    The rules are no throwing the ball no kicking the ball

      well they arent able to slide because the floor is hard. usually its just dirt in the ground so that they are able to slide

      There are 100s of different rules for this game. Different courts usually dictate the rules. For example, a court like this is clearly small and made for casual simpler games.
      Also, the most common rules are not "No kicking and no throwing" but actually "hip contact only" which is a big difference I should note. (as this doesn't allow head, knee, or elbow contact).
      Also throwing the ball is sort of like serving and in the most common games that's how it was likely done.
      Some rules and courts don't allow the ball to ever touch the ground, this is usually seen in less steep walled courts like this one. Where some courts and rules allow the ball to bounce (one of the rules they are clearly incorporating). Some courts even allow the ball to roll, this was usually on the largest courts with grass or dirt. These courts would allow you to jump or slide.
