I wish mine was like that. Whatever was in my 90 Ranger (sat for about 24 years) turned into a gooey sludge. Real GOOEY, as in, I let it drain overnight and had to use a scraper on my catch pan to get it sorta emptied. Don't have a good feeling about getting it clean, but I'm going to clean the catch pan to figure out what should dissolve to goo.

In this situation. This is when a plastic tank is your friend. You know all that black varnish isn't rust from the tank. I like plastic tanks except when they crack. Yeah no wonder. No way that was going to run on that fuel! That truck runs great! I was excited when it fired over! It takes awhile sometimes to get a prime on the pump. Congrats!

You should have changed the fuel filter too. When you put a new fuel pump in you should prime the pump just by turning the key to turn the pump on. Then back to off 4 or 5 times before trying to start it.

Should all fuel components have been replaced in this case? Lines, injectors, pressure regulator etc?

That does run so smooth. I know this video is a couple years old, but please, definitely, change the oil next! And then the rest of the fluids and filters.

would've like to see how you removed the tank.Me and my brother have to replace the gas tank on a 94 Ranger xl dealing with a lot of rust.not sure if we have the right straps for relacement.NICE JOB on your repair.

On the Ranger it's easier to remove the bed bolts and slide the box back. There are videos out there. Removing the tank is better if you want to replace the tank, but simple pump replacement is easier by sliding the box back 10+ inches seeing the bolts are on top. BTW, don't use a impact, use a ratchet and cheat bar. (2 1994s here, now. Been there done that)

Nice waste of money, also nice you like the idea of liquid gas when you can hook up a vaporizer system for less than 30 bucks max. An new sending unit is more than likely worth more than the truck itself when you first bought it non running.

I’m trying to get my step dads old 1996 ranger running and I replaced the battery, flywheel, starter, clutch, fuel filter, fuel pump, oil filter and replaced all the fluids and the truck sounds like it wants to but just can’t get there any suggestions??

20 year old fuel? You shouldn't even turned the key without replacing pump, filter and regulator. Instead you chose to put that bad gas through the entire fuel system. Won't be buying a car / truck from you.
