Actually in the west, Songwriter is the title given to anyone involved in making of the song....not just the writer of the lyrics. Even if the song has no lyrics the composer of the music is called songwriter. So technically, they are correct.
It is not wrong. The title songwriter is given to the maker of the song..which consists of both the lyricist and the composer. In fact even if the song has no lyrics ( like Beethoven's music) the composer is called the songwriter..so technically it's correct.
