    Man, that explains a lot, thank you so much! Going to put it at 1, at 2 there is too much stopping power on the fornt wheel (dual motors, obviously).

    With the right Vesc motor controller and a 3 wire analog output brake handle you can scale the regen EBS so the more you squeeze that harder the ebs regens and stops you.

    Hey, I love your videos! They exactly explain same issues I had with mine scooter. Could you please tell me though, if the EBS kicks in at an instant when you press the brake lever or does take like 0,5 seconds? Cause mine does have a little delay.

    You mentioned that you use EBS 1 because EBS 2 throws you into the handlebars. The controller on my 36V Razor EcoSmart scooter has only one connector for EBS labeled "low level brake". When I touch the brake lever it throws me into the handlebars. Using the mechanical band brake alone is like dragging your foot. Can you recommend a controller that offers EBS 1 and 2. I can't seem to find one.

  • @paulstir
    @paulstir 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you need a break lever to engage the ebs ( or can I use a thumb throttle to connect it up ? , much appreciated for the demo btw

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brake lever works best since the ebs isn't progressive. It's on or off so having a throttle type lever wouldn't be of much benefit.

    Hi i just ordered emove touring.. It has only rear wheel brake.. Do you reccomend turning down the ebs to lowest setting ( non zero) so that rear tires dont lock up? Will that have significant increase in braking distance?

  • @thom1218
    @thom1218 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is only advertised on nanrobot's ls7, not the d6 or d4. EBS is just regen, and it's really common on electric bike controllers as it slows you down, adds the energy back to the battery, and saves your brakes. You shouldn't have to pay > 3k to get it on a scooter.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Not the same as scooter ebs. You're just talking about regen brakes.

  • @stepanpark1776
    @stepanpark1776 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a LS7+ ... And when i was going 50mph the ebs randomly kicked in, while i was in full throttle, it almost wiped me out.. luckely my steering damper was almost maxed out and that helped alot to be able to control the scooter from making a 90 degree turn. So be careful not everything you get new will work 100%.

    • @GingerOnWheels

      3 reasons. The scooter goes 32mph top speed on flats. The scooter has crazy loud clanging front suspension. The scooters handlebars are cracked and JB welded together in that video.
      The new scooter fixes all of these things.

      @@yogadude1234 I'm trying my best to work with Nanrobot to upgrade my D4+ to an LS7, but they are being very unresponsive about it. It seems like they really just want to replace my D4+ with the newer D4+ version. There is a D4+2.1 , has rubber suspension bushing, optimized speed , and better handlebars (allegedly), so they are going to replace my current scooter with that.

      Ginger On Wheels I hear you. Hopefully you won’t end up like me. I bought an Urbe Pro GT, Segway ES4 and even made my own Speedway 4 clones on Alibaba. The Urbe lost all its power and the battery is impossible to replace. @@GingerOnWheels Kinda twisted, now, on what to buy. It's mostly for my daughter and the last purchase I wanted to make was a refurbished Kugoo S1, good in Speed and adjustable steering pole height! But, I have to give up on online purchases, couldn't be shipped (Cyprus!). So, I have to buy local rides. There's one in a Toy Store branded Chic S-11, www.e-jumbo.gr/athlitika-eidi-paichnidia/skates-patinia-scooter/ilektrika-patinia/ilektriko-patini-1100-230-w-97x17x-99.5x45x107-cm_1489510/ Also with EBS but only a 4Ah battery. I'm gonna ask if it might be the latest version which could have a 5Ah battery already. Now, that I saw in your video how dangerous a front EBS brake can be, I'm a little worried and almost tempted to buy a cheaper Skateflash S1 or so which has the motor in the rear. Best I go to the shop and let them give me the manual in order to see if EBS can be switched to OFF. There's also the Xiaomi MI Essentials (non-adjustable steering pole, slow, inflatable tires (for me a negative, since I don't wanna pump anymore money into that vehicle, later). I'm also concerned about battery life. It's so hot here in Cyprus that most of my RC lipos puffed up and lose performance quite fast. Xiaomi will offer 6 months on the battery but they state it very wishy-washy: "significant performance loss" - LOL, can mean anything!

    • @GingerOnWheels

      #2 is too powerful for me. Feels unsafe.

    • @MinhvuLy
      @MinhvuLy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels my problem with #2 is that is comes on unexpectedly. So at 30 mph and you slightly pull on the brake levers there's no resistance nothing at 20 mph. Only at around 15 mph or 10 mph it comes on suddenly and strongly. I wish they would program it for strong resistance at the moment you trigger it with brake levers.

      @GingerOnWheels  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MinhvuLy ya... the idea of electronic brakes is really cool and some scooters, like the Macwheel do it really well. But unfortunately Nanrobot just did a terrible job executing the electronic brake feature. It's usable on the first setting, barely. But ya, #2 has issues.

    Its kinda weird
    I owned a 300 euros E-Scooter with EBS (only front EBS brake no disk and disk at rear)
    I tried it in snow and sometimes it keeps the tire from locking up and gives u enough time to react otherwise if u hold it long till stop u probably fall and lose control
    I put some screws in the tires for grip and works perfectly 😂
