Thanks so much, I was looking for a solution exporting my tracks. In the last BigSure update, I wasn't unable to export my tracks so I changed the format of new USB keys to HFS+, and all works perfectly fine as before . Thumbs up Great work
I'm confused as to why you would need to drag tracks from Playlist onto the desktop?? All my Playlist have been analyzed from my 2tb external hard drive. Would this not confuse rekordbox as it can't find the file path?
No. They are all sorted as artists plus metadata. If this was the case and you had the same track in multiple playlists, the track would then be duplicated and that's not feasible
I did all this and it seems it still isn’t recognizing my usb, I was able to play music from it when I just dragged and dropped my music but now it isn’t letting me since I deleted all that and redid it this way so I would have my wave form, any chance you can help me out with where I am going wrong?
Hello, so um trying to export two different playlists. But when i export one of them, alll the songs of both playlists are going through to the usb as one. Any idea why? Thanks
Hey, recently I bought a new mac, replacing my old one. I want to transfer my tracks with my hot cues into my new mac, but it only transfers the audio file itself without the hot cues. I've tried using a pendrive and airdrop aswell. Do you know how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance
Amazing content, I wish to ask is there is a way to do it other way around - can I export playlists from USB back to my computer? My idea was to prepare playlists in rekordbox and export them to USB, delete all old music from my disc ( computer ) and then export again just playlists and files from USB back to computer so I keep only what I still use - does anyone have an idea how to do that? Thank you!
Hola tengo un usb de 256 que la casilla de exportar sale en gris y no aparece el dispositivo ,es nuevo , probe con varios de 32 y no hay problemas pero los de mas gigas dice biblioteca corrompida, porque?.gracias
Has it ever happened to you that you have exported the analyzed playlist in the recordbox to a storage medium and the export of the given playlist has not been exported to you in a certain% or number of tracks? specifically, in 40% of 240 songs, rekordbox no longer exports to storage media. Recordbox works does not freeze usb device only works no longer exports songs with a playlist. could you please help me?
I'm confused, when selecting your usb drive in disk utility and hitting erase; does this erase the files already stored on the drive?? What am I erasing by using this function??
'Erasing' your USB drive on a Mac is reformatting - you erase everything & starting afresh. bear in mind I only filmed this for Mac Big Sur users @ the time there was a bug with the OS. Most common format for use with CDJs is FAT32.
I assume this doesn't work if I pull my songs of Tidal for the playlist correct? I would need the actual files on my computer to save it to the USB drive, am I right?
@@therealblackmooseplease answer, i'm using the songs i purchase from iTunes, can I export those songs to my usb drive? if not, where can i download high quality music that can import to rekordbox then export to my usb drive and use them on my dj performance on stage? I wonder if I can use my purchased itunes songs on different setups via USB. Or should I bring my laptop to the stage and connect it to play songs on my laptop?
Hey there :) My usb is Fat32, however, just about all my Rekordbox tracks are MP4 files. When I attempt either export method, I receive an error message that reads: Rekordbox cannot transfer MP4 or WAV files. Any ideas for me? I am a VideoDJ so I really need to be able to transfer MP4 files. Thank you.
The intent of exporting to USB is to play on CDJs/XDJs. They do not support/play MP4s, only audio files. If you're using rekordbox video, you'll be in PERFORMANCE mode. Exporting to USB is useless. What device are you using for VDJing?
@@therealblackmoose Well, when I go to private gigs, I use Rekordbox via my laptop and DDJ-1000. But I've landed a residency at a new spot that uses Virtual DJ. I wanted to transport my MP4 videos to their computer, since I have thousands and thousands of them.
You cannot export streamed music (tidal, soundcloud, beatport, beatsource subscription services) as you don't 'own' it. See this vid for more info > th-cam.com/video/DN3WPh626RU/w-d-xo.html
No I didn't. That's your fault. This video is a couple years old. At the time when Mac Big Sur was stuffing around with USB compatibility with rekordbox
I'm in Windows 10. Latest version of Reordbox. Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB USB stick formatted to FAT32. I'm getting a me'ssage in an EXPORT LOG file: 'The file is in the format that CDJ/XDJ/mobile device doesn't support.' Can anyone help? Thanks.
Check the file format of the track & the characters on the filename. Also try using audacity to convert the file format again. Otherwise send a support ticket to rekordbox.com & provide more info there.

finally a good tutorial that explains everything!

No problem. FYI apple just updated their OS 11.6 and PDJ confirmed you can export to Fat32 again
I had the same issue that your video resolved. Thanks!
What about Windows how does it works?
No devices appear in the device Column for me to do this even tho my usb is plugged in?
When I sync my playlist to the usb-drive, my crates and sub-crates are not there. All my songs are on the drive, but all mixed up. Help Please!

Still waiting for the answer 😭
No. They are all sorted as artists plus metadata.

Is your playlist downloaded to your PC or have you linked your beatport account?
It's downloaded. I don't use beatport at this time. Also this video was made before support for Beatport on CDJ-3000

How do I then Import the Playlist and music in another device?
?

Correct. You must own the music i.e. have downloaded it. With streamed tracks, you don't 'own' the music.
