The "interruption" is part of what makes a singer from Central Asia "Honest" and "Authentic". A common goal for all of us.
@@jrogersdal you don't need to be harsh bro...he thought something else, this guy explained to him what was the purpose of that yodel so he now understands that is a tribute for the vocalist of A-Studio, he understands that is something traditional to Kazakhstan, he didn't knew before but he knows now. When you see a person giving his honest opinion about something you know that he is for real, and when he is amazed about something that Dimash does it means he is really impressed, he doesn't fake it like others just for the views and subs (which i find very pathetic).
Dimash started singing lessons when he was 5 and is now working on his PhD. He is a musical innovator, and one thing he does is include sounds from other cultures: Arabic, Kazakh, Chinese, etc. The yodeling that puzzled you is rather arabic in nature. He mixes lots of different styles, colors, octaves, etc. He tries to surprise you every time.
This particular part, which you called "weird yodel" (it is not yodeling at all, but - technically - a guttural vibrato) is an ethnic-styled, onomatopoeic lament (which has its counterparts in many cultures and musical styles). From a technical point of view, it has little to do with the Arab macam or the Azerbaijani mugam, which styles are based on a type of falsetto.
For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhou Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went tot he Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did. Dimash mum is opera singer, dad is contemporary singer. Dimash inherited best of both then added twenty years of hard work. He exercises, swims underwater to gain lung strength, won’t drink ice drinks as it affects his voice. He still lives with parents and grandparents when in Kazakhstan. There are no scandals around him, He simply wouldn’t use phrases like trying to get into a girls pants. He is so respectful, even though he could have any girl he wanted, I’m sure.

The song was originally played in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Kazakhstan's pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The main singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and died in 2015 of a heart attack: His name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics of the song are by the famous Russian poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist at A'Studio, with long hair and a mustache.

That ethnic run at the end is easy to understand if you know that Dimash is Muslim. The whole song is a men’s prayer to a loved one for sex. At he end he start feeling his genes start working in him - that is the Muslim religious run goes. Later, he recorded another version of this song, where he did a long run at the end. He simply brings it to climax.
Funny thing is his beliefs does not let him be a womanizer, he is very humble and a great person, while you are right many of girls love him, he does not do that.

@@SweenyTV It only seems "Odd" because it is a style of singing from a different Culture. But as Hamlet says "There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your Philosophy." The "interruption" is part of what makes a singer from Central Asia "Honest" and "Authentic". A common goal for all of us.
@@jrogersdal you don't need to be harsh bro...he thought something else, this guy explained to him what was the purpose of that yodel so he now understands that is a tribute for the vocalist of A-Studio, he understands that is something traditional to Kazakhstan, he didn't knew before but he knows now. Dimash started singing lessons when he was 5 and is now working on his PhD. He is a musical innovator, and one thing he does is include sounds from other cultures: Arabic, Kazakh, Chinese, etc. The yodeling that puzzled you is rather arabic in nature. He mixes lots of different styles, colors, octaves, etc. He tries to surprise you every time.
This particular part, which you called "weird yodel" (it is not yodeling at all, but - technically - a guttural vibrato) is an ethnic-styled, onomatopoeic lament (which has its counterparts in many cultures and musical styles). From a technical point of view, it has little to do with the Arab macam or the Azerbaijani mugam, which styles are based on a type of falsetto.

For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhou Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went tot he Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did.

Dimash mum is opera singer, dad is contemporary singer. Dimash inherited best of both then added twenty years of hard work. He exercises, swims underwater to gain lung strength, won’t drink ice drinks as it affects his voice. He still lives with parents and grandparents when in Kazakhstan. There are no scandals around him, He simply wouldn’t use phrases like trying to get into a girls pants. He is so respectful, even though he could have any girl he wanted, I’m sure.

The song was originally played in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Kazakhstan's pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The main singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and died in 2015 of a heart attack: His name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics of the song are by the famous Russian poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist at A'Studio, with long hair and a mustache.

That ethnic run at the end is easy to understand if you know that Dimash is Muslim. The whole song is a men’s prayer to a loved one for sex. At he end he start feeling his genes start working in him - that is the Muslim religious run goes. Later, he recorded another version of this song, where he did a long run at the end.
