Even as an avid Kiwi supporter ............Gorden is the best Rugby league player, i have ever seen.
Old school, no Bull S**t and tough as nails.....
He was never a dirty player, but if you 'tested him' he would reply in spades.
Players had so much respect for him as did the fans.
Much respect when he showed that he is Human and does have a 'soft side' when talking about Kevin Walters and how he struggled to cope with that.
Gorden is the type of player that we all wish we could have been and, still today, is unmatched in his contribution to this sport.

Gordy’s intense facial expression gives me goosebumps. Love him or hate him he was a great player.
Amazing how agile he is for a 110kg bloke, he doesn’t look that heavy at all!

I came from Victoria and didn’t know much about rugby and asked a friend who Gordon Tallis was. He said “Gordon Tallis was an unstoppable machine.”
One of my most favourite players to watch when I was a kid. Would love seeing this man run a muck on the field. Legend of the sport!

For a big man he was very fast. I forgot how good Tallis was and how good he was for for Brisbane and Qld.

Fifita much more physically gifted but Gordie had all the heart never backed down and always played for the team.

I'd pick Tallis Over Fifita anyday.
No disrespect to Fifita, he's a awesome and great player.
But Tallis had that mongrel in him and knew how to turn games around and win. He was a leader and would uplift the team.

Too much is made of that tackle. There was nothing heroic about it. Some huge guy ragdolling a little anorexic dude is probably the most cowardly thing that's ever happened in the game.
Shut up you dropkick that's one of the greatest plays origin history. You try ragdolling a grown man 20 meters to the sideline. Plays like that inspire the team
