I sat my family down 3 years ago. I told them my plan to go wfpb. I welcomed them to join me and said if they didn’t want to it was fine but they had to cook for themselves. Guess which choice they made?

I'm lucky because I sought after a better diet my whole life, and it's been a journey, for sure. Might be for the rest of my life. I struggle from time to time, but love the rants. They inspire me to go back, and re commit to those behaviors that have become slippery places. One day or 30 days at a time, hopefully forever. It would be nice to give up the struggle. For those of us with addictive ways, we are also addicted to repeating the behavior, unless we commit it to abstinence. Day one.

I changed to a WFPB diet five years ago. The trigger was when I got a bad bout of food poisoning from lunchmeat. I fainted & broke one of my teeth. That was it. I went 100% from then on, but that's just me. I go all the way when I decide to do something & I don't look back.

I’m here because you have fantastic info. I’ve been vegan for nine years. Did enjoy some of the “fake foods”-delish, but not healthy. Gained weight. Love this lifestyle. Easy. Inexpensive. Healthy. Also, appreciate the community. I don’t get pressure or arguments, but definitely in the minority.

Good video, Dillon. I hope that for the people who are facing a major change in diet after many years, your message about doing 30-day challenges will help. For me, it was easy after a stroke because I had been vegan for years earlier in life and had drifted away, but I don't recommend anything as dramatic as a stroke to be a wake up call, that's for sure. Hoping everyone has a beautiful Solstice tomorrow and begins a healthy, fabulous season!

Today, June 20th, was my first day plant based. I'm coming off of Keto (tried for years but couldn't lose weight, blood sugar and pressure are both high, hypothyroid, rheumatoid arthritis, and Dairy Allergy.
After eating dinner tonight my blood sugar jumped to 208 but a few hours later it went down to 137; the lowest it's been in a long time. I had about 1/2 cup pinto beans and 1 cup quinoa.
So, I'm on this new journey and hope it works well for me. I am so ready to turn my eating around for health. Putting vegetables on my shopping list and other whole foods.

I started vegetarian, eating boiled eggs, tons of beans, lentils, sushi, veggies, fruit and nuts… I lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks. With time, I found recipes that have become my staples. I collect more and more recipes… I delve into all sorts of different ethnicities of foods and choose what I like… I’ll probably never be a true vegan, but I’m doing my best… processed foods are out. My bf eats burgers, fries, big bowls of ice cream, chips, chocolate, but I’m steadfast. Last week I sat (like I do very often) eating a pear while he ate fast food. I even make poutine, rich pastas etc for him but I stick to my whole foods and eat small portions. I’m strong… be strong y’all! You’ll feel great and proud of yourself… kind of like your own little secret club! I’m aiming to lose another 20 to 30 pounds. I’m currently at 151lbs… too much for what I’m used to…. I’ve always been a stick, and I felt good being a stick. Lately, I’ve weighed as much as I have ever been of 165 lbs at 9 months pregnant. We’re not all made the same…. Must be a pre- menopausal thing… my belly got big like I was 9 months pregnant…. Didn’t feel good, had aches and pains… now they’re all gone! Go get’em tigers!!! This is a great channel for help with recipes! Thank you! ❤

I make mostly vegan meals, my husband insists on buying eggs, cheese milk, meat. I usually cook some meat for him on the side of the vegan meals because he will make his own meat the most unhealthy way possible if I don't. It's really hard when your partner doesn't want to eat the same. If he didn't buy them I wouldn't think about it twice.

The recipes that were shared either didn’t taste good or were complicated. Yesterday I made your chickpea wrap and even my husband loved it! I really appreciate your simple easy meals. I love that you said 30 day challenges or even one healthy meal to start. I love that you make this way of eating feel accessible. Thank you Reebs & Dillon, you two are wonderful, I watch all your videos and have learned so much.... I have been eating a healthy vegan diet with no junk vegan..... I had suddenly developed serious health issues and actually avoided gallbladder surgery because of my diet change.... the surgeon said it could NOT be done.... well, my MRI shows a clear gallbladder now. I'm still trying to cure my fibromyalgia and arthritis, but I feel I'll get there ... I've also lost 80 pounds so far 🎉 I want to eradicate every last ounce of fat on my carcass lol ... I've got about 15 more pounds to lose so that my BMI is at the lowest end of my ideal range.
So, I'll tell everyone to keep at it and don't give up, it can be done, we owe it to ourselves to be the healthiest we can be.

@ocelotcat I just wanted to offer some personal experience on this note if thats ok. I have psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, and lupus and found after five years of being WFPB, it did not heal or even help my conditions (aside from the weight loss obviously providing some relief, but I only lost about 10 lb, I wasn't overweight to start out). It DID significantly improve my cholesterol and I know of others who have reversed various autoimmune conditions with the diet. I just wanted you to know, that despite adhering very strictly to this diet, it may not cure or even improve your condition. I later visited a functional medicine doctor and a blood test he performed indicated I have many food intolerances (60+) that were triggering my condition (foods that are on the diet). And even adhering to this new stricter diet, I still require multiple medications to manage my conditions. I don't want to discourage you. I just wanted you to know that IF the plan doesn't resolve your issues, you're not alone. I made myself very sick trying to go med-free and manage everything with diet and landed myself in the hospital.
Congratulations on your weight loss and gall bladder issues reversing! That on its own is a good enough reason to keep at it!!

Hi, Dillon! I’ve been here (visiting your channel) since 2020 when I went whole food vegan and never looked back on the vegan thing, but I’m only at about 80% of the whole food part. I lost 70 pounds in under a year and then broke up with longtime partner, living on my own, and vegan Trader Joe’s frozen dinners are even easier than my instant pot. Also eating lots of pretzels which, let’s be serious, are not as bad as MANY things, but still, eating too many snacks like that. Gained about 15 lbs back. Trying to decide how to proceed.
