      I remember grinding for A supports, it was worth it in the very end. I love seeing how two characters' different personalities meet when put in a romantic situation. I also love how Lute is adorable in the A support conversation.

    Artur's outfit looks way nicer than Moulders as sages, the over-riped Banana color still buggin me till this day.

    I feel like making lute a mage knight is better because of her low con
    anything stronger than elfire weighs her down
    But its FE8 sooo

      Consider a 15/20 Lute instead of a 10/20 or 20/20 for playstyle consistency:
      Mage Knight Lute with Elfire: (25 + 10) = 35 Mag | 21.85 - (10 - 6) = 18 Spd
      Sage Lute with Thunder: (28.45 + 8) = 36 Mag | 21.85 - (6 - 4) = 20 Spd
      Mage Knight Lute with Thunder: 33 Mag, 22 Spd.
      While not considering different utility like how sage has access to light magic, or mage knight has 1 extra movement, it shows that Elfire is a bad weapon for Lute due to the sheer Wt, even a sage with thunder is better than a mage knight with elfire. However, if both use thunder, sage does 3 more damage while sacrificing 2 speed. It solely depends on the enemy's speed though, 17 or higher, mage knight is better, sage if 16 or lower.

    I’ve tried both class routes for Lute. Personally I feel that MK is a far superior choice. Sage gives access to light magic which is nice, but never necessary. Lute doesn’t struggle against ANY magic in SS. Due to both her high evasion rates and decent resistance. The reason why MK typically performs better is just for utility. Not only does she get 7 movement but she also gets access to canto. Allowing her to be far more flexible than just a damage dealer. She’s dealing damage, healing, and rescuing all at the same time. Sage is definitely better for post game content. But for the main story MK performs a lot better with her increased utility. Damage isn’t an issue either way. Lute ORKOs nearly everything in the main campaign after a certain point. They’re both great options for her but I just feel like MK is a lot more coveted. You never need that extra five magic in the main campaign. Like I said she has no trouble killing things either way. But the extra utility for MK I feel edged out Sage quite a bit. (For the main campaign)
    Edit: It doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme since the game gives you access to the tower and skirmishes to do if you so please. I’m just talking in a typical fire emblem setting where utility is always more valued over damage.

      In this game, you can't deal damage, heal AND rescue at the same time.. Who would even use Seth if Lute could do these 3 things at once?

    "Lute's combat sprite as mage knight fits her art more," Well Artur's combat sprite as a bishop fits his art much much more than a sage IMO.
    Although promoting Artur to a Sage might be the better option because of Ivaldi; since Bishops with S Class in light don't benefit from Ivaldi. But in terms of art and combat sprite resemblance, Artur fits better as a Bishop IMO. It also fits his nature and character more.

    Amazing work! My favorite pair along with Joshua and Natasha :D I usually make Lute a Sage and Artur, hmm sometimes a Bishop and other times Sage

    Artur and Lute help me a lot when I play FE8, I use them as bishop and sage, they are very powerful.
    And I give their support too. Their interaction and support dialogue is very fun.
    btw the FEH Weekly Revival Banner will focus Lute after few week, I finally have chance to get her!(〃^∇^) Saving Orbs now....

    What surprises me, Is when Lute changes classes to Sage, Her hair is much longer for some reason, her portrait is the same why will her hair be longer?! Enjoying the series by the way, I have seen every episode so far.

    Sage Artur gets D rank staves, not C. C staves is upon Bishop promo. Very relevant for reaching good staff ranks in main game without grinding.
    Also I may have PTSD from trying to test whether Sage Artur works in Eph route LTC. Spoiler alert it doesn't, you need bishop's higher staff rank.
    EDIT: For Lute Mage Knight is definitely better as it gives her 6 con, enough to wield Thunder without AS loss which is significant when it's the best anima tome and considering neither promotion gives speed, it basically means promoting to Mage Knight gives her 2 AS. It also ironically gives her better magic before cap as she gets +2 mag on MK promo compared to +1 on Sage.

      Must have left it there when I did comparison with Bishop, will change it later.
      As for Lute, Con doesn't really matter much because she will lose at least 5 Mag because of her decently high mag growths. Even a 10/20 MK Lute maxed out Mag on average, you can imagine the difference for a 20/20. For smol magic users like her, or even Nino, I find that Thunder to be a much better tome than Elfire because of how light it is while having a slight bonus to critical.
      Monsters mostly use dark magic, Lute having access to light magic is quite useful. Unlike Artur, he already had light magic to beein with, having Anima doesn't help much compared to Lute.

      I mean for the main game which is really all that matters you don't need the magic cap either way so just getting more power quicker is better. There aren't enough dark magic monsters that are actually threatening for light magic to make a difference, considering the weak weapon triangle and the fact light magic is strictly worse for anything other than Slayer, which is why Artur prefers Bishop (and the higher staff rank which even in a non-LTC context means he's super close to Physic).
      I find arguments for postgame to be pretty meh because you're just grinding up and buying stat boosters anyway so there's no real strategy involved. Just look at the floor 10 runs in all these, it basically boils down to "bait one enemy, kill, repeat".

      In the main game there are lots of monsters in the last few chapters. Lute probably wouldn't survive a few shadowshots if she were a mage knight. In the main game, you probably wouldn't even need to use her. Just Seth, a bunch of early game healers and all the other pre-promotes would do, using other characters would slow you down if you were doing an LTC run.
      Also, LTC isn't the main way of playing the game, that's why the arenas and tower/ruins exist. Players can do whatever they like, not restricted to a certain way of playing.
      There are also no ranking rewards like tactician bonuses in FE8, LTC in FE8 is just a self-assurance or an ego-boost that you can do it in less turns, not showing that you can perform better in the game. You can also say that Lute is better as a sage because you can abuse the tower to max her stats while your turn count is not affected outside chapter maps, which isn't true.
      You should get what I mean though. Good units mainly come from dealing with the enemy, not just between stat gains. That said, I can agree with your arguments for Artur, not for Lute though.

      @@Rengor1997 i find arguments for maingame to be even more meh because you're just using seth anyway, even less strategy involved. just look at the ltc in all these, it basically boils down to "throwing seth in the middle of nowhere with just javelins, stock up javelins, repeat".

    As a naive kid I was so excited to give Ivaldi to Bishop Artur until I realized that the anti-monster properties of Ivaldi nullified Artur's Slayer. Man screw that crap why can't I just one-shot Fomortiis?

    A lot of people talking about the con stat which i have not much knowledge about. Could someone please explain it to me? What does a higher con do? It is the only one stat i never paid importance to so i never ever cared to buy a body ring for my units.

      There is a con for each character, if the weight for the weapon is higher than the character's con, the character will lose some speed. Let's say a weapon's weight is 11 and the character's con is 9, the character will lose speed by 2

      It stands for constitution, which is an indication of body weight of that character. It affects rescues, as stated in the game description. All units have an aid stat, which is the maximum con that unit can rescue. If a unit has an aid stat of 10, he can rescue units with a con stat of 10 or below. Foot units have an aid stat of con-1, while for mounted units it is something like 20-con. Also, it affects the attack speed loss, if any, of a unit because of its equipped weapon. If you set the combat preview setting to show the detailed stats, there is a stat called AS, which is the attack speed, after considering the weapon.
