    I love my City Pro. I set up the new app today and the regen setting reset to 8. The app says "a higher regen setting will recharge the battery less".
    I like strong regen so I won't rely on the drum brakes, but what is the optimal setting for the most possible battery power regeneration?

    Yes I do have a question. Can I get for once a clear answer why some people believe that regen breaks causing some kind of damage to controller of your scooter or I don't know, engine? Using regen breaks on 3rd out of 5 setting on my Vsett 10+ for 2nd year now and seems all good. Saved my ass a couple of times actually!

    I have a question. I really like how inovative are Apollo scooters but there is 1 thing stopping me from buying. Why don't Apollo offers higher capacity batteries?
    Lets look at Phantom V2. Highest battery configuration is 60V 21 Ah (1260Wh)
    Vsett 10+ offers 60V 28Ah (1680Wh)
    Then there is Teverun Fighter 11+ ( Minimotors collab) which offers 60V 35Ah (2100Wh)
    And lastly there is Bluetran Lightning. Also from Minimotors a 10 inch scooter with 72V 35Ah battery (2520Wh)
    It's hard to justify buying Apollo when others offer drastically larger batteries. I don't wanna use my scooter only for commuting but also for trips without having range anxiety.

      Hi Martin,
      We definitely understand your concern and battery capacity is one of the factors we do consider when developing a scooter.
      While we are always looking to give our customers as many features as possible, we do have to find a balance between performance, tech (quality of life features), and cost when designing a scooter. Additionally, we've found that the average trip is only about 10 km, so the current range of our models is more than enough for most users.
      We do appreciate your feedback and our product development team definitely keeps the community's suggestions in mind as they design upcoming models. As an example, our upcoming 2023 Apollo Pro will come with a max range of 100 km!
      We hope this clears things up, and please keep the feedback coming! Thanks! :)

      Hey Martin, after reading yours and Apollo scooter comments. During the summer I took my city pro out for rides and max out the range (99% it's regain baking. 1 accelerating, 1 regain breaking.) Spend a good 3.5 hours on the road, bike paths, and sometimes side walks. Travel up to 50-70km in 20-50 km/h.
      At first I wanted the Apollo pro too. After considering the weight of the scooter. City pro, it's a good balance for me. I use the scooter for joy rides in fall and summer.
      Oh fyi, if you want more range. Bring the faster changer. I took into Starbucks, at the time they seemed cool if I just camp there for an hour with purchase goods. After a hour, I think I got a good up to 50% charge. Just be careful, the power bank gets very very hot. I only use the faster charger in travel more than 60 km or more than 3 hours on the road for long term.
      All and all, if you can pick up the city pro without issue (unlike me). You'll be pleased as I did with my pre-order.
      Ps safety it's very important (please wear full body armour. It's very dangerous sport.)

    I saw on a pundit's video on the Apollo Pro, that if you have Regen set to 10 (max), and you apply the front drum brake, that the lever being squeezed ALSO triggers Regen braking. Is this true, or are both drum brakes autonomous? When I squeeze either the front or rear brake levers, is Regen involved at all? My understanding is that it is NOT.

    Please fix ur firmware and app. I have an Air 2022, I have to re pair every time I want to do any function of the app, also please let me set the top speed higher and/or allow some kind of overspeed control, whenever I am going down a hill and it goes over 35 (throttle on) the braking engages and it goes back to 30.... very annoying . The braking setting appears not be linear. Sports mode should allow continuous power output without sampling speed etc... leave that for the noob modes please. Other than those small gripes they are great scooters, the whole world should own one.

    What would really make this ultra cool would be if there was a way to adjust the deadzones in the brake levers. So after you adjust your calipers, you could then open the app and adjust it so the Regen brake starts and ramps up within the travel of the lever.

    I grew up riding motorcycles of all kinds. Starting riding when I was 10, owned many different brands & types. After you get to know a bike, you discover the best ways to brake. I like using both brakes to stop, and when I need to stop faster, I'll rely on the front brake for most of that intensity since it won't lock up as easily as the rear brake.
    With Regen, is the braking handled by BOTH front & rear motors? Does the M1 analyze anything other than the '3 wires', or will it permit lock up of the back wheel?
    I've got a '22 Ghost, have its regen set to max (5) & I still go through brake pads every month or so. Regen in the Ghost kicks in but just lets the regular brakes take over after an initial pull. I ordered a '23 Phantom (to be shipped soon), so regen is one thing but motor braking is another. I prefer aggressive braking (or at least to have the option), I just don't want regen to lock up my back wheel while ignoring the more effective front wheel braking.
    Thank you!
    Oh, and kudos for the Apollo Pro. Nice to see focus on making it a true scooter of the future rather than the unregulated attempted murder that is the e-scootering industry's race to propel teenagers past 200km/h on 50kg planks. 100km range is a huge accomplishment. 100km/h is another thing altogether.

    • @BruceWayne15325
      @BruceWayne15325 ปีที่แล้ว

      In RG's review they said that the regen won't lock up your back wheel. Their favorite combination for fast braking was to push the regen brake and front brake simultaneously. This is both ergonomically efficient, and it prevents your back tire from skidding out from under you. As always be sure to lean back when braking hard.

    • @NunchucksHabit
      @NunchucksHabit ปีที่แล้ว

      The regen can lock up your wheel, especially with regen set to max & on dry pavement. It's not bad, in fact in the last 400kms I've put on it, I've only used the standard brakes once. The standard brakes are just awful, just as they were on the Ghost - but they're only on stand-by for me now. The squeaky, scraping mess that are standard brakes on the Apollo Ghost & Phantom are insanely bad.
      Still, I'd like them to improve the disastrous app first. I'd pay $300 more to have a standard ignition key rather than the "get your phone out, unlock it, open the app, re-connect to the bike, tap Ride" nuisance. If you leave the Apollo app running after turning off the scooter, your battery will drain like it's on actual fire. Apollo really should have thought this through. They seem to have hired some teenager, like the child of someone they owe money to, for Android dev.@@BruceWayne15325

  • @qcnicolas
    @qcnicolas ปีที่แล้ว

    Thx for the video, but how does it not hurt the battery? I mean, 2x800w motor demand 1600w at full power right? So if I brake to the maximum, going 50km/h to 0 in few second, I will have maybe minus 1600w as well right? Going in the battery in few sec? Whereas the chargers are only 150w or so... Isn't it killing the battery?

    • @ApolloScooters
      @ApolloScooters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nicolas,
      Thanks for your question! The Battery Management System (BMS) will ensure that the current/power going back into the battery does not exceed the maximum safe amount. As for the excess energy, it will be converted into heat.
      Additionally, the charger only charges at 150W since the power is being transferred over a long period of time. The regen is able to transfer a higher amount of power since its only for a short time duration. This will not be close to the 1600w mentioned but higher than 150w.
      We hope this answers your questions! Have a good day :)

    May be a dumb question, but I just bought a Ghost 2022 and cannot find a definitive answer on whether it has regen braking. Does it? Also, if it does have it, I see in the P settings that setting 11 changes the Regen setting. What effect does this actually have?

    • @ApolloScooters

      Hi Wade,
      The Ghost 2022 does have regen braking that also kicks in when you press the mechanical brakes. While scooters with dedicated regen throttles (City 2022, Phantom V3, Air 2022) can use regen braking exclusively, the Ghost uses a combination of regen + mechanical brakes.

      @@Funkiyy There are 3 ways you can brake. You can use only the regen thumb brake, which is fine for non-emergency stops.
