That muffler shop is a complete joke, can’t believe they installed the first muffler like that 🤮
1 in 2 out , then back to 1, then into 2 again? It was BS from the factory! Then the "muffler shop" really fucked it off, and blamed the tips, WTF?
Yea that’s crazy. I know I’ve seen everyone get all kinds of mufflers and never had to remove tips. This my 4th Silverado with exhaust and I never heard of that before

What a hack job
Put a new factory exhaust system on my 04 5.4 3 valve Triton F-150. I had an original OG 40 series Flowmaster that had been laying around for decades in my garage. Had it installed with my new factory exhaust. Absolutely the sweetest sounding truck I ever driven. She's a little loud... but I'm a car guy. I love it.

your truck has an active exhaust set up, all that sound you were hearing was the backpressure from the valve being completely closed and no other route for the exhaust to go through.

Did they delete your diffusers from the muffler back to the bumper?

Glad you got that issue fixed, sucks the shop did you like that, they did some good welds at least.
Yes the final weld seem to be ok
You had zero exhaust outlet in normal mode because the exhaust valve was closed and the other non valved pipe was welded closed. Have you had any problems with that engine yet?
so far no problems, she running like a champ

@JOHNNYUPLOADZ take it to a mechanic tell them what happened and pay to have it checked. If the head gasket is leaking that muffler shop is liable.

Yea, it was better than removing the tips. I took the tape of no problem
Why ? Just leave it stock till it needs something that poor truck .

They are complete engineered systems.
Do the whole thing or leave it alone because all the money and time you spend to accomplish what.
