In this video I coach a Zerg player in the Zerg vs Terran and the Zerg vs Protoss matchup specifically.
OldWhovian started playing 1v1 on the ladder last season, and has been climbing the ladder steadily since. However, he's running into a few issues when it comes to spending, unit compositions and scouting information.

fun lore fact for geeks: Overlord are a supply structure but in the lore sense they don't supply the zerg with food or energy but what they do is expand the range and power of the hivemind. Every single zerg organism is controlled through a telepathic hive mind to work together under the Leader's command and Overlords are basically giant, flying brains with psionic power that act as radio towers to transmit orders to the other zerg. The Leader of the zerg transmits orders to the Overlords and they relay those orders to smaller groups of zerg. Its all part of a huge radio network, but instead of radio singles its telepathic thoughts and images.
So when you are at maximum supply in the game it isn't because you don't have enough food to sustain the zerg but its because the hivemind is at its limit and can't control any more zerg(or can but less potent) and as such Overlords are required to expand the control of the hive mind and allow for more Zerg units to be produced without the risk of losing control.

after watching the first 3minutes, i'd like to appreciate this guys voice (not lowko).. often when you see lessons on streams or videos the coached person has this mediocre/normal headset which is fine for anything normal people do, but feels just bad for streaming and videos. made this video so much more enjoyable :) have blessed holidays and a happy new year ev'rryone!

I would honestly watch a Lowko/OldWhovian regular feature. Got a good dynamic going on.
Would love to have a series of 3 min videos called "reading your enemy" and do small explanations like at 53:22. Have which balance patch and a little on the meta and why certain scouting info lets you assume certain things.
That's a very good idea. You can find this kind of information on sc2swarm.com > ZvP > Standard Roach ZVP > And after that you can find explanation of what you should do relating to your scouting. The number of gas taken on main and natural , timing of the Third (should be 5:00) is also a very good indicator if a 2 base aggression is coming.
However those kind of very precise key informations start to make sens around High Plat at least. Below that you just face a lot of weird shit that make no sens and can kill you if you don't play Safe.

I don't have that kinda problem, since I just always make a viper or two somehow. It's the widow mines that are gonna be my doom, pretty whack.
The original reason that man was put there was because he always had to remind other Blizzard employees to include the correct image files in their submissions. He decided to automate that process by making his face into the placeholder. If you work at Blizzard seeing his face means: "Yeah, you fucked up. Go correct that."
This coaching just improved my game, I have won a lot of games against terran after watching this and trying it in my games.

Lowko, very nice set up! I have to get back to you because I have never played the Game and I'm constructing theories based on Nintendo 64 Brood War. The Zerg are most impressing. Quite a few years ago, it was said that the Terran dominates Starcraft 2. I would never discount the tacticians but then I don't play the game or strategize the way they do, or have ever did.On my own I had discovered that the Terran ruled the Brood War, and I didn't find anything really wrong with the Default values, positives and negatives. Rather network errors could determine the outcome of the Game. Then after I had reviewed what the Pro's were doing, well, we all had agreed that the Terran ruled the Brood War based on Map and positioning, you know the whole 9 yards. Here, I'm not so sure that the technicians are correct. The Zerg is really looking great to me, and again, I haven't played at all, rather just looking at some things! O', the Default values work, but I haven't seen the kind of Map that the Terran can manipulate without the Firebat that could protect the entire Base. The 3 Units Reaper, Marauder, and Helleon (and Hellbat) equal and have replaced the Brood War Firebat, none of which can Protect the Base alone, lacking a 'Detector'. And the Map doesn't allow for a single Marine to protect against the Protoss Zealot. You know, Brood War #s of Zealots were held off with one Marine behind a wall #s of supply depots. It gets deep. I've got to focus on Zerg in theory, so I'm looking for a Commentary that's Fluid and applicable. Good Luck (Again, nice!)

I like this. I have seen coaching on csgo and they guy that was coaching was not giving ways to improve, he was just complaining like ohh you did not do this right and he was really nitpicking to extend the video. This is nice, you are telling him how to improve and you are not really nitpicking. Nice video ;D
I could use some pointers as well. Been playing random since 1999, but now I am focusing on Zerg. I really want to reach master in 1v1. Great video here that I can take away some notes^^

I am new and I noticed that roach ravager with bane is very easy to win with, I commonly send in all my banelings first to deal some damage and then I send in the main army and just target fire

Is this a sub thing? I haven't watched many live streams in the past year and I've been using youtube as an outlet for Starcraft. is this a sub reward thing to get coached by him or is it a long request list?
The stream was on Twitch too, and twitch works differently. To get money, you have people subscribe to you, which costs money to do. The longer your subscribed, the more money it costs for them but the more money you get. I hope that makes sense.

the 2nd game is the exact situation i got myself into when i'm laddering, my opponent suddenly when for battlecruiser harass and killed a lot of drones. but luckily i had enough units to counter attack and make it even in worker count. after that, i just continue playing like it was a standard macro game.

I’ve started droning no matter what my opponent does, some times it gets me killed but a lot of the time it helps me a lot. Started in gold 3 and I’m in plat 1 now. Obviously ignoring your opponent isn’t a good strategy for high level but drones are best unit.
I'm sad, i had a pretty good/funny game to send you but at the end, the guy had to leave so he surrended without a real end...

32:23 one more thing he could have done when the BC hit him.. He could have gone immediately for the counter attack with all his lings and bane.. Since the Terran delayed him self a lot by going straight into BC.. And didn't invest much in anything else... You can see the army supply for the Terran it's 13 and 6 caught up in the BC.

What would be your advice if at the start they send all there terran drones to take out your zerg drones? Cuz it cought me off guard
Easiest way to make it to Diamond 3....12 pool and 5 seconds before your 6 ling's are done, send all your workers to the enemy base, and rally your ling's there as well. You'll have around 300 minerals floating, so keep spending on more ling's and make a spine if the enemy is Z. I made Diamond 3 on that strategy alone.
Does it work in every map or just short ones?
Makes me want to learn how to play zerg.

zerg are OP. Faster on supply, better macro, faster units, banelings are insane, mutalisk can fire on the ground and on air, corruptors adduction is crazy.......to me they are totally OP.

That's not bad, you'll probably hit diamond in another month if you're constantly looking at your own replays and correcting mistakes
Sounds damn good actually. I (accidentally) touched plat after ~half a hear of play, then stayed in gold until solidified it after another half a year.
