Due to copyright issues I had to trim out a section containing an interview with 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. Apologies for the jump cut, that will be the last time I use any footage from the WWE. I've also faced a ton of other copyright claims with this video, preventing money from being made 😞 We press on...
I remember I was like 7 and my mom got me the trilogy on dvd and I rewatched them so many times that now the first one is scratched and stops playing makes me sad
Also fun fact: The Green Goblin interrogating JJ was completely unnecessary, as Peter Parker was credited under the newspaper pictures... but you may argue that because his goblin side took over, goblins cannot read, thus making the movie coherent :)
These videos give me the same experience as like being at a bar with my buddy and him describing a movie he just watched to me, very entertaining while I get shitfaced.
The whole "you mess with one of us you mess with all of us" is very much a moment of New York pride after the devastation the city felt after 9/11 just one year prior to the first Spider-Man. It makes me happy to see superheroes still thematically standing up for the every man in the modern world.
@kingstongaming1619 I meant no offence, without context it's a bit of a goofy scene in my opinion, with context I understand why it was included but I didn't know until people commented. I'm not here to offend anyone.
Plus - let's be honest - it couldnt be further from thruth, right? I mean arent New Yorkers kinda famous for being ignorant od their surroundings nad the other people aeound them? Not to speak of the enormous disparity of wealth and living conditions in the city
@@Howesenberg Don't worry about it. Most people on the internet are too young to have experienced the event. Then you have all the edgy people who just make jokes about it. Those of us old enough to have lived through it aren't going to lynch you over not understanding the context.
IMO JJ refusing to give up Peter isn't about altruism or caring about Peter. It's 100% JJ displaying his integrity as a journalist. Protecting sources is one of the few bastions of integrity journalists in the US are not willing to destroy for money or clout. It's kind of like, "we don't negotiate with terrorists." Since the journalists know if they give up a source, no one else will come forward as an anonymous source, they protect sources dearly. JJ, for better or worse, is a paragon of US Journalism ideals - he would rather DIE than risk sources not coming forward in the future to give leads to his paper. It's a detail I LOVE from this script 😊
These movies feel like listening to that random movie adaptation of a thing you like that you and your friends spend an absurd amount of time talking about.
Just lost a distant yet well remembered uncle (kinda like Spiderman, heh, what a coincidence) so this video is helping me cope, so thanks for the great timing man, I needed it.
the hats 11:33 people throw when they graduate are called... mortarboard caps, and were chosen to be square shaped, like a book, to show ones academic statue
Dude I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time! This was one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Even though these movies are iconic and they were my favorite movies growing up, and still now, it’s still nice to laugh at both what makes them great and their imperfections. Plus your commentary and edits are pure gold
These films had something that so few movies understand and do nowadays, they were unapologetically authentic and genuine. They believed and created a world that didn’t poke fun at or acknowledge their campiness like “oh look how quirky we are” with 4th wall breaks, truly beautiful to behold.
I was sorry to hear about an underwhelming response to your previous J.Park recap. I thought it was outstanding. As was this Spiderman recap video. I've even watched your 177 episodes recap of TWD series multiple times after completion. Everytime I hear your voice, I'm instantly reminded of Glenn Rhea spaghetti & meatballs. & I think your personal touch on the E.Dead franchise would be another hoot. I'm in. Ready & waiting...
I really appreciate the kind words, I'm hopeful videos like the JP one will be sleeper hits in that they grow over time with a spike in interest for the release of the new movie. We shall see, all I can do is hope and learn from the experience.
One of the best things about these movies are the extras. Take any scene and you will see extras saying or doing wacky shit. It’s hilarious! Can’t wait to see what else you’ve got planned for 2024 Mr Howesenberg!
20:54 This movie was released in 2002, a year after the 9/11 attacks in New York City. This scene was showing New York solidarity in a time where it was appreciated.
These films were such a product of their time and I love them for it. The first especially has a 90s feel about it, though of course released in 2002 that was just perfect for me.
The first two are solid, but I seriously did not remember how metal some of the scenes were in the third movie lol, absolutely wild. Like god damn the scene where he bullies Harry then explodes his face. I only remembered the cringe bits previously.
a cool little detail (though it's probably obvious), when norman says "you know how much I sacrificed??" to the board members. he's referring to his relationship with harry and the time he chose to spend building his company instead spending time with harry
Hey Howesonbergfilms I really enjoyed your Jurassic park series video and was curious if you could cover the sort-of spin-off show camp Cretaceous because it’s one of my favourite to series to date. Thanks!
I saw all 3 in theater. In part 2 there is a throw away line about the Symbiot being discovered by Astronaut Boy. Nothing. Wait for 3? Also the breakup scene in the park... Peter offers her flowers. "Peonies?" From the 3rd row: "You sick bastard the bathrooms are right over there. No wonder she's leaving you!" I make my own fun.
so the whole thing with the cringe lines from the New Yorkers in the first movie. This movie had just come out after 9/11 and they wrote those lines to really emphasize how the tragedy made New Yorkers and America come together
Harry tried to sneak attack Peter, who was more focused on the ring, and he still almost killed Harry ON ACCIDENT. Yet Mary Jane somehow believes he's actually able to kill Peter.
The one part in the first movie that made me laugh out loud was the pumpkin bomb skeleton thing and just the cheesiness of the early 2000s I love the part with May smacking doc ock in the face and loved the speech and the side of Peter where he feels guilt and trying to be Spider-Man again. Although Spider-Man 3 isn’t as good as the first two I like the addiction side with the venom although it’s different from the comics but I think sandman was done wonderfully. Can’t forget the legendary Stan Lee cameos
@@Howesenberg well I’ve only seen SM 3 in theaters I was born the same year the movie came out and I was 2 for the second.
