I was present at this concert. No matter what I say is going to be an understatement. Watching him live is mind-blowing. He is out of this world. I do not have enough words to describe his talent, his voice, his presence on stage. He is amazing.
I don't think Dimash's pain is personal. It is the pain we all feel. It is humanity's pain. He becomes the story, and embodies the emotion of it, and delivers it straight to us, soul to soul.

Thank you so much for reacting to Dimash. Would you please react to Dimash and his performance of Samaltau from his home studio in Kazakhstan which he live-streamed for the Tokyo Jazz 2020? The song is performed accompanied by two musicians playing traditional instruments. The song tells the story of a young Kazakh man who has been drafted into the Russian army to fight for Russia during WW1 and is force marched from his home. He sings of his love and longing for his country and his fear that he will never see it again. Kazakhstan only achieved independence from Russia in 1991 and suffered greatly under Czarist and Communist rule. Dimash was born in 1994, only 3 years after Kazakhstan became independent, so the suffering of his parents and especially his grandparents, who live with Dimash and his parents, is still current in memories. His rendition is very special and inspiring.

You mentioned women falling in love with him, from his singing (not to overlook his appearance). Well, I have known several people who HAVE fallen very seriously in love with him, at least two of them having been men. No, not gay men. In each case, a man who was seeing Dimash for the first time and found themselves unable to think of anything BUT Dimash, for days or even months afterward. All the symptoms, and these guys were straight. How baffled and confused they were when this effect developed, always during just the space of one song, and then developing further over the next weeks. In these two cases, the young men made no effort to conceal what they were feeling.
Then i began to find it occurring in additional men--men whose feelings went deep and painful as they realized that they loved someone who, not in any way, could they ever have a relationship that was even remotely normal and workable. In most cases, it ended with the fans just listening to Dimash every waking hour when they didn't have to be at work or some other requirement, for all they wanted to do was listen to him, and watch him, as he sang. It seems that sometimes, perfection can send signals more powerful than the social ideas of what is permissible. No one tried to pursue the matter, and surprisingly, as they gradually let their friends and relatives know, and if those friends and relatives had heard Dimash sing, they didn't tease about the matter. They seemed to understand.
I'm not, of course, making any sort of recommendation, here. And I should mention that more of the female Dears, than male ones,have developed deep feelings for him. Even in that case, there would be little likelihood of any future for those who fell into THAT well. 'Dimash seems to have a pretty strict expectation of himself, regarding what he owes to his family. Being the eldest son, part of that would be, a bride who isn't utterly unacceptable (but preferably one with whom his mother has an immediate liking, and who will take care of the daughter-in-law's traditional responsibilities. However, if he enjoys her company enough to want her along on his tours and concerts, that might be acceptable---until she came into a family way. Dimash definitely is expected to give his parents grandchildren.
Ah, gossip, gossip, gossip! Enough of that, now. There are so many other things that I'm SUPPOSED to be writing!
THE GOOD thing with Dimash is, whatever language he's gonna sing the emotion or feeling is absolutely ''contagious'', though you don't understand even a single word you will be amazed how he connects to his listeners, and his genre can be from pop music to neo classical to rock to opera etc., this boy is a genius....
