. No matter what people may think.. Poor excuse and comment from one especially ..Country Music tell's life's stories and personal experience's... Some people aren't smart enough to realize That ...
God truly bless those who sacrificed their bodies, minds, and families, so that the rest of us can live in freedom. May we never forget the gifts and blessings we have been afforded by their selflessness.
I came here looking for this song to listen to it so I could learn to sing and play it... the song means a lot to me..I lost a good woman..Im barely getting by, not because of her, but just as a single parent and dealing with a still very harsh economy..I had to sell my old fastback mustang to keep a roof over mine and my sons head but I still remember the mornings taking it out for a spin. Somehow Im doin alright. I cried watching this video, thank you US troops for our freedom, come home safe.
Respect to the men and women of our armed forces, for standing in harm's way, every day, so we don't have to. Respect to those wounded or killed in the line of duty. Respect to Joe Nichols for using this video to pay tribute to those who carry on. Life is good today!
Thanks to all who served to keep me safe and free. I am forever grateful and sorry for those of you who came back physically injured. I know several vets especially fro Nam, and not one of them was unaffected. God bless each and every one of you...Ed
who ever fuckin disliked this needs to stop and understand what these men have gave up and lost for u. there lives will never be the same and u dont ever hear them complain or ask u to do for u. this is one dang good song
Joe, I hope you had a good time at Mister 's Bar in East Aroura. I heard about it on the radio from Clay and Co. Friday morning. Sorry I didn't get to see you.
After watching this video id like to say thank you to all the brave men and women who served in the military to make sure we keep our freedom in America. To all the families who loss someone in the military i am truly sorry for your loss. You know if you love something strongly enough you will fight to keep it, I thank all those men and women who loved freedom and fought for me in world war 2. My world would be a very different world if it wasn't for them and I remember them every year. And the service men and women today deserve our respect because if we didn't have people prepared to do what they do our world would be very different. Thank you Joe for remembering.
i hope to serve in the military very soon once i graduate high school... because i want serve and have honor.. because 3 years ago my cousin who served in the military died.. R.I.P Vang

Thank U Mr Luttrell, I have read all I can about you and everthing you have done for this country. My hats off to you sir, this world would be so much better if there were more folks like yourself.
Great song for the men who gave up some shit for the country...it’s a good reminder for me not to worry about little shit that happens to us in our day to day. If these guys can get out of bed, we have a obligation to put a smile on our faces and put our shoulders back and live life to the fullest. Semper fi gents
Dont bother with trying to change anyones opinion of who the real heros are or what they do for us. These are the same people that use every freedom we share to work the system and then complain when things get a little tough for them, or they have to get a little dirty taking responsibility for what they do. Respect, Honor and a true sense of putting God, our country and what it means to be an American is lost on them.
This song is thee song that can touch people in the heart and make people strong. Never give up and most of importantly never give up Hope because its the only thing we had when we face life is what i think this song is trying to say.
