These older songs bring back so much memories of my dad in the 99 dodge ram. This song has always reminded me of my mother and how she abandoned me, my dad, and my older sister for some guy half her age and has kids with him and abandon them too. I guess all of us have a song that reminds us of our parents and this one just reminds me of the horrible woman I unforntunly have to call my mother. I met him in person last year. he is by far the best guy i have ever met. he sat and had a conversation with me like i was his friend. something i'll never forget. love you joe 👍🏼
I met him for about a minute when he was at our county fair, 2006 I think it was. I was the dork on crutches. I shook his hand, but I couldn’t speak! My voice totally froze ! To this day I think at one point he was trying to give me his hat but I didn’t realize at the time. I remember some girl threw her bra on the stage and when he saw it he blushed. I asked my mom after if she’d noticed what I did and she said she did- he’d had eyes on me through a lot of the concert, and when he sang “I’ll wait for you” when he gets to the part where he speaks the word sweetheart, he looked STRAIGHT at me. My mom even saw it. Damn I felt special that night. Even though I was the 21 year old dork in braids and on crutches.

Joe Nichols is the real deal. He is the best singer in Country Music. His voice is phenomenal. I just he could receive the recognition. He so richly deserves. A young, handsome soldier taught me how to do the Cowboy ChaCha to this song. I can't count how many times Cowboys in CS played it. And we didn't miss a one. This song always makes me think of my now ex husband and all the good times I had dancing with him when we met before he deployed to the war in Iraq. When he came home on midtour leave in 2005 we got to see you at Cheyenne Frontier Days. That was such an awesome week. We fell in love dancing to this song. I don't miss him, just that wonderful time in my life.
