I love how quickly Red Harvest ends their duel. The moment he sliced the guy's arm the fight was all but over.
JonnyBauer
Exactly!!
Defang the Snake 👍
The moment Denali acepted the challenge the fight was over
sorry but i love the woman dude
Denali almost won it with his swipe at Red's eyes. But yeah he destroyed him.
Well it wouldn’t be a western if someone didn’t fall from a balcony onto a table.
True that and every second world war film has an abandoned piano in the town square
🤣
Nope😂
@@chipsthedog1 and may God have mercy on your soul if you make a Vietnam movie without Fortunate Son in the sound track...
Id say Tombstone is one of the best western movies of all time and no one falls from a balcony to a table

@@soberscrim299 Arrow to the knee? Still alive? Not if it had rattlesnake poison on the tip.
In my opinion, Vincent D´Onofrio performed in this movie an amazing death scene. Totally in character and epic.
True
What he ☝🏾 said
When I first saw it I thought he was still gonna get to the guy before he died lol dude was a monster
That is some Stanley Kubrick level acting from Vincent. G,damn..
Best character
This scene was sad, I really liked him. Even though he made a living with bounties for natives, you can tell that it disturbed him deeply, he had a hard life living with the knowing of all the life he's taken. That's why he prayed so much, and when Sam shared that sad look with him when he's introduced and Farraday remarks bout his bounties for "reds" and he gently says "Now that's part of another story ain't it?" and his voiced breaks a little, you knew he didn't enjoy his life and lived with his guilt. He was a gentle man in a cruel time, and when he looked up as if to take in the blue sky one last time, finally knowing he was gonna die, made me tear up and this made me sad. He finally did good, and redeemed himself if only once.
BaconCrazy which guy u talking bout
Why is that a bad living?
@@johnsonpious3576 Jack Horne, the big mountain man who was killed by Denali, who Red Harvest later killed and called a disgrace.
BaconCrazy for a man like him, for his redemption and the regrets he has had throughout his life there is a place in heaven for him. He is now at peace, no more fighting or bloodshed.
@@brilicusgaming6922 Vincent D'Onofrio isn't dead. this was only a movie.
Really well-acted death scene in the first half. You can see him go from battle mode into the moment of realization that it's over, and that it's time to move on. It's not showy, but it's quite beautiful, actually.
I love that “you’re a disgrace” represent us 💯💯
@The One dude you should sign up for the Olympics with that kind of mental gymnastics
I loved that young native dude."ur a disgrace"We r warriors. We weren't suppose to kill For money and power and sure as shit not women or children.
That's not true 😂 maybe for some warrior cultures but definitely not Comanches
@@tristan9680 lol what are you talking about? The Comanche tribe wiped out other tribes leaving no survivors only for westerners to find a village brutally slaughtered from hunters to the women holding their babies
@@Xarl-VIII I read somewhere that the apaches valued the scalps of women and children as it showed a warrior was clever and stealthy enough to strike deep inside enemy territory. Honestly though, cruelty and murdering innocent folks isn't unique to anyone. The Apache and Comanche did to others what others did to them, same as my ancestors slaughtered and enslaved the Celts and then the Normans came and did the same thing to the Saxons. What the Germans did in the 40s is no different to what anyone elsewhere has ever done. The Germans just did it on an industrial scale with gas, instead of doing it with guns, blades, fire and starvation.
Actually this is very much how they might have acted, just without a white businessman telling him what to do.
@Aldough_green I am no Comanche but I have friends that are. I’m Anishinaabe
Red Harvest is just too awesome. He should have his own movie.
YES!!!
I would love to see what he went on to do after the group went their separate ways
2023 yes i completely agree
"You're a disgrace," as he looks into his dying eyes.
Now that was nothing short of satisfying. 😏
Is like
"You are a disgrace to our ancestors"
Or
"you are an embarrassing to our clan"
I fish pumped and was like "Yes, he avenged Jack" even though that may not have been his intention.
@@Blue-mp5mh probably both. Red Harvest was iirc a disgraced (by his tribe) Comanche, and the Comanche were known for being fierce warriors. They also had honor. What Red is saying is he’s a disgrace for mercilessly and needlessly killing an unarmed woman and injured man. He basically disgraced himself by aligning himself with the enemy.
@@robdog1245 naaaa the chamache would kill unarmed men ......r*pe and take women home to be slaves...but from what I got out of these he said you're a disgrace for not putting up a better fight probably cause they are a warriors race
I remember thinking it was going to be a big epic showdown between these two. Then it lasted all of five seconds. And it honestly was even more satisfying that way.
Native Americans are like the ninjas of the American West
Andrew Ziegler because they are
Proud Native American here
Yes. We are. Although Apaches are better at it than us Navajo. Sigh.
Red Harvest was neither. He is an Alaskan native.
Andrew Ziegler You got part right let me ask you a question have you ever heard of The Modoc War?
That "you're a disgrace" line always gives me goosebumps.
I was sad when the big guy died

TTundragrizzly he's representing his nation, not the country that genocided us.
TTundragrizzly Alaskan Pride 😘
Duane Elliott what country is that? I've never heard of genocide in America or Canada. Just lies around kitchen tables
one of the most underrated movies of 2016
It was a bloody remake because the film industry loves low risk and lacks new ideas.
@@thankyouforyourcompliance7386 good to know. As if sequels and even 'originals' don't borrow a ton of stuff.
The fight between the two Native Americans reminds me of the fight at the end of The Last of Mohicans. A short, brutal, fight between two men from similar cultures but who took very different paths in life. It wasn't said in Mohicans but the "you’re a disgrace" was implied along with the revenge. A great way to finish out their arcs in the movie.
Look up the fight if you haven't seen it.
Y tambien lo hicieron con gia. Joe con los ninjas
One of my all time fav movies and scenes. Wes Studi and Russel Means played it PERFECTLY.
I think Sachem, the Huron chief gave Magua the, You're a disgrace, line when he proclaimed before the tribe that Magua's path was never the Huron one. Chingachgook didn't need to repeat it. I love that film.
Native Americans aren’t all alike
@@diegolopez000 he never said that
I watched this movie in South Korea being Native American myself, hearing the reaction of the Koreans when they saw Red Harvest standing behind him was priceless my self pride in being a warrior went up knowing the Korean were exited to see what would play out as much as I did.
The Army Bear
Thats amazing. Im native American also. I always wondered if people in east Asia were taught anything about american history such as the Natives. We learned some history on europe asia and africa in our schools on the reservation.
Cool. Navajo here.
Grey Hururelly
Ya at eeh
I cant get the Asian gasp noise out my head now
@@jaydude7165 I know it's been awhile. But as a Korean, we had a similar history (being invaded, massacre, etc.). In our world history classes through out 12 years in school, we are taught very well about Native Americans in general (as whole, not specifically tribes). I can't say on behalf of all asian countries, but at least i know what's going on in Korea.
I remember my father going “That man is a disgrace to Natives.” Right before that line
You mean he watched the movie?
ordinary guy not before he said it
did he also say the same of the private army of White Men that controlled the town?
Red Harvest is my favorite of the Seven. I appreciate the fact that they went diverse with the characters, and the fact that they have a Native American cast in a lead role. Martin Sensmeier, portraying Red Harvest, is from Alaska, and he is of Tlingit, Koyukon-Athabascan descent.
I liked them all it was great casting and everyone played their role beautifully.
@Mitchell Hart It's also a bit more realistic to what one would've expected in the actual Wild West: black and Mexican cowboys.
Horne was my favourite
Vincent played it perfectly
Interesting...when I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, I had a friend who was half Sioux and half Athabascan.
A diverse cast is pretty par for the course in Magnificent 7 movies (I think there is five all together). This is the first time they had a Christian and a Korean though. I think the fourth one had a crippled Confederate and Black demolition expert.
Trash talked him before killing him, what a legend
Its ironic how Horne is killed by a native after he spent his life hunting them. Still sad
Maybe that's what he was thinking while he looked up at the sky.
Almost as ironic that the other native killed the traitor native afterwards!
Red Harvest was amazing!!
And he was beautiful 😍
He made me gay for a few minutes
When the Commanche are like "Look man we love you but you gotta go" and name you Red Harvest. Thats not really a problem to be sought out.
That actress did a great job conveying absolute terror.
Preach, amazing acting, she sold it.
It’s Jennifer Lawrence so no surprise.
@@akilmerThat's not Jennifer Lawrence. It's Haley Bennett.
Linda esa actriz mus respeto 😊
I feel like if this fight had been just 30 seconds longer, accompanied by a bit more urgency with Red Harvest saving the towns people it could've been epic.
it was longer..
spatorade i
He was only there because Denzel appealed to his sense of belonging. He says earlier in the film that his tribe told him to go into the world because his path was different from theirs. I mean look at the redhead, he saved her life just now and she's still too terrified to breath around him or even look at him. He's there because it's the right thing to do despite how people treat him for being native.
@@Mrbodhisattva1 that's why I love the movie bc it shows how they are all heroes for doing what's right even despite some parts of the team wouldn't in reality be as respected at the time or even in this current time .
I mean the people at the village said there thanks but still .
The way he dodged that knife swing and threw that dude onto the railing like he wasn’t twice his weight or anything is the stuff of the Gods.

Big guys final performance was outstanding!
Vincent D'Onofrio is a one of a kind actor.
red harvest easily the coolest character and also the Mexican dude
They made it a little too easy for him, but a nice fight scene nonetheless.
totally anti-climatic and pointless.
And thats the good point about it. Cause thats how fights usually are. 4 minutes of knife-fighting with parrying and fighting on after several stabs and cuts is just movie bs.
Note that the red-faced guy cut his opponent on both arms first, then killed him. THATS how a fight works.
real knife fights are like 3 seconds long tops
Not really. Old and fat vs young and fast.
this is the comment of a person who's never actually been in or seen an actual knife fight. youve been spoiled by movie bullshit lol
Not sure how prevalent wrestling was in the old west, but that 'belly to back' slam/throw was perfect greco roman. Makes me love his character even more!
When he looked up into the sky he saw Boromir looking back down at him
one of the best wild west movie I've ever seen
R-Force Reactor.........The best western I have ever seen, by far, was the Kurt Russell/Val Kilmer movie, 'Tombstone'....Many a movie made about Wyatt Earp, but this one is really different, and very authentic. Great story line, wonderful sets and most of all, a superbly perfect cast...Even people who don't particularly like westerns, I am certain would still get enjoyment out of this one !
R-Force Reactor same
You probably haven't seen a lot of them but I respect your opinion tho
You really need to watch more westerns my dude
Watch 3:10 to Yuma
I would watch a whole prequel movie about Vincent D'Onofrio's character, he was great
What movie was that

When you find out that the Comanche bad guy is the voice actor for John Redcorn from King Of The Hill
I met him a few years ago at a flea market, he was selling spices and signing autographs
More like John Deadcorn now
That makes him more badass in this movie lol even tho he was bad
He was killed because he wanted to heal that woman like how he heals the wives of other men.
Red Harvest is Comanche, the other Native American is Lipan Apache. Apaches wear head bands. Comanches didn't wear head bands when they were hunting or raiding. Northern tribes such as Crows, Pawnee, Sioux Fox wear some head dress. Not the big one with feathers just one big enough to intimidated and little enough to maneuver.
Red Harvest: You're a disgrace
Pocahontas: *Cries*
One of the very few remakes I actually enjoyed
The best dialogue in the whole movie, "You're a disgrace"
Badass lines ever
The magnificent seven is one of the greatest movies ever
Jack's death broke me. Loved every bit of the movie.
Jack's bravery is impressive, walking wounded in front of the guy until his last breath.
it is a movie----fake
@@dethray1000Are you sure? It looked pretty real. I mean, the arrows were stuck right into him. Can't fake that.
Nice, but I felt that one HUGE missed opportunity was to have some sort of personal vendetta between Red Harvest and Denali (perhaps Denali was a traitor to Red Harvest's specific tribe or something). Would have provided more motivation and depth to Red Harvest.
TheKersey475 The entire red harvest thing is mysterious , when they asked him why did he split from his tribe he said that the elders told him it was not his path (to go with the tribe in whatever errand they were doing or maybe it wasn't his path to stay with the tribe). Moreover, Denali is already a traitor to them, by abandoning their principles and killing for money.
Missed opportunity more was Jack Horne (Vincent Dnofrio) not having prejudices against Red Harvest since his backstory was being a fur trader and having killed Indians. Or exploring maybe why Horne doesnt have any prejudices against Red Harvest and Red Harvest confused and maybe they bond - with Horne quoting scripture weirdly and Red Harvest like “I do not get this guy”. Thus cementing a friendship sort of and Red Harvest vs Denali to have an avenging weight to it.
The hint is still there because Denali is notably wearing a US cavalry uniform. The US cavalry being famously involved in the slaughter of many Native American tribes, so when Red Harvest tells him "You're a disgrace." He's likely alluding to Denali's involvement in those massacres as a race traitor.
Matheus Arruda it depends on the tribe. Some tribes did side with the US and scouted for other tribes. Some did not and took the uniforms as trophies. If you look at some native american cultures the US army uniform has been integrated into it in one way or another. I guess it’s similar to the way the army has adopted native American designations for helicopters. You have the Apache gunship, the Iroquois, the Blackhawk, the Kiowa, the Commanche, and the Lakota. The army holds a designation ceremony that is attended by Native Americans.
The younger one's sudden appearance makes you shiver
0:49 this part was real bad ass because he’s not scared that he’s dying treating it like “Heh So This Is Dying Huh Well I Did My Best”
Ngl that beard was dare I say.... magnificent.
What a performance by Vincent dianfrio amazing
Yeah. The character deffo made up for the bad guy from Jurassic world.
The native American was my favorite character
He was a total BADASS! :D Loved that character!
So good. Silent but deadly.
People: Wow! This dude takes a lot of arrows before he die. Such a tough man.
Boromir: Am I a joke to you?
Man, D'Onofrio can act. That is a very good death scene.
Two natives fighting each other on their land is like watching "the last of the Mohicans" again. Love that movie.

Such a talented actor he also plays Wilson Fisk in daredevil on Netflix
E-MAN and Gomer pyle on full metal jacket
Law and order criminal intent
his best role was in the cell

And the alien in the first M.I.B.
Awesome casting in that you have actual Native Americans play Native Americans, an actual Mexican from Mexico play a Mexican, and an actual Korean play an actual Korean. And the white people too I guess altho is the southerners actor actually from the south?
The Flying Lion technically a Mexican is a member of the native nations. It's better to say a white spainard playing a white spainard.
The Flying Lion He was playing a Chinese man in the movie.
The Asian guy was Chinese, not Korean
And an actual black as a black guy, AMAZING
hahahahaha!
This is one of my top favourite films.
It was sad when Faraday said "so far so good" after getting shot. Anyone else?
A reference to Steve McQueen's line from the 1960s Magnificent Seven.
No Name
My boy had heart!! After being shot several times he knew he was gonna die so he decides to ride up on the Gatling gun and blow errybody up!!
I love how he jus refuses to die and when he did hes like it’s really happening
My heart when the big guy died. He was like a big bear.
Still one of the best remakes I've ever seen
This film along with Tombstone are some of my favourite cowboy movies
That knife and tomahawk fight could have been epic
The native american warrior was my favourite in the entire film. Skilled warrior with bow and arrow, and melee combat as well. And that fight proved how ridiculous screaming is when you charge at someone. It really was just an intimidation tactic, nothing else. Can't scream yourself to a victory when the enemy is skilled and doesn't get phased by your vocal capabilities.
It's supposed to bring fear into the hearts of the enemy..
And on a mission!!!!
It still disappoints me that she didn't thank him for saving her.

two of my favorite characters in this film. Im a big fan of Native culture as my step dad was Cherokee.
Always the kind hearted Comanche to the rescue
Jack just looks like "welp, that went poorly"
So sad when Jack died but he went out fighting and praying like I expected. Vincent played the hell out of the character and the Native battle is easily a top 10 moment of the movie, especially following Jack's death. I remember screaming at the screen when I saw the fight building up lol let's goooooooooo!
I like it when the knife is so sharp, you can hear it cutting the very air through which it passes!
I love seeing the tomehawk and
