- This project is a salt cellar, or keepsake/trinket box, made from a piece of English Walnut. The wood is from a tree planted by my great-grandfather on my aunt's place.

i've been looking around in local shops trying to find a salt cellar, and none of them are at all satisfying. i think i might make one. your video has inspired me. thank you sir
Thanks for watching!
Came late to your party 'cuz I just found this vid, now that it's a year old. Excellent job! Bradding the pivot pin head is such a great idea I'm gonna have to swipe it! Well turned!
Thank you! Though I can't take credit for the idea, I swiped it from someone else! 😁
Very nice work, pleasure to watch!
Thank you!
Beautiful. Great job. I'll take 2.😀😀

Nicely done. Very pretty.
Thank you!
Very nice!! I am being given some english walnut, I hope it looks as good as your project turned out!
Thanks! I haven't actually had the chance to work any trunk wood, just a big limb, so hopefully you get some with either a lot of heart wood or lots of figure/character.
Wes, that is a beautiful piece of wood! Love it!
Thanks!
Lovely finish and wow the character in that wood Like & SUB
Thank you!
Nice job, beautiful piece of wood.
Thank you!
That turned out very nice. Good job. I was wondering, have you used this technique with the brass pin before? And if you did, does it hold up well or does it loosen up after time? I’m just curious because it’s a pretty slick idea and I would like to try it out sometime.
Thanks! I have used the brass pin in one other salt cellar, and it does loosen a little, but not so bad that it doesn't function, the hole in the wood just wears a little. I didn't come up with the idea, I saw another turner do it.
Awеsome work. Likеd аnd subscribеd 👍😊
Thank you!
That annoying music…
Ehhh, can't please everyone. Thanks for watching!
