Probably has one of the most loyal African American following in history, one of the only bands that hasn’t released new music is 30+ years, but can sell out every venue they perform at, when most bands from his era have long been retired Frankie Beverly and Maze are still selling out concerts, their music in the black community is iconic.....

Frankie Beverly has one of the most recognizable and soulful voices. Golden time of day, Happy Feelings, Before I Let Go, Joy and Pain, We Are One and Feel that you're feeling are just some of their big hits.

This group is a favorite among African Americans. Their music is almost guarantee to be played at picnics, barbecues, family gatherings, etc. suitable to almost all occasions.

This is a great group. Check out “Lady Of Magic”, “Happy Feelin’s”, “Reason”, “The Look In Your Eyes”, “Silky Soul”, “The Morning After” and “Can’t Get Over You”. They stayed loyal to their fan base, never crossing over to pop. Great band.

Bro. Raw Soul (which as u read was the original group name) used to play/practice not far from me when i was in like the 8th grade. So when this LP came out, i was like that's Raw Soul!! This was one of the GO-TO's of the summer of '77 ! u have me riding home from my 9th grade summer job in a Red AMC Javelin wit my 2 friends, windows rolled up breathing in the smoke in the car that somehow got in there (dunno how it got there). '77 was musically EPIC and this was one of the stars. later on saw them 6 times.

This is always on my Playlist!! Love the guitar licks, the tempo, the shekere segundo or is that a casaba and his vocals. The imagery the lyrics create...close your eyes and dance with your SO or yourself or sit and sway or whatever. Love this song. 🎶🎵🎼
Thank you for reacting to it Just Jammin’!!!

Young man I love seeing your reactions to these Soul/Funk Classics of the 70s. I'd like to ask you. Now that you are getting into these tracks and groups, what do you personally feel is the fundamental difference in that music that was created back then versus today's? I have my opinion, but I'd love to know your assessment as someone just getting their ears on this stuff for the first time at your young age. I dig your channel. So happy that there is a reaction channel focusing on people like Curtis, Maze, James Brown and others from the most diverse era in music and one that I love as a musician.

I feel like back then there was definitely more soul put into what the artist was making. From the instruments to the vocals.

react to other great songs by Maze, including "Golden Time Of Day" and "Southern Girl" just to name a few. Maze was dynamic, yet sometimes underated group.

Another amazing song by Maze and this was also sampled in some rap songs. I gotta say I love their music and glad to be one of the few Finns who enjoy their music 🙏💗. And I do understand the aspect of being black and listening to music like this, it may feel different and don't get me wrong. It's just a fact that this music is more popular among black than white people. But it won't stop me from enjoying this wonderful music. Great channel btw!

They didn't have cross-over charm, but was big-timed loved and respected by African Americans with their smooth sounds. They had that Marvin Gaye smoothness who discovered them.

Frankie Beverly and Maze are probably the most unsung band of all time. I've been to at least 3 Frankie Beverly and Maze concerts. They can turn a concert out. I love them. This is not one of their bests. You should review Joy and Pain, Before I let You Go, Golden Time of Day, I Wanna Thank You, While I'm Alone, We Are One, Happy Feelings were much bigger and better hits than While I'm Alone.
