Thanks! Just adding that if you drop that final air duct via 2 more easily findable screws, you don't have to mangle the filter on the way back in... I realize sometimes its intimidating to remove more than you were anticipating, or maybe its just to save time, but it takes 2 more minutes to drop that duct and have full access. You dont have to bend the retaining bracket and like I said, no mangling the filter... Just putting that out there.

It is fairly easy to remove that long duct that is in the way, it is just held up by two torq 20 screws.

Filters the air recirculating in the cabin when you have re circulation selected on the dash. A foul smell is most likely condensation somewhere because of blocked drains... But try the filter first. If its ancient then maybe you're smelling it...

Thanks. Does the E90 have interior filters like this?

No, it does not. There is one in the engine bay area. Here is a link to the E90 Cabin Filter

    Would this work on a 2011 bmw x6 xdrive35i

This video spends a lot of time where nothing is happening, and then the parts of actually getting the filter installed without damaging it (by doing the shortcut and not removing the lower duct) is cut out of the video. And for the bottom clip, the same - one never sees it being unclipped, or reclipped. Those are cut out.

This looks like pure BMW engineering: how can we make regular maintenance double the price of a regular car?
