I enjoy seeing this blade design come out from time to time. Years ago, Both my good friend Mr. Bob Loveless and I came out with this design of a compound grind individually at the same time. He called h is the Pro-Hunter, mine the Compound Hunter. both were true Drop point designs. Oddly, mine looked more like a Loveless than the actual Loveless.
I don't know what the design has to offer in a folder as the intent was to have a thick area towards the ricasson and a thin belly and tip for skinning where as the thick section was meant for joints.
We both ground our blades very with a very deep hollow grind and a very thin edge on our Dropped Hunters. Normally anywhere between 10 to 15 thou. behind the edge. At times for very fine work, even thinner. This was the reason for the added thickness at the rear of the blade to add strength for rougher work.
Sadly we were a bit ahead of our time with these. They look a little odd and never really caught on back then. I did give one to Ted Nugent and he loved it! Now there's a man who knows how to field dress game.
Now suddenly I see the design popping up all over the place. Allen E.'s design for Houghe for instance. Another old friend. I don't know if people are now appreciating the use for such a blade,or it is simply something different in a sea of similar bladed offerings so widely available today. .
I see that Wee is really stepping up in design and technical +quality. It continues to be the Golden Age of Knife Making.

Mr. Walker? Guys, we have a living legend posting here.
Is this Michael Leon walker??? Whoa … holdup. That story was the best comment I’ve ever seen anyone just randomly leave on anyone’s knife video. Holy crap what just happened!!?! 😳🥹
@@jonduncansakurawallknifegardenLOL,No, but I have admired Michael and Patricia's work for many years.
I was very much against my will forced into medical retirement. I was known for my work in the collaborations with the Loveless Shop.

@@michaell397amazing tribal storytelling…pass it on and thanks
Haha. Man I was ready to be starstruck. But it sounds like you've had an interesting career yourself.
Looks Cool and I can tell by your excitement it needs to be held to appreciate its craftsmanship, Thanks MC 😎
This looks awesome! My favorite WE knife will probably always be the Arrakis fir sentimental reasons. That knife was what inspired me to start a serious collection and i love it's wild look. It's a damn good cutting tool as well but id love to grab one of those when it's available.
That new flipper tab is really cool. I love the shape. Thanks MC
I want to love it so bad but it’s blade design and handle shape just don’t do anything for me, glad you like it and that others seem to as well
MC! I absolutely love your review! I think you’re right on about everything you said. I also think that the price is great. I went to GTC online and saw something somewhat similar to the Solid for 3K! Oh, I should also say that I’m getting the same Solid you have in the mail today. LOL. My Huntsman will be here tomorrow. Love the review. Freakin awesome!
I would be thrilled to get it as a gift, but I wouldn't spend the money myself. There's just so many American made knives around that price range on my wish list.
I love how much We are flexing. Stunning. My only nitpick is that I do wish some of them weren't limited designs. Bravo anyway.
what a beautiful piece of art ❤
Okay.... at first glance, this is MY kind of knife. It is so very strange yet functional. It doesn't look like just another "an knife"
I pre-ordered this variant from KC but it has yet to ship. I think these are late for some reason.
Would you really put this over the WE Eschaton, Arrakis, and ÆternA?
I have sold a lot of my knives but am holding onto my ZT GTC ?0022? Bc its such a fun fidget knife.
Deceptacon poop! I love it. Got mine on pre-order. Thanks MC
It looks like it straight from something like Altered Carbon. It’s amazing
Man, it's sad that you have to explain to some of these geniuses here, ways in which this knife is an awesome deal! Even if you are not a collector or enthusiast, you should be able to see that this knife is a functional piece of art designed by the Herocio Pagani of the knife world, that has been masterfully recreated so that more people have the ability to experience this amazing tool because the original GTC knife will run a cool minimum of $2000. Yes, that is the bare minimum! Lol!
Thanks MC , for letting me know this thing is finally available, I saw it and the cybernetic on Jared's channel from his Blade show footage and couldn't wait to check them out!
It's equally sad that you don't recognize that a $450 lunchtime apple slicer...err, I mean functional art, might seem ridiculous to the masses.
who cares what the masses think? perception doesnt change the material value so what exactly is your point other than "literal cattle herd mentality = right" lol@@jimdavidson7771
Uhh, then I guess......moo?
I agree and am tempted. So beautiful. However the lack of opening options kills it for me. I may change my mind. I will check out more gtc, hypersonic looks interesting. Good review mc.
I don’t love the blade shape, but I love that this may be a sign of some wild things to come. 😄
I'm getting a coated version because I love the look. I might carry it to more formal events, or pull it out for a nice steak, but if it's not for utility, I can't be too mad about hardness of 58.
Can you do a video on the 10 best knives that are available and cost between 400 and 500 dollars?
Super cool knife. Not sure why the Ti treatment commands the upcharge, though. It looks like the same orange peel they do on the Esprit, which is a $220 knife. Anyway, if it's still available when my knife budget recovers I will definitely add one to the collection.
That's like saying the Paysan is overpriced because the Spydiechef is $250.
Apples to oranges.
its an integral homie
I picked up the Nefaris and the Nexusia. Love them. Can't get behind this one.
Upon a closer look at this thing thanks to this video, I must say, what’s a cool heck of a knife!! 💯🤯
lol by the way, the picture of “robot poop” it’s been growing and growing in my head since you planted it there 😅😂
$425-$450 depending on which color/style you choose for a integral knife realky isn't nt that bad of a price. But waiting for them to make 10,000+ of them till my preorder spot in allocation is reached will suck !! I'm sure they make all the same color/styles together, and not as theyre ordered separately ?!?
Wow. Yes please.
Seems to me like WE and Rike seem to be having a good old machining ability hot dog swinging contest. Hopefully it continues so we see even crazier stuff...
I'm so jealous, but love the vids tho !
Who was this knife made for..? Me, that's who 😊
Plenty of people disagree with me, but I'm willing to sacrifice *some* function for form. I like the different aesthetics, as long as you can still actually use the knife without forcing it.
People bag on "gas station" knives, but y'know what..? If they were made with good quality/materials by default, that wouldnt really be an insult.
Just my two cents
When Data told Tasha that he was "Fully functional", this is what he pulled out from under his skant.
"and 8 inches and THICK!"
Dang, this is the knife I order after a few, and keep as a paperweight on my desk because I’m scared to carry it.
Rike has an integral for $125, I realize there's more to it but the kizer brat is an integral also. Once you have the cnc code down, it's just repeating it.
Ya that's quite a bit different than it being titanium. Exponentially so. Much more risky IF something goes wrong because the stock material is more expensive, and it also takes longer to create and has a MUCH more dramatic affect when it comes to wear and tear on the equipment. I've spoken with many OEMs about this. Titanium makes things more difficult and the machines have to be recalibrated more often to maintain perfect tolerances. Not cheap. No way around it.
G10 though for sure. Cheap way to make an integral. I'm all for it
thats just straight up not how machining works
@@peen2804 I design fixtures for circuit boards & that's how our CNC machines work. I have worked with lots of different materials: tungsten, brass, titanium, steel, 10, delrin, lexan, G10, etc. What exactly are you referring to. Because that's how CNC machines work, Waterjet, laser, endmills, plasma, etc. Load & unload materials & repeat. I'm not referring to manually machining something on a mill. So explain what exactly you are you referring to.
That may be a “vapor blast” finish on the blade.
It might as well be a custom for how well it is made.
The Buck 110 in the year 2199.
We Knives. Making knives Great Again without raping their customers. Bravo!
Is this knife bulletproof? Can you try throwing a steel ball at it please?
I think I love this thing and hate it at the same time!
Yessssssss im first on MC's comments
Agree with everything you said about the knife. If you are a real collector you'll know it's a high-end knife with average price. There are just no American made knife can compare at the same price. The design is just like art which for someone who are not artistic will not seen. Love EVERYTHING about the knife! Hope later it will comes with previous metals like damasteel blade and timascus handle.
Super advanced design...looks like something from Star Trek...thought I'd say Star Wars eh ? Great collectors pick.
Starship troopers? Just funniness dude!
I’m sure it is great in so many ways, but the aesthetic does not connect with me. I can certainly appreciate the craftsmanship even if I would never buy it.
I bought this in China and it cost me $480. I like it very much, but it's a pity that there are no discounts brought by the country of origin.😂
Hey MC let me borrow $400 real quick and I got the rest, thanks bud.
Love that hidden/collapsing flipper tab... everything else about that knife makes me want to vomit.
Man, I've got some swamp land in Florida to sell you if you think this looks good.
We also have the Orpheus that is also an integral
Looks cool but not as cool as the solid
Check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why 2 lockbar cutouts and not 2 lockbars 😂
i consider it cheap 😂 beautiful piece!
Looks like a solid polished turd to me but I’m sure many will love it. Looks well built and smooth action. Just not my style.
Was literally my first thought when I saw the knife. Glad someone else said it.
This is not really that expensive considering WE's normal prices
I don’t understand the blade
Still cheaper than the James brand Barnes
This knife looks like a ..... We we knife
Dang lefty sympathizer...
I was on the fence about this model, until you opened the blade.
Then I threw up in my mouth a little bit .
No they got at the dollar less than 500😂
The blade design just doesn't do it for me.
Taking a closer look at the ownership of "american made" knife companies and realizing what exactly most of them support takes away the distaste I had for chinese built knives. China isn't subjugating us and brainwashing our youth at the moment. I'm divesting. My next knife is a WE.
Im sure this is a fantastic knife. I just find it ugly as hell. Looks like Kryten's head from Red Dwarf.
this knife looks like a robot turd
the turd still makes me curious for some reason lol
No jimping and super slippery. What’s the point? And it’s a CCP knife.
^this dude didn't watch the video^
The more you look at it the better it looks,,, it's starting to make my mouth water😂
I can appreciate the complexity here, but all I see is a cyber pickle. I think it's just too ugly.
"Cyber pickle" made me laugh
Hmm . This knife looks like someone just learning Photoshop . Little too busy and nothing fits together. Just my opinion. I like unique, but this reminds me of a car crash
Coming from somone that clearly has no idea how hard it is to make a knife like this is not surprising.
@@badimpulses17 I work for an old timer who has made custom knives for decades, I've seen it done and have a little bit of an idea... Also, I said "just my opinion". But I guess I'm not allowed an opinion unless it agrees with yours huh? 🤷♂️ 🔪💩
Cons:
It's rather too big for edc and too fancy, typical showpiece for collectors.
It's heavy anyway, because integral and size.
It's expensive because integral. Only small group of people are willing to pay extra for it.
I don't dig another 20cv 59-61 hrc with such thin edge and fragile tip. Especially in such big knife. Do edc knife with 3,5" blade, which weight max 5 oz. or just do this blade to be beater in different steel with stronger tip.
I don't dig this false lock relief on show side. Poor choice. Couldn't they make relief inside handle like in Sebenza?
Notch kinda ruins lines on knife, GTC customs doesn't have it. It's nitpick but anyway...
Finish choice is kinda poor. You can buy it with that slippery handle without coating, with blue handle or in coating on blade. There is missing grey stonewashed handle with stonewashed blade.
Absolutely nothing about this knife looks appealing to me
At the beginning you mentioned that the knife was integral and thats Why it's worth the price? And then you said you know that a lot of people don't know what that means. And then you didn't explain it, lol. Beautiful knife, enjoying the reviews.
See the spine? One solid piece of titanium instead of the typical 2 piece construction. Sorry for not explaining further.
What are you talking about again???…Any kind of coating will bring HRC down by 1 point???
Stop talking out of your ass, what about DLC or better say TDLC coating?, ha? it has a HRC hardness of at least 72 or more, how in hell can this bring hardness down where no knife surpasses “67“ and even this is a stretch, though average is around 59/62.
It DOESN’T BRING HARDNESS DOWN IN ANY WAY, and the temperature of 480F (250C*) what is maximum to apply the DLC is way too low to make any affect to the initial HRC of the steel being used, if it does then the blade must be made from aluminum and not from quality or even super steel.
Only heating steel up doesn’t do much to it even if it glows, the way it is cooled down matters the most and it’s called quenching, if it’s cooled down very slowly in a course of many hours or even days it doesn’t change its initial properties at all, faster it’s cooled down more of an impact it makes.
