    Great video George, we watched it here in Australia and loved it. we have an 07 X5 E70 3.0d with the m57TU2. I'd love to see content on 1) diagnosing a wining sound from the front diff; 2) front diff oil change process; 3) transfer case oil change; 4) rear diff oil change; 5) front and rear diff rebuild (seals); 6) front and rear wheel bearing replacement; 7) transmission mount replacement; 8) dpf delete; 9) water pump replacement; 10) AC belt replacement (has no tensioner so is different; 11) intercooler removal and clean process; 12) diagnosing blue smoke if left to idle too long (turbo shaft seal or drain pipe blockage); 13) glow plug module replacement; 14) tailshaft guibo replacement; 15) m57TU2 timing chain guide replacement; 16) ZF6HP auto service (Inc mechatronic sleeves); 17) full suspension refresh (all bushings, swaybar links, upper+lower arms); 18) thermostat replacement; 19) waterpump replacement; 20) EGR delete. keep up the great work!

    Hey George. Congratulations on the new project. Wish you all the best in working on it. I have a 2009 e70 30d. So pretty much the same thing. So far I have done the ffg with my indy: damper pulley, idler, tensioner and belts. Rear shocks and shock mount bushings. Front shock mount bushings and sway bar links. Front brake pads. Coolant flush, power steering flush. Oil and air filter services. New battery, egr blanking, dpf removal and stage 1 software. It's been a pleasure to drive so far and has been of value in extreme weather conditions. Next on my to do list is the cabin and circulation filters, brake fluid flush, front shocks and tyres and transfer case fluids.

    • @johnconnor513
      @johnconnor513 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot to mention that I have a sunroof drain issue. The front left side is blocked and when it rains I get water in the front left foot well. Wet carpets are not fun. Will have to jack up the car and take the wheel arch liner off and clear them out. Simply couldn't get any joy with any other methods.

    • @johnconnor513
      @johnconnor513 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@verdej2057 I did not have a squeaky belt, mines had a whine. Sounded like alternator pulley or supercharger kind of whine. Changed the idler and tensioner and the problem went away. Yours could be water pump on its way out. I've heard of them squealing when the brushes are worn-out. Have you been getting engine temperature warnings on the idrive?

    • @johnconnor513
      @johnconnor513 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@verdej2057 The egr blanking yielded a minor and almost unnoticeable performance gain, it also had a small positive effect on fuel economy. Or at least the l/km seemed to decrease a small amount. I like the fact that there is less soot going into my intake. But bear in mind that the engine will take longer to get up to proper operating temperature after blanking the egr. I did not need to tune it after doing the egr but I did need to tune it after the dpf removal. After the tune it runs beautifully. Boost comes in at 1750rpm instead of 2000rpm and the peak boost is higher. This has helped with fuel efficiency and power.

    There is a drain plug on the radiator. It is on the left hand side, right on the bottom. A blue plug that you can undo with a 13mm socket, flathead or phillips head screwdriver.
    Went looking for a video on how to do a coolant flush, found this, clicked through to the coolant flush section and noticed you mentioned that you removed a million parts to do the flush.

      300k and you have to replace timing chain on M57.

      I’m looking at car and they guy says timing chain was changed at 100k miles as owner wanted to keep it. Has invoice . I’m a bit concerned why as they last 150-200k miles?
