Great video, however one thing that was not made clear is why you tend to prefer the Médaille d’Or cream over the Creme Universelle on belts?
Saphir Creme Universelle has become my main leather conditioner. Just love the stuff! (And the beeswax scent is heavenly)

Great content. I have also found that renovator tends to strip fine layer of wax whereas leather lotion does not. For black shoes it doesn't really matter but lighter shades especially with patinas I prefer the gentler MDO lotion.
Can you tell me which is better for conditioning my boots, venetian shoe cream or saphir universal cream ?

Saphir also makes a Saphir Nappa Leather Balm Medaille d'Or (no solvent and no wax - just conditioner) . Just to confuse you more - you now have 4 choices in conditioners. I think there are others. The reovator did take off a ton of color from my new Antique oak Meermins - never again on new shoes with a nice color. They should make a table comparing all these.

Hi! I have a new leather sneaker, with cognac color. The original saphir method : 1 Brush cleaning, 2. Loiton or Renovateur ,3 : Cream 1925. What do you think, renovateur or lotion good for lighten color shoes? I dont like much darkening my shoes... And which prefer you from cream, this shoes, "cognac color" or neutral? We prefer Saphir always but as for what will shine more that will be debatable depending on what leather or color it may be on. Conditioning will depend on wear but we recommend once every 3-6 weeks

I used the universal leather balm on multiple shoes. Stripped the polish. Is it just me or is there anyone who had the same problem?

I’m wearing a Diesel lambskin leather jacket, but the Saphir Renovateur seems to have a very strong smell that I would not like on my Jacket...
Do you have any recommendations that will make my jacket shine?
The Saphir Renovateur works best on footwear. The leather lotion works better for jackets. Usually any smells should wear off after 1-2 days if you let it breath in the open

Thank you for the video. In some videos you mention using creme delicate to conditions N light color ostrich boots because of the jojoba in it, would you recommend using the saphire universal creme too?
You can but the delicate cream has much less chance of darkening

It depends on the upper type. CXL leather you would use the oiled leather cream for smooth leather the renovatuar

Yes you can

These creams or the renovateur? They’re new
On white I would use the Saphir universal cream. It’s not to heavy with waxes. After conditioning them be sure to waterproof to prevent staining. The Terrago Nano is what we like to use most.

A shell Cordovan jacket?? That would be awesome to see. But I would use the leather lotion on it unless there is something different about it from shell Cordovan. If you can email some pictures I can take a look
I've used Creme Universal or Lexol on horsehide for years. Either work just fine.

Which one of these leather lotions does NOT leave a hazy/waxy appearance that you have to buff out?
Saphir Renovateur leaves white residue, especially when it rains. What is this shit? And why are people rating this stuff so highly.
It could be the salt minerals left behind after winter that come up with the rain. That’s what we see out here in CO most often. The cream has small amounts of wax that should help protect it from the salt damage to the leather but good idea to recondition. Also water from sinks have small amounts of minerals in it that can do the same
@@CobblersPlus I think this stuff is clogging up the pores of certain types of Calf Leather personally.
Apparently, Saphir Universal conditioner does not clog up the pores or leave residue, as stated in it's product description. I may give this a go instead, but Renovateur has caused white spots on numerous Calf Shoes i own. Rain., Tap water or otherwise
@@wicked-witch-of-the-west I noticed some white residue on leather bag when using the MDO. It isn't a big deal but if it prevents the rain from penetrating then I believe it is doing its job with the beeswax.
I agree, have had same result for any leather treated with Renovateur in rain also. Any season not just winter. esp on darker leathers. I have no idea why happens.
