"What happened to music?" Real musicians playing real instruments, for one thing. What's crazy is their live version was just as big when it came out, like it was a new song again.
Good Music raises our vibrations, certain entities took over the music industry to usurp and kill the vibe of our music. ✨ Fortunately, music and memory is contained in our cells. 🦋 Onward upwards. 🌿☘️🌱🌲🌴🍃🌳🍀💚🖤
There really is no other band like Maze featuring Frankie Beverly!!!!! And yes, we’re REALLY hearing those production nuances, because we GenXers and older are used to GREAT, TIMELESS music.
I always feel so lucky to have grown up in the 70s and 80s, when there was non-stop good music and it didn't sound remotely the same...it's painfully different these days. This song was everywhere for awhile, vividly remember it
There are no bad songs by Maze that I’ve found in my 50+ years. You should do more of their music. They are always played at the cookouts in the South.
Youngblood, this song is from 1981 and it's well-known and recognizable for being played at backyard bbq's with the grown folks playing spades and dominoes.
Maze ft. Frankie Beverly is another amazing band from the 70's and 80's; and their hits include: "Before I Let You Go", "Southern Girl", and my favorite "Back In Stride Again" which are worth reacting to due to their rhythmic smoothness and great musical composition.
Hey Jammin, I'm trying to request a song, but for some strange reason, I'm not able to do it from streamlabs. I'm not sure what to do in that when I click to donate nothing happens. Please help if you can.
Brotha, brotha, brotha!! You have stumbled across another GOAT group LOL. Check out Golden Time of Day, Southern Girl, We Are One, and After The Morning After. Promise you won’t be disappointed. I haven’t lied to you yet!
More Maze Please ! ( another underated band with a slew of great songs in their catalougue) Please react to the songs like : Cant get over you, Southern Girl, Golden Time of Day, You, Happy Feelings, Before I Let Go, We Are One, and Running Away , just to name a few.....
I've seen Frankie Beverly and Maze 4 times in concert. They give the best live concerts, talking about dancing in the isles, all the time. The crowd sings so loudly we'd almost drown out Frankie. Look at California and Golden Time of Day are other songs that you should try.
I am lmao at his reaction to good music. Maze has him so mellow he is about to smoke one of his dreads...... lol! I love it.....! The music is decades old yet quality always stands the test of time. What you are hearing are the results of real music, written by real musicians, playing real instruments who have taken music lessons and spent the time shedding and writing music. I am so glad you are open to enjoy good music. ✌🏾
I'm tellin ya-you can't miss with them!!! I'm just sorry you didn't get a chance to see them LIVE!!! They ALWAYS killed it!!! They never got the shine they deserved(and still don't)!! Your reaction was on point😊😊😊!!! Your appreciation is appreciated!!! Chk out "Feel That You're Feelin"!!!

I absolutely love your thoughtful reactions.. you don't continually interrupt and I love your appreciation to REAL music.. The music from the 70's and 80's is timeless.
Steppers jam! Guaranteed to be played at ALL party functions, card parties, etc. Awesome reaction. It's a NO MISS with Frankie Beverly & Maze. They are awesome in concert as well. Nothing like LIVE instruments & vocals. Pure talent
You should check out some of their LIVE stuff, better than the studio! Saw them in ‘84 and they were amazing in person… Glad you’ve discovered them young man and I enjoy your vids!
I'm old school young blood, you caught my attention when you started appreciating Wu Tang. Now you starting to move on to the classic RnB joints. You should also do blues and jazz artist also. They starting to move on from the classic music that bring us to today's music. Thank you for keeping the old school music alive young brother. Continued success.
Keep doing your thing!! Out of all of the reaction sites, there are only 3 that are true music lovers (in my opinion). You obviously LOVE and appreciate good music. ❤
Anybody ever go to the Essence festival? They were the festival closer for years and always sent people home hyped about coming the next year. They were off the lineup for some years, but returned in 2019.
Once in the land of the good groove your never leaving young bro this is your blueprint in your musical universe for the rest of your life. Soul /jazz/ funk is your musical home treasure it cause there,s so many more gems to find... Keep doing what your doin...
That sound you are hearing is probably by the multi key-boardist, Phillip Woo. He was awesome. He made a lot of different sound with multiple instruments. During the live performances of Maze the fans would be chanting Woo, Woo. There was no live concert like a Frankie Beverly and Maze concert.
My mom's ex boyfriend gave her this cassette - and who really listened to it? You got it! 😁. Happened like that a few times. Love Maze. I'm putting in a vote too for "Before I Let Go" by this group.
The opening is fantastic. It just builds and builds. I forgot what a great song this is. I attended a Maze concert in the 1980's at the Oakland Coliseum. I still have the souvenir hat I bought!
I don't know what town you're in, but load BandsInTown or a similar program so you can get advance notice of when they come near you. I think you'll really enjoy their live concert performance. There's going to be a real treat when you see what happens once they hit the stage.
What is even better than this? The LIVE version of this song from New Orleans in 1981. Check out "Joy and Pain Live New Orleans (Audio Remastered)". It is video from the concert as well. It is nine minutes and fifty-two seconds. It will be your favorite version of this - I guarantee it...
I'm following all of your posts. Yes, the world does know. Because people like us are keeping this music alive. Old Skool Music will never cease to exist. All we have to do is play it. I love what you're doing. Keep doin' it!
Definitely a classic had a chance to see them in concert the live performances where better than the studio albums sad that Frankie lost his voice but the band still sounds amazing!!
I believe the year was 1979 or 80 I had met this young lady and one of our first dates was going to see Prince and Frankie Beverly and Maze headline into show now this took place in Chicago at the Arie Crown Theater Frankie stole the show I ended up having a beautiful daughter that came from that relationship she is now 40 years old so that tells you just about how old I am what a blast

Oh yes it is Super Nice J.J.! I'm hearing it❣ your reaction is exactly how FB&Maze fans felt when it released back in the day. We 70's people were so spoiled 😁 . Thanks for reacting J.J. 👍👍👍✌ You shld listen to the hip hop/rap version by Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock fr 1988...it was the jam in the clubs!

There was a reason our generation went to so many concerts. The music back then was supreme.
Great musicians. Their live versions are just as good
So talented. Great musicians.

Their songs always had a positive message. My favorite is "We Are One".

And in the West too!
Also check out their tribute to Marvin Gaye when he passed. Called" Silky Soul Singer".. ✌️
Maze featuring Frankie Beverley is one of the MOST popular black groups/bands of all time! Women swoon at their concerts! Incredible performances!!!!!

Nice to see young gun «savouring» this gem, lot of memories from the early 80's, Maze is a must have.
Keep the good work👌
Salute from Paris 🗼

I saw them too with my group of friends. Great music, great friends, and great memories.
@@shevawn1973 I think that they were really an unsung group but had a lot of faithful fans.
@@Tessiefaye Yes indeed!

Old heads didn't play around...... facts💯
Maze was the epitome of a 70s band. This was one of my favs by them and "Before I Let Go" is another but they have a nice catalog as well.
Yes - for sure - Before I Let Go.
Next up, "Before I Let Go". This though is just so smooth and bittersweet.
K-Solo-Your Mom's in My Business. Steady B- Use Me. Many more sampled this track.
My favorite group. Frankie Beverly is the truth. Check out their Live album from New Orleans
Dope reaction. Before I Let Go, Happy Feeling & Southern Girl are 3 more serious jams from Maze Ft Frankie Beverly...
MAZE! Synthesizers got u again...nice.
"Before I Let Go" 'Happy Feeling"
Maze was criminally underrated! For the body of work that they have they never won any awards.

Hi @Jay Kemp here is my vote for Jean Carne!!!
I absolutely love your thoughtful reactions.. you don't continually interrupt and I love your appreciation to REAL music.. The music from the 70's and 80's is timeless.
Now you gotta do Rob Base and see why he got sued by Frankie Beverly. Same title . Joy and Pain. You will never get Maze confused with anyone. Unique.
With one exception. When Maxwell first came out with "Ascension (Don't You Ever Wonder)", I almost mistook it for Frankie Beverly & Maze!
Steppers jam! Guaranteed to be played at ALL party functions, card parties, etc. Awesome reaction. It's a NO MISS with Frankie Beverly & Maze. They are awesome in concert as well. Nothing like LIVE instruments & vocals. Pure talent

You know you're great when you can tour off your old music and still sell out the venues. That's Frankie Beverly and Maze for you.
Just found you tonight and now subscribed. Love what you are doing. You cant go wrong with MAZE. Brilliant.....thank you
Awesome, thank you!
Anything by the Maze is dope! Happy Feelings is another classic
I remember many summers listening to them. I miss the music, friends, and the laid back feeling.
Keep doing your thing!! Out of all of the reaction sites, there are only 3 that are true music lovers (in my opinion). You obviously LOVE and appreciate good music. ❤
Grown folk music, cook out music bbq
Anybody ever go to the Essence festival? They were the festival closer for years and always sent people home hyped about coming the next year. They were off the lineup for some years, but returned in 2019.
Nothing like Maze at Essence Festival. Sea of beautiful Black people enjoying OUR culture. Good times!
This album gets played at least once a month. Usually right after "All n all" in my play list.

That's another favorite of mine!
Another favorite of mines along with Golden Time Of Day
My mom's ex boyfriend gave her this cassette - and who really listened to it? You got it! 😁. Happened like that a few times. Love Maze. I'm putting in a vote too for "Before I Let Go" by this group.

OK. You won me over. It's awesome to see someone in this generation really appreciate good music with a message. I subscribed and will share.

Check out "Silky Soul" by them as well.
An awesome tribute to Marvin!
Definitely a classic had a chance to see them in concert the live performances where better than the studio albums sad that Frankie lost his voice but the band still sounds amazing!!
Dre wasn't sampling Maze, talking about weed or killing other brothers. My generation wouldn't have allowed it. No Maze, No EWF. Hell No.
Another great reaction!
