i remember when i was starting into middle school in the early 90's and my friends were like hell yeah..nirvana, alice in chains..i was like mmmm cool, but i want my faith no more and primus!!
I wanted all 4 but I leaned more your direction. Was just jamming Faith No Mores Angel Dust album the other day while I was smoking crack. It's such a badass album.
The first time I ever saw this band was in my hometown of Colorado in red rocks my friend and i had taken some acid and smoked a lot of blunts I didn’t even know who they were my friends just invited me to the show but damn ever since that day I been fascinated with this guys haha
I just realized that les is on the left side of the stage, I've watched this performance so many times and seen them around 25 times and have never seen that
Haha me three. But you can't beat the original. The Residents have been my favorite band since I first heard them. Primus is weird enough to do the song justice, Les rules. And they have balls to play a Rez song at Woodstock. The Eyeballs reign supreme. I'm seeing The Residents Oct 12th in Foxborough!
I can't believe how les thought of bending the string and using the trem at the same time to change the tone, but not the pitch. Genius in its simplicity...
@@ogmudbone2334 I think she means that at :50 seconds if you listen to the bass it sounds almost distorted or wavy, but he didn’t change the pitch or use a distortion pedal to make that sound, if you look at his hand while he’s playing it he’s bending the string on the frets and also wiggling his thumb while he’s strumming to get that sound
This is by far my favorite Primus song. I've only had the pleasure of seeing them play it live once (with Bryan Mantia), but God was it fantastic. My first Primus show. Don't quote me on this, but didn't Les use his fretted 6-string to record the studio version?
But Primus is soooo much more than moshing! I mean this song in particular is about who you truely are when your alone (quote from Mike). The spirit of Primus is about being goofy and having a GOOD ASS TIME, moshing does also go into play ;) ...
True. First I was going to say that jumping around doesn't take that much, but it does for people who can't go there because of it. I agree with audiofunkdialect.
ATTN PRIMUS FANS: When You say Primus Sucks, You are really saying how much you love them, this is a little known fact of old school Primus fans. Having seen them back in the day I can attest to an Orpheum of people yelling "You Suck" because they loved them so much. Thank You and to defy the laws of tradition is a crusade only of the brave
I agree with melancholic but not sure about the goth part. Earlier then that but new wave doesn't fit. Definitely some decent surf guitar in there. (Irrelevant to the topic)
I named my cat Allowicious cuz of this song. We called her Alley for short
The bassline to Nature Boy is ridiculously awesome.
being a Primus fan is like being a pirate!!!
we get to be goofy, party, and fucking rock and roll
i remember when i was starting into middle school in the early 90's and my friends were like hell yeah..nirvana, alice in chains..i was like mmmm cool, but i want my faith no more and primus!!
yeah, everybody has their favorites but, it's always nice to include more, my favs are always expanding music get mad if you listen to somebody else
I wanted all 4 but I leaned more your direction. Was just jamming Faith No Mores Angel Dust album the other day while I was smoking crack. It's such a badass album.
Not big on faith no more but love primus and Alice in chains

That sounds like a great time. You remember what year that was?
@@ogmudbone2334 it wasn’t too long ago I say maybe 2016 or 2017
I was at Woodstock ad saw them live. Freaking AWSOME!!!!!!!!
The bassline on Hello Skinny is ridiculously awesome.
I remember once listening to this song high on mushroom, it was incredible.
my brother was here. he has a video of primus. he also saw chili peppers
Primus are the kings of bass-based music.
Rock on Primus!
11 years on, you're still correct.
that's their twist on the song, the standard don't go like that
Based has a whole new meaning now, too.
The guitarist is awesome too
So is the drummer!
Larry is so underrated

Same here. Except I wasn't high, and it was Frizzle Fry.
goddam i love primus, wish i could have been there.
I just realized that les is on the left side of the stage, I've watched this performance so many times and seen them around 25 times and have never seen that
the first time i watched primus i was like what the fuck, but once you start listening to them your like this is the shit
My favorite Primus song ❤❤

Fuck, its pretty rare to find a bunch of people so damn talented as primus
Herb is a such a fucking good drummer
Larry Is underrated
I can't believe how les thought of bending the string and using the trem at the same time to change the tone, but not the pitch.

Ler is a beast player!
I luv being a Residents fan! When normal people listen to them they just get all silent and weirded out.
This is by far my favorite Primus song. I've only had the pleasure of seeing them play it live once (with Bryan Mantia), but God was it fantastic. My first Primus show.
Don't quote me on this, but didn't Les use his fretted 6-string to record the studio version?
No it was his main 4 string. Everything on the brown album though and I think a bit of punchbowl was on the 6 though
@@honeybadger1810 mud was on his 6, right?
@@poob2372 yeah, mud was on the fretless 6 string. He didn’t get that fretted 6 string until punch bowl
Nah, it wouldn't have sounded as punchy.
one of the better shredsters i've seen
and look at that crown bounce!
well i am subscribed to you and you got me nto Primus!
wow
my girl bought me a fancy robe... took the fun... rite out of it...
But Primus is soooo much more than moshing!
I mean this song in particular is about who you truely are when your alone (quote from Mike).

Just look at 3:18 Faster pinky finger ever, damn... MASTERFUL

actualy yes it is.
You see Its in E flat minor most of the time, but then there is a quick key change for the bridge to the key of G
Throwing a residents song in the middle of your own. That’s primus.
ha, herb looks tough with his overalls and ponytail. great song.
whoever put this as a negative is not a true Primus fan...
Generation X's rush
Les is looking like Quint from Jaws here
Possibly the tightest band of all time
i do that all the time..
He's holding the whammy bar, while moving his hand along the frets.
if i was only born ten years earlier.....
that works for me :)
drummer is like .... oh shit. its the break from nature boy!
ive been waiting for this
this is video taken from polish television, channel 2 (2 in the right up corner)
Les is the Funkiest Hillbilly ever. Not a bad title..
Primus is excellence, anyone know the setlist of this sicktasticly nice concert??

Residents!!!!
i like that primus isn't as popular as most rock artist...
My pectoral muscles are not what I would like them to beeee!!!!

Oh man I'm sorry I wanted to go but you know how work is. Next week I'm pretty clear so if you want to try and see if they got any
i always thought there was a primus-residents connection....
yea, that was good about 5 years ago.
Adam Gates is no longer Bob C. Cock. He is now Steve "Aiwass" Trousdale, thanks to Mike Gordon.
FUCKING 5stars baby this is the shit im talking about.......
I want a Oysterhead reunion!!! Please.
this song has such a dark melancholic vibe if it werent so goofy it could be categorized as goth tbh
I agree with melancholic but not sure about the goth part. Earlier then that but new wave doesn't fit. Definitely some decent surf guitar in there. (Irrelevant to the topic)
best drummer fucking ever!
This band must have seen me!
LOL What happens at 3:09...homey gets pancaked!
@DrumBum561 Sounds like a fuzz, flange, or phase...
@qw27 because it's primus, not Les Claypool.
WHAT YOU SAID :) ROCK ON
