For anyone looking into this vehicle, PLEASE check out the IIHS safety ratings first. That’s the biggest improvement CarMom can make - please please please make it standard to address safety, not just practicality or new features, in these videos.
The updated side test has gone from poor to acceptable. The updated moderate overlap is unchanged and only rated as marginal, showing risk of head/neck and chest injuries to rear passengers. That’s not much of an improvement in a vehicle built to tote children on a daily basis. I hope KIA figures out how to make these safer and then it would be a true contender in the very narrow minivan lineup.
@@elysecausey5828 You do realize that those scores are much more stringent than they were just 5 years ago, and it has much better safety than vehicles rated "Good" back then. Not to mention those scores are nearly irrelevant when using car seats for children. Compare it to other current models and you'll see it's neck and neck with the rest.
Each family can draw their own conclusions from the available data and decide what is acceptable for their own family. All I’m advocating for is for those who don’t make it a priority to inform themselves on safety ratings but who only look at things like updated tech in a vehicle to make sure they’re completely informed before they make a decision. I’m also suggesting the Car Mom include safety ratings as a feature of each video as well, as that’s top of mind for parents, not just how the car looks and works with car seats.
mechanics would generally agree to these brands in order: Toyota/Lexus Honda/Acura Mazda (depends) Chevy, GMC, Buick Kia, Hyundai Ford Nissan (CVT) GM cars are about as bad, some models worse their trucks just make up for it, the thing is Kia’s usually need the big ones like engines/trans around 100k. GM will just have a bunch of small things break. That was my mom’s situation. Kia sportage just past 100k and it’s over. The value drops in this brand like a rock because of said reliability so the repair is more than the car is worth. Also not a lemon there is multiple lawsuits about the engines being bad. In fact I have known 2 othered with Elantra’s that had the engines die right after warranty. 1 of them was a speed demon but regardless they are horrible.
This is my dream car. Some people have a dream house but this is my dream van ❤
If you don’t mind really expensive repairs it’s a good option. Sienna will be worth it in the long run.
Waiting for that Sienna review to help us decide what to get later this year! So far it sounds like the Carnival wins out vs the Odyssey?
OMG that back seat layout for carseats is perfect. You are 100% right :)

How can you set up an Expedition with that layout given the seats aren't removable? Or are you talking about the tilt function on the unused seat.

Can a 4 seater Wonderfold wagon fit in this trunk?
People in the Kia Carnival owners group on FB have shown them fitting!
Didn't want to like it... But you are convincing me!!!
I am so disappointed that this car is not being sold in Europe; it would have been mine! 💔
Wife and I decided between this snd telluride for the family. Chose the telluride awd as I live in cold and icey weather.
Anyone count the dog cameos?
Kia/Hyundai is only as good as the warranty lasts. Just remember that people, my mom learned the hard way recently.
Maybe your mom got a bad apple. I suggest checking out consumer reports to see how Kia and Hyundai rated.
@ consumer reports don’t tell the whole story either. Any experienced mechanic will agree on this.

Kia Sedona died after 6 years. Mechanic said to trash the vehicle as it wasn’t worth to fix
