    i saw U2 live in 1987 in Philadelphia USA on the Joshua Tree Tour. Best concert of my life. They were so powerful emotionally and the music was so majestic that 80,000 of us singing along in unison felt like a religious experience.

    Red Rocks is in the States. It's a natural amphitheatre if I'm not mistaken.

    Thank you very much for your thoughtful and respectful commentary. As an Canadian of Irish-Catholic ancestry, I appreciate your understanding of the sensitivity and complexity of the Northern Irish situation, especially since you're British yourself.

    Red Rocks is about a 20 minute drive from where I live. This performance in particular elevated U2, which showcased how good they are live.
    Check out The Electric Co from Dortmund Germany 1984, or Bad from Live Aid...there's years of tours to choose from.

    Not a fan of U2 but this performance was incredible, rates up there as one of the great live performances.think this was first shown on the tube in the uk in 1983.

      @@gpreactions3194 lots of concerts are staged there due to the natural acoustics (it’s located in a desert canyon area).

    Under a blood red sky is one of the best live albums ever released..... U2 when they still had a punk attitude.... Before image and god complex came into play

    A time when hard-rockers like me got confused. We just gotten used to punk and here comes New Wave. Blimey. We're gonna need a bigger chart to chop down all sub-genres of rock. And this was before the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal struck, bringing along all kinds of sub-genres we couldn't even pronounce. Bleedin' good song though. Glad you chose the live version. Cheerio.

    U2 did a concert in Los Angeles on the rooftop of a business it caused a big commotion. Where the streets have no name. Great video

    About the Irish troubles which were still going on then. And it was all about religion, so the religious people of the IRA were fighting the protestants. That is why we say religion causes wars.

      Yup. I was a little nervous reacting to this one because of the gravity of the subject x

      Ad he states " this is not a rebel song ". Actually it is , just because of the subject. Great song though. Good choice

      Not about religion. It’s about stupid childish humans hating each other

      It was the Irish Republicans fighting against the Ulster Loyalists. Most Republicans ate Catholics and most Loyalista are Proteatant. The Republicans want the reunification of Northern Ireland with the Tepublic of Ireland, while the Unionists want Northern Ireland to remain part of the UK. so, it's mush more complicated than Catholics against Protestants. You're interpretation is inaccurate and overly-simplistic.

    Am sorry but British para troopers shot dead 14 unarmed civilians at a civil right’s March against the Tierney of the British government. It’s only touchy when people will not recognise the evils done that day.

    • @gpreactions3194
      @gpreactions3194  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I only said it was a touchy subject because I thought I might sail pretty close to the line with how my reaction was received. And to be fair, I like songs that carry some historical weight behind them and I have now probably reacted to about 4 tracks relating to Ireland as a whole... Banana Republic by Boomtown Rats, Will you by Hazel O'Connor, The Police Invisible Sun and off course this one. I guess, as a reactor, I didn't want to see my channel erupt into arguments, but I agree with your comment as much as I hope you accept my pre empting of possible resulting heated debate in the comments section of this song.
