The Mercedes-Benz V-12 is a wonderful thing! The power delivery is just so unbelievably smooth and it just builds and builds. The twin turbo V-12's are sick!
This one has the naturally aspirated 5.8L M137 V12 though. Only the 2003+ CL 600s got the twin-turbo 5.5L M275 V12.
Plus they sound like super sports cars with a straight pipe

My 2006 CLS has the push start button on the shifter as well. The interior is also very elegant as well. Even came with a freaking tyre pressure indicator!

It's a B250 with 224 hp with turbo, you dipshits. And this piece of crap has max. 367 hp without turbo. "3 times the power" would be 672 hp. Far away, dudes, far away. The B250 runs no problem 250 kilometers per hour. Both cars need 6 seconds 0-100. So shut the fuck up.

It goes so smooth and stable at 260kmph! Looks like they did labels 260 as max, because assumed this speed as nice cruising speed.
For those years it was a supercar. For now it is a legend.
They are speed limited to 250 otherwise it goes faster

@Alexander Ratisbona back when Mercs were properly engineered. No fake sounds and no compromises on quality unlike most new cars that utilise crap grade plastics in areas the eye does not need to focus on. Most surfaces are covered in stitched leather and alcantara in the CL.

Solche Idioten gehören aber auch von der Straße, sorry - und vor allem, findest Du selten so eine freie Autobahn. Also meistens fahren dann alle schön mit 110 auf der linken Spur und rechts wäre frei - da sollte man mal mehr machen, als nur immer gegen die "Raser".

with a V12 i'd certainly hope so. 200 km/h is not that fast by modern standards. i've seen 2.5+ metric ton SUVs with 3L, 6 cylinder engines get up to that speed with relative ease.

I'm 26 and I'll take the wooden interior and the oldschool gauges anytime over what passes nowadays as "sporty".
Back in the day, mahagony-wooden style look, was seen as luxury, class, dominance, perfection. I still prefer this style then brushed aluminium shit of today.

Not a hope with only 367HP. Speedometer always shows more that real speed. If it went over 265 real speed that would be a major success.

My goodness, if I ever move to Germany, I will start a petrol station business so that these guys can drive fast everyday.
6.13 € a gallon ("cheap" ROZ 95)...think twice before moving to germany...you can go as fast as you want (well, not everywhere, most of the Autobahn has a speedlimit nowadays...because of wimps and whiners) but you can see the money coming out of your exhaust while doing that.

I have the 2003 CL 55 AMG (C215), which is the supercharged V-8 with 493 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The interior is exactly the same as this car and I will say that mine is in the same excellent condition as this car. As nice as the 2001 W220 V-12 performs, I'll keep my car. It would be interesting to compare these 2 cars on a track. This is an excellent video and I commend this guy for shooting the POV video, particularly as I can show my wife what she misses when I'm alone on an empty stretch of road and can really let the horses run in my CL 55. As bad as it is to speed, I have to say it's a lot of fun now and again. It's very satisfying to be at a light and see the kids in their Mustangs, Camaros and Chargers pull up next to me and blow them away. Sorry kids, there are times when us older guys get to enjoy a moment or two to recall our past glories.

Back in the 80ies a powerful Benz wanted to race our 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. Little did he know the 200 something horse power he had was great for the time when everyone on the road had 50-90hp in their cars, but was to be left sitting on the line as the old rusty mopar had a little under 500hp. Good past glories 🤌
