I wanted to try a pistol with a ported barrel. Porting doesn't require any difficult machining. I have access to a mill and I have machining experience, and my dad is a retired machinist. together we ported my CZ P-10F. It was a super fun project and the results are great! More pistol porting content to come!

Here because the P10F, love mine and of course, the ports. Good informative video
Doesn’t look “home made” at all. Very nice. I think this may be a good modification to the new Taurus TS9, further minimizing muzzle flip beyond what its odd action already does.
I would like to see all of your work
God damn it now i gotta get on the mill and start drilling holes in my P10
I ported 2 firearms so far and I agree with you bro they are worth the time and work 100%. Definitely a fan of barrel ports
I am really pleased with the performance! I ported my P-01 too. It was so cool to be able to shoot them before and after and feel the difference. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It looks pretty easy good job
Angled / side ports are generally regarded to be the best compromise to minimize muzzle flip while mitigating excessive gas and powder flash that may rise to obstuct the sight picture when shooting.
Makes sense. They could be drilled at a narrow angle too to maximize the vertical force component. In terms of shooting at daytime, I didn't notice any issue with my red dot or target being obstructed. The flash and gas are so fast I didn't even notice them when I was target focused. I suppose I could see how it would be a little more of an issue in low light conditions or with night vision.
Excellent work!
Great job brother
Thanks for sharing!
Maaaan this is rapidly becoming one of my favorite channels. Amazing job all around.
Really appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching and commenting!
excellent series of videos, congratulations
Thanks so much!
Sooooooo, how much you charging and where do I need to send my F to? Professional looking job man. Combining two of my favorite things in one video too, guns and machining. Killing it
Thanks so much! I appreciate the kind words. Unfortunetely I am not interested in turning this into a business venture haha. There are plenty of shops out there that offer porting service on the P-10. I would absolutely recommend it! I was blown away by the increase in performance on this already flat shooting pistol.
Man bro you did an excellent job!! Bravo 👏
Much appreciated!
Thanks for your effort!
This is amazing work.
nice work
Dude you are killing it with your content!
Thanks man! I really appreciate that!
Awesome video thanks for sharing! Great job looks amazing and solid performance improvement well done.
Thanks so much I appreciate it!
Hour and twenty minutes is impressive! Nice Job.
Thanks! If I wasn't dicking around with filming it probably would have been an hour flat haha.
Hell yeaaah, nice work!!! I've always wanted to have either my P10F or G34.5 ported, but I've seen/read of some substantial impact to accuracy at distance.
Hindsight being what it is, it would've been extremely interesting to see accuracy before and after the work was completed.
I havent shown accuracy testing in any video but i always check my zero on my red dot and I can share what Ive see. I did do accuracy testing on my CZ Shadow 2 before and after porting (I just didn't film or take pictures like a dummy). From a bag support at 25 yards I got about a 2 inch group before and after, so no noticeable change there.
The larger the ports, the more my zero shifts. I chunk ported my springfield Hellcat and POI shifted like 6-8 inches low at 15 yards. On my P-01 and this P-10 impact shift was minimal, maybe 1 inch max at 15 yards. On my Shadow 2, impact shift was not noticeable.
What I have observed with all the porting jobs I have done is that smaller port size disrupts the bullet less, and will affect POI and accuracy less. So if you want to get a pistol ported, I would recommend small diameter ports, like 1/8" or less.
Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@dltz Fantastic, thanks for the follow up!
Nice video👍👏
Looks great & makes sense. I bet it shoots great. 👍🏻 If CZ is smart, they would offer this option from the factory!
Its really awesome with the ports!
Fantástico
Great video… you think of offering this as a service? Would love to get my p10-F done the exact same way
Thanks, I appreciate it. Sorry no, not going to be offering this as a service. I just do this for fun.
🙌🏼😮
Great job, it was awesome seeing the work in action thank you!!
Not gonna lie, I freaked out a bit when I saw 3 hands in the video 😅. Great video nonetheless
😆😆 hahaha I said I was machining it with my dads help!
Three hands would be cool😂😂😂
@@Maurice3774 Three arms would be sick... it would be.... handy... if you will 😂
Winder if i get do it to a p10c
Nice. Does the stike maggwell work with all mag baseplates? Any that it does not work with?
Strike magwell works with all the baseplates I have, It worked with the factory baseplates just fine. I have some springer precision and factory base plates. I have modified the factory base plates. It shares mags with my P-09 which I have a springer precision magwell on and needed to modify them for that.
Did you consider moving the barrel bushing for a chunk port?
This gun does not have a barrel bushing. I would have had to move the front sight which I did not want to do. That's why I did the inline port behind the front sight.
So you made your barrel way shorter... why not buy the threaded barrel and use a compensator ? I suppose you have many guns and this is just for some competition ?
Barrel is the same length. I did not bore out the rifling up to the ports. Its rifled all the way. Slight reduction in bullet velocity obviously, and I have not done the testing myself but from what I've seen the velocity loss is usually less than 50fps. A lot of times even less and within the standard deviation of the ammo.
I have a threaded barrel for this gun I use with a supressor. Compensators add a bit of length on an already full sized longer barrel.
No i dont compete. This is just for fun and because i can haha.
Could you post which bits you used with your press please?
Small center drill, 5/32" drill bit, four flute carbide 1/4" endmill.
Would you be willing to do my P10F barrel and slide? If so how much would you charge?
I appreciate your interest in my work! But sorry, I am just doing this for fun and don't want to turn it into a business.
Where did you find those grip panel covers?
They are just talon grips. Got them on Amazon.
So you did the ports themselves woth a 5/32 bit and the window at a quarter inch wide but how long did you make the window?
While I am of course not encouraging anyone to modify their firearms.... Here are links to my fully dimensioned drawing:

Of course not, why would anyone do such a thing to a thing such as a firearm.. thank you. I'm gonna go mess around on the mill with supervision now.
Not being sarcastic or judging but why did your port your P-10F? I find the P-10 series of pistols very soft shooting anyway. You actually did very nice work, by the way. Maybe for competitive shooting?
Rewatch the first 16 seconds of the video. I do not compete. I just do this for fun. Its what I like to do in my spare time. P-10F was already a great shooting gun. Now its better.
@@dltz Do you have any issues with particles or gas blowing back into your face? I've never been a fan of porting for this reason alone. Also, it does affect shooting suppressed.
@@rotadyma No issues with gas or particulate. Its a bit more noisy and concussive but not terrible, not much worse than a comped pistol. Shooting a pistol with a ported barrel suppressed would be pointless. You wouldn't be suppressing the noise and flash coming from the ports. I would never port a pistol that I would run suppressed, and I would never suppress a ported pistol.
Are you willing to port for potential customers??
Nope. Just doing this for fun on my pistols.
You dont have to pay extra, risk your gun to shipping. Buy the Glock G17C. Glock engineering and quality.
Congratulations on great work, no easy task 👍
That doesn't solve anything. Infact, you're losing some really excellent features if you go with Glock in terms of ergonomics, trigger pull, out of box capacity, and high-quality sights.
Will you port my G21?
No sir, sorry, I just do this for fun.
You no ever one has opinion so I will give you mine for me I would have went out each side so you don't get that flash at nite imo.
I have done some V-porting at this point. Same amount of flash, just in a slightly different direction. I have not shot any of these at night yet, that would be an interesting test, and I plan on doing to at some point. So I am not going to comment on the night time performance, I also don't run night vision, nor have any experience with it.
Here is an interesting video from Sage dynamics (i think this guy is legit, very experienced instructor) where he addresses the muzzle flash from shooting ported pistols. The Glock 17C he uses has a V-port configuration. Testing starts at 2:04:

Here is another video from him addressing low light shooting and it does include a discussion and testing of night vision at the end (20:48):

If you're curious what the flame coming out of a V-port looks like, my newer video on an M&P 5" has V ports - although a narrow V angle, 30 degrees between ports. I include some of the same black background slow motion footage with a still of the fireball. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Would you be interested in doin another p10c like you did yours.
@@billystephens9255 No sir. I appreciate your interest, but I dont want to turn this into a business.
sheeeeeesh just wow. Amazing work brotha. Looking into getting a c or f soon 🤙🫡🥶
Much appreciated man! Highly recommend the P10. It's a fantastic pistol!
