I agree that Maria and Gerald have good models, but personally, for me, humans in sonic games have never been a good thing (other than eggman). However, if they make humans in THIS STYLE they fit so well in Sonic’s world
It's great to see them again. Enjoy it while you can though. It's only a matter of time before whiney fan boys start complaining again. "Urgh, stinky humans don't belong in Sonic! Get rid of 'em or I'm never playing another Sonic game ever again! Reeee!" And it'll just get worse and worse. Everyone is talking about Shadow. Almost no one talks about the fact that Maria's parents didn't want her to go with her grandfather to the Ark to slow down her illness. Also, Maria was clearly unaware that her grandfather did something pretty horrible to cure his illness and allow Shadow to come to life. Gerald is truly the best grandfather, he will never abandon his little girl and will do everything to find a cure for her illness.
I mean, Maria being on Earth without any possible doctor to cure her disease would probably make the situation worse. Also, I ask myself why didn't her parents stay with them in the Ark too. Weren't they worried or something?
Seeing how shocked Mary was at the revelation of her brother's birth makes you realize a few things: first of all, she is not angry with her grandfather because she knows that out of love for him, to try to save her, he went to such lengths however, he too had been deceived. Second, Mary is actually more shocked and frightened with the idea that she might lose Shadow if Black Doom really succeeds in taking over him entirely because of this blood connection, which however makes us realize that Shadow has a soul of his own so, compared to the others, Shadow may very well resist this forced fusion and that his Doom powers, are actually latent powers.
Gerald actually has a plan to stop the Black Arms. When Gerald lost his mind due to grief that his granddaughter died despite being cured, he kept the black arms to himself as a back up plan. Which ultimately failed because of Abraham Tower and Shadow.

The humans in this game look so good, it's easy for franchises with mainly cartoony animals as a cast to have nightmare fuel human characters, but I'm glad it isn't the case
Well that was because the military took Maria life. He then wanted all humanity to pay for it. At the end, it seems Gerald had some regrets on developing the Ark to crash the Earth as he was aware that went insane after Maria death. I like this a lot, shows how Gerald was. A man of science dedicating his work for the good.

@@vlocken4724 I think you misunderstand what the word "pre-rendered" means. If a cutscene is pre-rendered, that means it's essentially a video file. What you described sounds more like a real-time cutscene, in which the animation is played out within the game world itself.
Same with Frontiers, I couldn't belive that the final boss (pre-final horizon) cutscenes were made with graphics. It looks so good that I actually wonder if the game on Switch runs at a higher res for the final boss. Because it looks way too good to be just 720p, it totally looked like 1080p

I hope for once that a game has a lasting effect in the lore AFTER the game finishes. Like i hope they dont just move and not acknowledge shadows new powers. In Shadow's self-titled game, Black Doom and his army inhabited a Black Comet that would pass by the planet every 50 years. It's likely around that time that Black Doom was able to make contact with Space Colony ARK and forge that deal with Professor Gerald.
I think he contacted him through telepathy because remember black Doom has that remember on Shadow the Hedgehog game how he was able to talk to every human on earth
My guess is that when the black comet passed by black doom scouted things out (especially the giant space station), and saw an opportunity in Gerald’s increasingly desperate research.
I'm so glad to be getting Shadow the Hedgehog 2. It looks like they're really sticking to how his character was by the story's conclusion. The recent animations we got and the quality it's been a while since I bought a Sonic game, but I'll definitely be buying this one.
It’s a shame because there are times when he is pretty decent but when it comes to the overly flowery poetic dialogue and some sentences, he always acts like he’s delivering Shakespeare or drawls into it a bit at the end

I love Shadow and all, but the older I get, the more I laugh at the “ultimate life form” being a goofy looking cartoon hedgehog 😂. “Yes I made a giant lizard prototype and then an alien came to make me a deal and we decided on a hedgehog!”
Well, it is likely Shadow was based on a mural on Angel Island depicting Super Sonic fighting Eggman and he thought it depicted him creating Shadow.

It’s not weird because Mike Pollock voice Dr.Eggman and Professor Gerald on Sonic X and Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 game I’m more surprised especially that Mike Pollock reprise his voice as Gerald Robotnik only a little different. I hope for once that a game has a lasting effect in the lore AFTER the game finishes. Like i hope they dont just move and not acknowledge shadows new powers. But knowing how sonic games work, he'll end up losing them at the end of the game just like sonic does with literally any power he has every got minus the chaos emeralds

In Shadow's self-titled game, Black Doom and his army inhabited a Black Comet that would pass by the planet every 50 years. It's likely around that time that Black Doom was able to make contact with Space Colony ARK and forge that deal with Professor Gerald.
I think he contacted him through telepathy because remember black Doom has that remember on Shadow the Hedgehog game how he was able to talk to every human on earth
My guess is that when the black comet passed by black doom scouted things out (especially the giant space station), and saw an opportunity in Gerald’s increasingly desperate research.

I'm so glad to be getting Shadow the Hedgehog 2. It looks like they're really sticking to how his character was by the story's conclusion. The recent animations we got and the quality it's been a while since I bought a Sonic game, but I'll definitely be buying this one.

It’s a shame because there are times when he is pretty decent but when it comes to the overly flowery poetic dialogue and some sentences, he always acts like he’s delivering Shakespeare or drawls into it a bit at the end
