Precisely, esp since there will be VW group parts all over the interior. For reference, this is the price of a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ AND a Mclaren P1. I dont think its worth anywhere near the asking price

For a split second i saw the thumbnail saw the car saw the badge and thought to myself wow Hyundai/genesis finally made a car I would want to buy... then I realized it was a Bentley and I would never be able to afford it 😂

i dont know why i genuinely love the design so much it looks futuristic but not too over the top and the cars stance is just amazing

They dont care. Its an investment, the owner of one of these can probably sell it for 2-3x more the minute he bought it. Think of it this way. An E46 BMW is cheap as fk, but if tomorow everyother E46 got sent to the junkyard and crushed, the one that still exists will sell for more than this Bentley is, same E46, but different story.

The only way this makes sense to spend that much, is to sit on it for quite some time, then negotiate and use it's rarity as leverage. I cannot see literally wasting that much money. Especially if you have children.
For £2M it better be Batur than any other car they've made

I'm surprised by Rorys take on the visuals! I remember when I saw video on this model about 6 months ago and I adored the looks! it looks so much better than any of their current models (and for the record I really like the look of all their current models!) it's just so pretty!
It's just underwhelming considering the price and the current Bentley line up.

I genuinely think the Continental GT Mulliner looks more expensive than this, by a good margin. It looks fantastic but I wouldn’t spend this much on one if I had the money

@@focusedman5759 down to the interior plastic of the dashboard. The only thing İnsignia misses is a gold rotary selector. I mean who in their right mind would pay this much money for this. It’s like a Chinese knock-off (only the badge tho) at this point
If I was contemplating spending £100k on a car then this would not be in my top 10 of possibilities. So the fact that its £2m just shows people with that kind of money to spend on a car have much different taste to me. Genuinely wouldn't go near it at £100k.
People have different tastes in cars, no matter the price level. I mean there are tons of people spending 60k+ on fugly SUVs.

Problem with the car is its actual monetary worth is much less than the production price for each individual part barring the car “tax” many manufacturers add to them. Add the fact it’s a press car I don’t they would be bothered but I see your point 😂

What differences are inside the engine to a standard car?
As a fan of Bentley, i'd really like to see more regal models like a new interpretation of the Arnage, that are less sporty.
The fact that a Bentley (over glorified VW) charges £2mil and still charge 25k for a sound upgrade 😂😂

Its a TEST CAR. It will get crashed soon regardless. They give the car to multiple journalists first and then once its done bentley will use it for feedback to change the production models
Rory is professional journalist doing his job. There is something called insurance to cover risk while working. Rory himself would never have to pay a cent.

I mean it's a question of taste what you prefer, but I really like this new design language of Bentley. I always found the crystal headlights a bit to much, so I especially like this change.

This upmarket taycan is very similar to original. The price is basically due to stuff like headlights that cost this much to develop for small batch run.

Something Roary said caught my attention. Now that EVs are becoming more popular and it frees up packaging from the traditional front engine layout, what's stopping manufacturers from bringing back 1930s styling for cars and using that front space for luggage. Think Bugatti type 57 or that maybach cabrío 6 concept from a few years back. Would be far more interesting than the current breed of soap bar looking cars and it would make for amazing grand touring cars.
If the price feels uneasy, then it ain't for you, I guess that was the point, but... It is very beautiful and the purple creates all sorts of thrilling emotions.

If they change their general design to this, I'm pretty sure they'll lose their customers and a lot of their fanbase. Bentley is loved for its opulent design and its extremely beautiful and detailed interiors. This looks like a Toyota inside and a Ford outside.
