    Spent 2 days trying to connecting my camera to wifi with no success. Was about to trash it. Thought it wouldn't work with my wifi security settings. Figured things out after 10 minutes of watching your video. Didn't know you could hold in the flashing button to reset the camera.Thank you so much.

    Great video !! I successfully setup the camera several years but forgot how to setup with a new router and this video help me a lot. The key here is resetting the camera with the reset button at 3:51 and using the Ethernet cable.

    Thank you so much for this video. I Bought this Camara for my apartment to watch my fur babies when I go on vacations. I’m going on a vacation in a couple of hours and I was so worry I won’t be able to see them. Thank god I found your Video. I been trying to fix this for a month, after we got a new internet provider.       I love hearing stories like this. To me that’s why I create videos. I have used TH-cam myself for things I don’t know how to do or projects that I want to attempt for myself but just don’t know how to do them. Just like there is a tool for every job, TH-cam is a tool for all of us. I’m glad you didn’t give up and found my video. I have switched cameras now because mine stopped working all together so I bought a new one. If yours dies you may like the camera I replaced the Amcrest with. I believe I have talked about it in the comments and I also made a video about it. I am not sponsored by them I just love the camera and it was inexpensive. Regardless, I think it’s awesome you were the one to fix the camera and not your husband 💪🏼😊. Great job

    Thank you so much!! Switched services and with new router my camera wasn't working anymore. Cable guy couldn't get it to work so he was going to get in contact with the IT dept. Glad I stumbled upon your video and now I got it to work. Funny thing is I suggested that we plug in the Ethernet cable and he said "no that doesn't have anything to do with it not connecting" Lmaooo boy was he wrong. God Bless!

    OMG!!! You don't know how long and how much trouble I've been through trying to get this connected to the wifi network.. THANKS SO MUCH!!! Fantastic VIDEO!!! I'm Like everyone else here I had given up and yesterday I said I've had this camera for ever its time to get it on the wifi.

    Great video, I just wanted to add for others who may be struggling. My camera was working fine, it does grab a new IP frequently, most likely DHCP, but this time, it just would not grab a new IP after a firmware update. I did not know about that light being a button, so that really helped from your video. My issue turned out to be, which you lead me to, was the 2.4Ghz v 5 Ghz issue. My uverse router was set with the same name for both frequencies so I could not tell which freq I was actually connected to. So I went into my router settings and set the 2.4 Ghz band to name-24 so I could distinguish between the two when connecting to wifi. That fixed it for me and I am not sure how long that has been an issue. Thank you.

    Thanks so much for the info, I didn't know about the reset button. Once I reset and connected through the 2.5 channel, all the cameras connected. I tried for an hour with no luck on one camera.

    This helped a lot. I have the Amcrest IP841B and I was trying to connect it to my new TP-Link AC750 WiFi extender. The part where you left the password as the default seemed to fix the issues for me. I had tried multiple times with changing the password during the setup and it failed. The one time I left the password default like you did, it worked.

    Thank you so much. The video from Amcrest was useless. While I didn't have to connect via ethernet , I did have to leave the default password during the initial install and then it asked me to change the pw. I had first tried setting my pw during install and it didn't work. Once I resetted and let the admin default pw during install, it worked.

    I just changed my internet service provider from AT&T U-Verse to Comcast Xfinity and had to change my modem. I thought I could just hook all of my ethernet cables to the new Xfinity modem and reconnect my camera. Absolutely not the case. I was just about to buy a new camera, but after watching your video, I'm going to try resetting it tomorrow. The only thing different about my situation is that my camera is power-over-ethernet (POE) instead of outlet power charge, so hopefully that doesn't complicate things. Thanks for the video.

      I also have (POE) cameras but they are different models. I had an issue with my DVR that came with my cameras and had to buy a new one to get all my cameras back. Totally different situation but had 4 cameras for outside and now have 8 because I had to buy the DVR with the cameras included. I’m guessing your POE cameras are Amcrest. I hope my process helps with yours. Mine connect immediately when plugged in so no reset necessary. If you want to let us all know how yours goes I’m sure it will help others if they have a similar issue. Thanks for the comment and I hope it works for you :)

    Thank you sir: Like others here it tried several times to connect my Amcrest IPM-751 dome camera to a new wifi router. It was driving me nuts. Then I found this video and realized I had to bring the camera to the router...
    Here are my saved notes:
    We replaced our wifi router and that caused problems. The camera has to be brought to the router and connected via Ethernet cable and a 12v power adapter. The camera’s internal rest button can be pressed for 30 seconds to reset the camera settings. Then power off wait 10 seconds, then power on (red light) wait for blinking then a solid green light. Now run Amcrest app and select install a wifi camera using Ethernet connection… follow prompts to where you can view camera video without Ethernet cable connected.
    Now the power can be disconnected. The camera can be tested by reconnecting to power then waiting 2 minutes (for solid green light) now restart the Amcrest app and verify all is working. If error occurs simply restart the Amcrest app (sometimes a connection will simply fail). Okay, then disconnect power, move camera to its actual location and reconnect its power. Again, it takes about 2 minutes for the camera to restart and connect (solid green light). Now restart Amcrest app to view live video. Done.

    Thanks! I have an amcrest camera and could not make it work for a long while, after getting a new modem. I knew it has to work but how? Found you and followed your instruction on iPad and resetting the device manager on my iPhone , YEY! I got it working now. Great job sharing your valuable knowledge. I need not ask my techie son to do it for me. He’d think his Mama is smart (but you get full credit). Thanks again.
