7:38 I 100% agree. I am pretty sure I am a TR, and this confirmed it. I am currently trying on wedding dresses and bulky A-line and ball gown dresses look so awful on me. I never understood it because I thought that would be the most universally flattering style for any body type, but I just looked like I was drowning in the fabric and I looked like a little kid. I am 5’4” btw. So I swapped for more simple, draped dresses (cowl neck slip dress style), trumpet/mermaid style, and hi-low that shows my ankles and shoes, and I feel like I look so much better! I decided to just go for a more simple, form-fitting dress, and compensate by accessorizing with wedding veil, ornate pointed toed shoes with bow, etc.
I just saw one comment that suggested an interesting celebrity : Aaliyah. Despite her young age, she put her mark in the musical and fashion industry, it would change from what we saw on the channel!
I said it in the last video, but I'd like to see Helena Bonham Carter who's experimenting a lot on the Romantic side. Céline Dion would be nice too, on the Dramatic side. Obviously, if we get to more modern era, a bit more diversity would be interesting, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Halle Barry, to pick a few major name. They were hard to come by back in the old Hollywood era, but we should be able to have every image ID nowadays. One series for African Americans, but maybe we could do k-pop stars as well? Bollywood actresses? Also a series on famous vintage male stars could be useful. Can we find one for each image ID? And modern male stars after that.
So enjoy your videos!! They’ve helped me pull myself out of a style funk! As a TR with a love for boho and little bit of rock vibe, sometimes I’m at a loss for how to tie it all together, but your videos are helping me wrap my head around personal style 👍😊💕
Thanks Ali. As a Theoretical Romantic I really enjoyed this video. I got a huge chuckle out of your Babuschka comment. I would enjoy anyone who you feel is a Theoretical Romantic.
Ok, maybe I’m being silly but a video on the Spice Girls would be interesting. There are so many outdoors and options. Plus they’ve been out of the limelight, so maybe there’s more everyday photos.
I'd like to see a modern+ everyday style type of video for romantics. I think Marilyn is a very defined character, but it is hard for me to imagine slitly different lines within that group, and I would like to see today's modern time fashion ideas for this type. If there is a celebrity suitable for this, that would be great (maybe Drew Bereymoore? ) :) Thank you!
I would like to see your take on Bianca Jagger and you mentioned Duchess Catherine or Emma Roberts not always dressing for their lines, having "negative" examples might also be helpful.
Dear Aly, thank you, as always, for your amazing videos! Training my eye to observe body types in real life helped me to perceive myself differently and to overcome my own body image issues. I know, you have already done several videos about Classics, however I would really enjoy one about modern 21st century Classics with not staged, more casual pictures of them.
Vivien Leigh died at age 53, not 54. She died in July 1967; she would have turned 54 on November 5. She was my idol, and I’ll never forget finding out she died when I walked into the newsroom of the radio station where I worked and saw the news come over the teletype. She was in rehearsal for the play A Delicate Balance, and I was excited to see her in person at last; alas, it was never to be.
Wow! This was so helpful. I am a TR and built a lot like her in facial and body structure. My whole life I have gravitated to these styles. So interesting!!
I will love to see you do an analysis on Jane Seymore also classified as a theatrical romantic ( or that's at least what I have heard) .... and I specially love her style in the 70s, with her long hair and soft fabrics or her form fited pices she looked so beautiful 😄
@@vampirexion Right. I'd say most celebrities are required to be underweight (beneath 15kg and lower, in relation with their height) to avoid looking heavy in front of the camera.
This would be great ☺️. I’m an underweight TR. I used to think I was “sporty” kind of like a natural 😓 so I could never find a style that suited me until I started watching Aly’s videos. I’ve been trying to embrace her style tips but some don’t work on my narrow frame 😪. A video like this would really help.
Vivien Leigh is my absolute favorite female celebrity, always classy 👌 Loved her performance of Cleopatra and Scarlett O’Hara. She is the definition of the TR essence
I would love to see a video of Anya Taylor Joy's style! I love her style in interviews and on red carpets and everywhere, but I also her roles offered quite different silhouettes (Regency clothes in Emma, 60s chic in The Queen's Gambit, unconstructed in The Northman etc.), I think it would be really interesting!
@@makaelaischillin I'm leaning pure dramatic actually. I feel she could be kind of in between at a higher weight (like Eva Green), but her whole essence and vibe seems so ethereal, regal and elfin, which reminds me of other dramatics like Cate Blanchett, Elizabeth Debicki or Tilda Swinton. I see her more in that line than the earthy sensuality of SD queens like Sophia Loren, Rita Hayworth or Sofia Vergara. I also think she's dealing quite well with stiffer/shaped fabrics (e.g. the straight cut white coat from The Queen's Gambit), while SDs tend to look a little squished or suffocated or even boxy in those, because they need soft and drapey lines. I also think she does quite clean, elegant lines well (e.g. the black jumpsuit for her Tiffany ad or the black dress she wore for the Vogue "what's in my bag" video), that can be a bit boring on SDs, who do better with bigger ornamentation and more oomph. I also like her in some more lightweight, floaty stuff, which is technically neither D nor SD, but that's where the ethereal quality kicks in imho (like for Cate Blanchett as Galadriel for example).
@@marah3298 I feel this way because I'm shortie and soft, and I have big boobies, so unless I wear a tight shirt (usually really thin), l look plain and more fat 😂😂

Hi Aly! Could you provide subtitles in Portuguese, please? I'm from Brazil and here I don't find professionals like you who approach this subject with such richness. Thank you!
100% agree on face and body enhancements! I'm most likely a TR and have a delicate frame and smallish features - I've always felt that anything fake would look incredibly vulgar, out-of-place and just plain weird on me - much more so than on some other body types. Interestingly enough, I've been compared to Salma Hayek, who's also typed as TR, even though I'm nowhere near as lush and voluptuous and am Eastern European, so there's not much resemblance at all.
Long fitted nightgowns with details is a good test to see if you're theatrical romantic. Those Cinderella wedding gowns and tiered skirts will make you look off. I cannot stress the bit about skirts enough. / lines and ethereal can look good on some. 3/4 sleeves are 👌🏻.
