I want this family and any families considering telling their story to know that these videos have educated me personally, and while I may have once taken a pain pill from a friend for a headache or back pain, I now know not to. It’s small, but I want to say out loud that what I’ve learned may have saved my life and the lives of those I spread this knowledge to. I’m so sorry for your loss, and thank you for your mission to warn others.

I'm a recovering heroin addict and I have seen fentanyl take over 20 of my friends...many of whom were not even opioid addicts. Living here in Washington, about 20 minutes from Seattle, and it's everywhere. Until a politician or city council member loses someone they love to this poison, nothing will be done. If it's not affecting them, it's a back burner issue and it makes my blood boil to find out another friend of mine since childhood died 7 days ago from an accidental poisoning. RIP Blaine, no one deserves to lose their life to this poison.

Dear Richard, Congratulations on giving up the opiates!! Well done. I was on them for burning, nerve pain in my back & neck for 12 months exactly from 2018-2019. Then, out the blue my Dr. suddenly stopped prescribing them. I was Not slowly tapered off of them, as I should been. I went into horrific withdrawal 26 hours after my last pill & the withdrawal was worst for first 30 days & very slightly got a bit easier after each week past the 30 days. Felt like I was in withdrawal for 3 months. After that, I never, ever, wanted to take another opiate pill.💥Congratulations for Toughing it out on your own… you were on opiates approximately 30 years… an extraordinarily long time. I’m certain the Withdrawal was Hell… yet, you Persevered & did it all on your own!! I’m very happy for you. You’re a great example of dogged determination & perseverance. Very best wishes for a healthy, happy 2024. You’re a great example to others! God Bless You. 🙏🇨🇦

Im greatfull for Texas for posting the videos, i have an adult son (40) and it's come to my attention that my son has been using pills and fentanyl is definitely my nightmare for my son and because of people like you and your wife being willing to tell us your story i probably wouldn't really know how bad it is. I’m here and I’m listening, thank you for sharing…I lived through my experience, I don’t know how…but it was scary, I was awake and then I was out…I woke up, then the depression almost got me after loosing my brother…it wasnt a drug this time, but I woke up again…and I’m so grateful I did…life will never be the same for me, and I refuse to take it for granted…thank you for telling your truth, and Blain’s story! I try to talk about this epidemic to every parent I meet, and especially my children…they are young (14 and 10,) but in this climate it’s never too early…I tell others of my experience and pray they heed my words, because it’s an ambush…you literally have no defenses…education and sharing these gut wrenching life and death experiences are our only defense at this time…until the government does something about this, we are left to our own devices! As a public and as caring humbled humans, we share because we do care…even though reliving it is too so painful and takes time to recover from going there…we share, because we want to prevent others from experiencing the same devastation!

Very refreshing to see a parent calling out the media, why aren't these cases all over the media, how is it possible to shut the world down for COVID, and for 2 years that was all the main stream media talked about...... Where is the help for American teens, it's disgraceful, someone needs to do something and quickly.

I didn't know much about Fentanyl until yesterday after a long discussion with a friend who is an anesthesiologist. It's awful that we live in a world where you can take a few opiates or benzodiazepines and then end up being poisoned to death by Fentanyl. In the early 2000s, while I was in college, some of my fraternity brothers used to have Xanax parties. Not all of us would participate but I did. I know that's irresponsible and I'm embarrassed for being such a fool. To make matters worse, we had no idea where the Xanax came from. We could have all died in these times. I'm so sorry for the loss of this promising young man. Prayers and well-wishes to his family.

Remember that this young man died not from Fentanyl poisoning but from Carfentanil. It is 100 times more potent than Fentanyl. Terrifying.

Blain Padgett, that's a football player's name if I ever heard one!! You know that your son is playing football up in heaven!
I witnessed a person's spirit leave their body seconds after death. That person was my aunt Joan and although I was 15 yrs old at the time I know what I saw and I will never forget it! I know that I was so blessed to have witnessed seeing my Aunt take her last breath and watching a white mist come from her upper body and travel down to her feet then up to the ceiling where she dissipated. Rest assured knowing that Brain's spirit is now in heaven. I truly believe life after death. God Bless.

My mother was put on fendynal in her last months of living back in 2010. We had never even heard of the drug prior to that but she was on the patches and we had to be taught how to put them on her by the vna nurse! Always had to wear gloves and had to take it off within a certain number of hours! We thought, wow this must be some powerful medicine, so i can imagine somebody taking it that doesnt really need it! Sympathey to the families of loved ones that lost those close to them from this powerful med. God bless!!

When I first started watching this I was listening to the Dad talk about him and his son being best friends. I have that with my son also. They were both born in the same year. It’s an awesome testimony of what a truly great father you are. My son struggles with his own issues, but he knows I have his back. Same as you did Dad. This story breaks my heart. 😢💔

TH-cam is "TV" for many of us... just so the dad knows this is reaching a lot of people... and helping folks like me who knew next to nothing about fentanyl. I do agree with the dad's point though... there should be major PSAs about this. I was in a motor vehicle accident a few years ago and at one time might have taken a pain pill from a friend. That is something I would NEVER consider from this day forward. Peace & blessings to the family, and RIP Blain 🙏
