  • A family shares their story of the loss of their 21-year-old daughter to fentanyl poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I've raised a child through this scourge. It killed his best friend.
My son's survival through this chemical minefield is a miracle,
But it's not just the street dealers that need attention. If one goes to prison, another immediately takes over selling to his clients.
The biggest problem is the regional producers and importers. They have _tons_ of product at their disposal. I've heard that it's so easy & cheap to make...the enticing idea of escape thru one pill is great.🙏🏼😪

@@IRosameliayou're wrong but I can see where you're confused , our family lost my Nephew to Fentanyl and he knew what he was putting into his arm it was his drug of choice. There are pill users like Xanax, coding, and purcocet not sure I spelled the last one right... You need to know this in case you have a friend or someone you know, Lots of people think they know how to use and handle Fentanyl so they make it their choice of drug use. In NY last month these parents took their little one year old son to daycare and they got the phone call that their son was being rushed to the hospital, 4 more little babies were also rushed to the hospital also, the little boy died and the 4 other children were fighting for their lives ( they are better now) it was Fentanyl poisoning. The daycare worker and her boyfriend were selling it and she let the boyfriend bring it into the daycare and she helped him bag it up and the children had it in their skin because of the worker or inhaled it IDK . You can look it up, also there are fentanyl labs just like meth labs, I just learned about the labs yesterday.

I am so sorry that your beautiful daughter had to be one of the numbers in this horrible drug pandemic we are in the middle of...i am so sorry. I have three children, one daughter and i could see the pain on your face throughout this video even when you were chuckling about past memories and it hurt me. I try to comment on all the videos i watch on this channel because i think it's very important for the families on here to know that because of your story and sadly the many others on this channel that i was able to talk to my children about the drugs out there. That it doesn't matter if the pill is stamped with a perfect imprint, if the pill is in a pharmacy bottle and it states it's percocet and the pill is imprinted and then it's googled and still says it's a percocet.....they have pill presses that they use and they look identical to the real pills....they could have just had a bottle that was from the pharmacy at one point and they maybe just reused that bottle....i tell my kids all of that and also just because it's from someone you know, your best friend, etc. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING....it's not like "oh wow i tried that and it was a bad experience" It's oh, i have died and left friends and family behind grieving wondering what life i would have had.....i commend you for being able to come on here and speak about your daughter especially because it was not even that long ago....i hope you know what a service you are doing by sharing this....i am so sorry again that your kid had to be one of the kids we lost...thank you, sending much love from Oregon

Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free.
It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.

We already tried that with DARE, which didn’t do anything to solve the problem simply because kids found out that a lot of the information taught by the DARE program is rooted more in propaganda than in facts. But even if DARE campaign had taught real information, we would still be in the same place because this problem is too complex for a single, hard and fast solution. If we didn’t have a for-profit healthcare system, we wouldn’t even have fentanyl or OxyContin.

I’m one in a many who unfortunately fell to a “chronic pain” situation in my 40’s. I was a nurse,.. nor disabled/retired. Chronic pain needs treatment just as other medical situations in order to have quality of life. It was depressing to have such a life change,..but in time I accepted it and new I would be in pain management treatment for the rest of my life. Before my spine injuries and multiple surgeries, I never took any kind of medication except aspirin/advil. I had no choice to except the fact that I had to take pain medication on a daily basis, along with depression medication, anti-inflammatory medication, etc…. However,..I took these medications responsibly and never abused them, ever. When the “War On Opioids” law came about which left myself and all chronic pain patients in sufferable situations due to our doctor’s being restricted of prescribing much needed medications,…it not only caused this,..but it created a much worse situation,..which is this fentanyl crisis!! As a nurse, I knew that this War On Opioids law was not going to go well or end well. Now,..look what’s happening. Drug cartels will always find another drug or other substances to mix together in order to sell on the streets as recreational use. This is the was mistake in history that the CDC and all involved has ever made. I pray that this is fixable for all that are suffering in pain these days,..and all that are dying from overdose by just one pill now. It’s worse than ever and I don’t know if this mess is even fixable. Prayers for all.🙏

    Holy…. 🥺
That was, sadly again, a really tough one to watch! To see Marissa‘s mother trying to not burst into tears was really hard to not cry with her.
What always gets me is the fact that many of those parents try to blame partly themselves for not doing enough or for not seeing enough… I know for a fact that it would be the same to if I‘d loose one of our two sons, but trying to find any kind or form of guilt in yourself is not right, but as I said, it‘s completely understandable.
Thanks again to the team behind @Texas Pictures Documentaries for spreading the word and showing other parents or relatives how insanely dangerous Fentanyl is and that this crisis can and presumably will reach one of our houses next…
