Honestly.. you actually called the Godskin Dou "reskinned"? Reskinned would imply that the moveset, skeleton and/or hitboxes were taken from something else and had a new SKIN (see, what i did there? Using the definition in a more proper context) placed upon it/them. The Godskin have meaningful lore. Don't be a dummy, smdh
Dont forget, the witches of hemwick can be made even easier by having no insight, this removes the roaming enemies leaving just the witches.... Which i still died to
@@joshuaellis8679 oh yes it does😂😭, pretty much everything he does that isn’t a basic melee attack just fucking one shots you😭, I’ve had so many runs of flawless dodging just to accidentally dodge early one time and right into one of his big attacks, it can get so annoying sometimes 😭
DS2, the RR Vanguard actually hits you with petrification, and the Mohawk rat has poison. Minor difference, but it makes the fight bearable. Plus, you can nuke the room with Soul Appease repeatedly to just win. I think RR Authority is worse, 4 rats with toxic rush you at once at the beginning, and if you get toxic, just restart the fight.
I think that this bossfight are worse than vanguard of rats Authority as you said Ancient dragon: this bossfight sucks really bad, is just like fire giant, but 5 times worse, with a huge health bar and pretty much one-shot you unles you has like the best rings posible to defend you of his attacks, 50 vigor and the best armor posible, also, the runback sucks Lud and zallen: reskin of a bossfight that is in the same DLC, but now, there is two of them, and they just doesn't work as a duo at all, and they are really anoying, also, this bossfight has the worst runback in the entire series and is not even close Nashandra: is just a really bad way to end a Game, is just super lame, i don't care if is a mid area bossfight, but as the final one, boring, at least, It has a really good artistic design Aldia: sorry, the theme is beautifull and is very good in the design, but the bossfight is extremily boring and lame, you has to wait for him to stop that fire barrier
@@jajasking9652 I never understood why people hate Ancient Dragon. It’s not hard, it’s boring. Run towards his face until he breathes fire, then run back to his toes and tickle them. The very moment you see gusts from his wings, run to the furthest part of the arena. There is no excuse to get hit by his fire attack, just run at the first gust. Then repeat.
Suprised that the boss for bloodborne wasnt Micolash, first time doing the fight it’s kinda interesting but then it just becomes a pain in the ass having to run through and defeat enemies just to get to phase 2 of the boss who has a “new” attack that one shots you 90% of the time.
He is at least a little bit interesting as a character and at least, they tried to do something new, with the which, is just a really boring and easy bossfight, and i would say that the last reborn is also worse, his attacks are soo bad the engange with, i just personally i don't understand what is going on in that fight
yeah it's a pure gimmick boss, but at least it's cinematic and pretty cool to break his skull from above. if you are trying something fun that maybe isn't super strong Wolnir is the worst if you cant meet the DPS check that he offers once in a blue moon when he actually puts his fucking hand down
@@nitrondersaftige3807 Idk, there’s a fun factor to deacons for me. Between sometimes getting swarmed by the crowd and crawling your way out, and the nice dopamine rush of killing 10 enemies at once, I don’t think it’s inherently terrible, just too easy, but there’s semblances of a fun fight in there. Also deacon’s theme is like top tier. Cant really say the same for wolnir or wyvern.
@@meepmeep9943 depends on your build, I'd say...I started with estoc and it was by far the least fun boss I had in DS3. I had to switch my entire build, because it was just awful getting one shot killed by curse due to not being able to attack several targets at once. And even though their theme is really good, they are probably the worst boss from a visual perspective.
Completely disagree with the Guardian Ape. Just FYI, you can break its posture and it's how you should be fighting (even the large enemies). Go play it again and counter his attacks instead, it's a night and day difference.
I have to agree. I still don't think the ape duo is great, but my first playthrough I played scared...recently I went back and deflected as intended and it was an absolute cake walk. I don't even think I needed to heal for that fight lol
Guardian Ape is legit one of the best bosses FS has ever designed. Such an exhilarating and amazing fight, even poses a good challenge on repeat playthroughs.
I just came to say this… Guardian Ape does not in any way subvert the Sekiro gameplay design. Although to be fair, the duo really does, you can’t take both on aggressively simultaneously, but I think it’s balanced by the extremely low health of the 2nd ape. Honestly, the folding screen monkeys, while not bad for a gimmick boss, are just boring filler on subsequent playthroughs that forego the combat mechanics probably moreso than any of the other bosses.
@@rotank638 At least the Folding Screen Monkeys were a thematic gimmick boss that worked because of the "speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil" mantra in (I think?) Buddhist philosophy which is what makes it work for the game. In Elden Ring though, the Godskins are supposed to be chasing you to stop you from acquiring Destined Death which is fine, except what's not fine is how mechanically flawed they are. They're extremely cheap and artificially difficult.
Honestly surprised you didn't put Valiant Gargoyles as the worst ER boss, I find them to be an even more obnoxious and annoying version of Godskin duo.
Yeah, gargoyles are way worse than godksin duo, since their arena has no obstacles, they have insane range and invisible poison breath thay covers like half the massive arena, but atleast they are completely optional, qnd you can get to deeproot depths in other ways
Nah, gargoyles ain't shit. Their moveset is way easier to dodge roll, and the second guy only comes in when the first is at half, so you can actually reliably take care of one and make it a level field again. I'd take that over godskins respawning, throwing fireballs willy-nilly, rolling around, stretching about, and doing the only "unfair" move in the entire game in a tiny arena
I think that's the first time I've heard a negative opinion of Guardian Ape. Though I will note that you can deflect a variety of his attacks and the Demon of Hatred's as well as posture break both.
@@skateplays8880 Honestly it does seem illogical to deflect a giant monkey fist, demon of hatred monkey fists, and giant dragon god sword i didn't even know till i looked up a tutorial lol. The dodging in that game was horrible lmao, very short i frames. I get they wanted you to play differently, and do sword clashes but i wouldn't mind both having a use. Hopefully they make a game where both are solid in use, getting hit pretty much meant death your usually better off just blocking.
@@necromachia2131 I actually don't mind the nerf of the dodge, it forces the player to play like Sekiro and not like Dark Souls and if you know the attacks, dodging isn't actually that hard.
@@PyroFTB Ye I found it easier to play like a crackhead full aggressive mode, dodging seems like a way just to get you killed from getting caught in sticky attacks for me. I much prefer that over dark souls and elden rings constant delayed attacks. I'd like a bit of both worlds though like you dodge shit that looks like you obviously should dodge it lol.
I can just never agree with people that say Guardian Ape encourages you to dodge. He doesn't. He is harder when you dodge in my opinion. Just stay close and deflect his attacks. Duo Ape is still annoying though.
@@Sercroc If you find it easier to dodge that is fine, but you can 100% do the first phase quite consistently by just deflecting and it really is not that hard. People just try to dodge Guardian Ape because they think that it would be hard to deflect so they won't even try and then they tell you that his first phase makes you play without deflecting. No, they chose to play it without deflecting.
Lud & Zallen are so much worse than the Royal Rat Vanguard, especially with the walk back that makes the path to Bed of Chaos look like a walk in the park. Oh also, none of the rats in the Royal Rat Vanguard inflict toxic (you were probably thinking of the Royal Rat Authority), they inflict petrification.
I really hated fighting the headless bosses in Sekiro. You basically can't beat them without divine confetti and being slowed down when trying to get away and the terror build up was super annoying.
@@rayvincyful1 and useless unless you're doing some specific fancy shit. And that's only for 1 of em. (It's one of the headless that give you the tanto right? Or is it that shitzimen demon?)
I actually really like Royal Rat Vanguard. The pure panic I felt at being locked in with a room full of rats and not initially knowing what to do is something I won't forget. I think Royal Rat Authority is a much, much worse fight given that the main challenge is trying to kill the four toxic rats before mangy Sif comes in. You don't even get anything for it, you just get to join a covenant you probably already had the opportunity to join
@@KrazyJohnnySvK Dude the first time I fought this boss I hit the two side things and I made the jump in the middle and was going through the branches to hit the demon bug/ real bed of chaos and that aoe got me while I was in that tunnel with branches. @@filipgasic2642 Yeah he does that attack when you're near the core. Happened to me a few times. You have to be very quick or else he does that AOE attack. I still find the best option to quit out after destroying the side cores and then go back to boss and just destroy the main core.
The godskin duo might’ve been tolerable if they didn’t have a shared health pool and constantly respawn until it’s depleted. Thankfully it takes some time before the other one will respawn so you can take the other out but it feels so cheap when they spawn back in
@@janebtar2167 yea in retro spect the sleep pots trivialize the fight. I beat them closer to the original release and didn’t know about the sleep pot trick, so I was bouncing between killing one, and then trying to eliminate the other or at least get him down mostly until the other respawned
@@ericjtomsky I also didn't use it in my first Try because I pretty much completely ignored all the craftables back then. However I still wouldn't consider it a "top x worst fight" under any circumstance
I feel that most people including myself think the guardian ape is an incredible boss. Although it is a beast boss it doesn’t play like one, it reminds me of Ludwig. The duo really frustrates me tho because it turned a great boss into a shitty disappointing recycled gank. Just thought I’d elaborate since it seemed like you didn’t like the regular guardian ape
Wolnir is not that bad, there is ancient wyvern, curserotten greatwood or even the deacons of the deep seem way awful imo. Other than that i agree with your picks.
Deacons is easy asf with the pontiff eye that health's on kill use a aoe weapon like colossal weapons / greatswords of even just normal straight sword would do I tried all above and u should kill the deacons in 1-2 hits giving u practically infinite health and use stamina regen boosting items to make yourself a infinite health near infinite stamina demon and kill dreacons within a minute
Deacons, wolnir and tree are more or less equaly mid, but ancient wyvern is absolutly awful, the worst bossfight in the series for me, is just a bad hazard in a area that is already pretty anoying because of the amount of enemies, considering that those enemies are the toughest ones in the base game, and the plugin attack is not 100% consistent also, the PvP bossfight in the ringed city DLC sucks, thank good that the best bossfight in the whole series is after that mess of a bossfight
Capra Demon is actually a good designed "enemy", designed for you to learn to abuse its sluggish movements and get an opening. The real bosses are its dogs.
You can parry almost all ape guardian moves, same with DoH besides the burn status. Not sure why people always say those fights are too different. By the end of it you really only need to dodge about 3 attacks they do and can parry everything else.
I know its really hard for souls fetishists to think but imagine this insane world where not everyones exp is the same, crazy i know but give it a try, might enlighten you
In defense to Capra Demon, he is actually a nice boss for where he is and the arena isn't that bad. What really makes it one of the most hated is the two dogs they decided to throw in with him.
I got really lucky in my first playthrough and managed to beat him in like 2 tries 😂 Didn't even realize people hated him until I watched videos like this
The thing I really hate about godskin duo is the respawn mechanic. Even if you kill both at once, if the health bar isn't at 0 they will come back. You should be rewarded for juggling their health bars together to take them down at the same time.
Nah, they are to help casters... When I farmed that soul for toxic mist, it became apparent, that you wouldn't be able to cast at all, if not for those statues😉
You know what's worse about the Godskin Duo? The fact that you always forget about it until you actually get to it. It's like that for me anyway. Not sure if it is the same for other people.
DS3, Crystal Sage. I’ve died so many times to rng. If the clones spawn in in just the wrong placement, I just instantly die when I stick my head out of cover. 4 enemies spamming spells at once from all directions. I either immediately pick the right one to cause them to reset, or I die and make the run back to them. Yes, I know I can use throwing knives, but that requires you to focus on one briefly, and not get shot in the back by the other 3.
@username Platinum, multiple playthroughs with just about every build. Beat every boss with Caestus and Master armor. Everyone has their own worst boss or particular blind spot. I’m not very good at ganks or dealing with attacks from multiple directions.
My personal picks: Demon's Souls - Dragon God Nothing to add here. Dark Souls - Bed of Chaos It's a short fight which can be done very consistently. It's just that learning it takes a while due to all of the pitfalls. Dark Souls 2 - Ancient Dragon The worst boss in the entire series. Not only does fighting it pretty much erase any meaning from the combat mechanics, the fight itself just boils down to running back and forth for 6 minutes while occasionally spamming attacks. That's it. Even Lud and Zallen is more engaging. Bloodborne - Cursed Depth 5 Loran Darkbeast You know what's worse than playing at inconsistent 25 fps? Playing at inconsistent 25 fps while fighting a boss with oneshot aoes in phase 2. While Paarl as a boss is fine, his chalice variant somehow runs so horribly that I'd rather fight against Micolash. If the boss ran well, I'd pick Micolash instead since it's barely a proper fight. Pthumeriam Descendant might suck, but he at least has a moveset to speak of. Dark Souls 3 - Ancient Wyvern It's a short level with annoying enemy placements, a chain axe that tends to hit you when you climb the ladder and a boss oneshot. Even NPC Halflight is more engaging. Sekiro - NG+7 Charmless Double Ape Great camera in this ridiculously small room. At least the apes are manageable since they work by very clear rules, but still this fight takes a while and can feel very inconsistent due to the camera and lack of space. Elden Ring - NG+7 Gargoyle Duo Even Godskin Duo is more manageable than this thanks to the pillars, the clear difference in the movement speeds and movesets, both bosses are even parryable. But Gargoyles meanwhile have similar dashing moves, jump around similarly, have massive ranges, go in and out of agro at seemingly random and puke up a mile off screen. Screw this fight.
Your choices were pretty safe until guardian ape. Ape is one of the BEST bosses in the entire series. For Sekiro, why didn’t you say the monkeys? There’s no challenge, it’s just annoying. Also, I hate the Four Kings more than bed of chaos.
For Sekiro i would say Juzou the Drunkard (it's a miniboss, but it's so annoying that i dont care), because you have to fight him alongside like 10 enemies, and you had to have killed other 20, so if you get twoshotted by him, you have to retry everything. And if you hate Four kings more than bed, that means your builds don't do exactly damage (that's why the very large ember is in that area in particular, also his damage is mostly magic, so you can counterpick using magic armor or spells) or you try to dodge away from their attacks (they do less damage as close you are, so if you run, you take alot more).
@@anstorner Four Kings isn’t that bad I guess, but I hate the boss run and on NG+ they become so tanky it’s insane. Bed of Chaos I just do the quit-out and I’ll usually only die once or not at all.
@@lloydirving6209 I understand it’s kind of a necessity to have a meme boss in every souls game, it’s just one I hate to do after the first time, whereas guardian ape, genichiro, lady butterfly, and Isshin are fucking exhilarating every time. Even Divine Dragon is still decent after the first time
@@broomybroomybroomy what do you mean by "meme" fight? it is a cool and genuinely unique fight. that has been a part of the souls dna since demons souls, every boss fight in that game had cool and unique mechanics to it. now every boss is the same thing, just a straight up duel every time, and we get maybe one or two mechanically interesting fights a game. that is part of the reason why sekiro has little to no replayability, once you beat sword saint isshin if you go to replay sekiro literally every single fight is a cakewalk. but if they had more interesting fights that wouldn't be the case.
Funny thing is that on my 5th playthrough in DSIII i wanted to do a no death run and nearly managed to do so. My only death was because of Wolnir mist that OS me lmao (I was quite salty). Otherwise in BB I found Rom and Micolash way worse than the witch.
@@wolfensky3889 yup I got reset to ng+ right after beating the game and had to rush through the game to catch back up to play with my friends. Micolash was fucking brutal
I kinda love how they tried to make a reference to O and S with the pillars. They really tried their best to make us like this fight uh ? Yeah i dont think so
How are the pillars a reference to O&S? They are in every godskin noble boss room (on the bridge replaced by alcoves) to stop his roll and give you a safe place to heal. The reference if anything is in their boss design wiht them being tick and thin. The true failure of this fight is twofold: -The apostle should be very passive, normally he is but sometimes the ai just decides to say fuck it and run after you -They arent good at communicating the lore of the godhunt thus making this fight feel out of place
@username really not. Im referencing the fact that many think you are just fighting two people when it is supposed to be you against the entire faction. You only fight two at once but every "re-summon" is another member of the godhunt. THus the name obviously makes no sense and its something a lot of people complain about. Thats why i think it a lot of people dont like this fight thematically
Fromsoft really seemed to be into making worse versions of DS1 bosses for ER lmao. Godskin Duo, Gargoyles... Atleast they didn't make a worse bed of chaos which I am not sure is even possible.
I was so disappointed when I finished all the bosses except Allant and went around killing Arch Demons saving dragon God for right before Allant. Only to be disappointed that my last Arch Demon was a bore.
Kinda surprised to hear that guardian ape duo, I love both fights as they are both exciting to deflect! That being said , the Headless is a different story...
I think the godskin duo are really out of place in Farun Azula, it doesn't seem super right that they'd be there. I get that they're trying to get at Maliketh to get the Black Flame at full power again, but still. I feel it should have been a beast man of some sort, or an Ancient Magma Wyrm that shoots red lightning instead of lava. I feel something more thematically linked to the area would have been a nice choice. But eh, beggers can't be choosers (unless I learn how to mod Elden Ring)
Hey, you bought the game, how are you a beggar? Expecting quality for the price you paid is only natural. Otherwise mediocrity will become a new standard.
Bed of Chaos is a her, by the way. You kept saying "his attacks". The Bed of Chaos is what remains of the Witch of Izalith, the mother of Ceaseless Discharge and Quelaag, along with a few other characters.
I have 700+ hours in Elden Ring and the only boss on replays that feels not difficult but unfair is Melania my biggest gripe is that waterfowl, arguably the most difficult move to dodge in gaming history, has no real punish window if you dodge it successfully! she will dodge immediately if you throw a projectile (other than night sorceries obviously) or she will dash forward and swing immediately
I really truly disagree that Godskin Duo is a bad boss. The point about summons feeling forced is an odd one to me because the developers very, very clearly WANT players to use the summons. There's a lot of thought and effort put into the summons and it's very reductive to say that because a boss encourages the use of them that the boss is bad or thoughtless. The thought was summons. As for them not working together well, I also really disagree. They're both fast but they have really complementary movesets. Noble has a lot of gap closing attacks while Apostle has more stationary attacks. I found it pretty easy to keep them separated even before the AI update. Last, because of how their summon mechanics work, it's super easy to just kill one and then alternate between 1v1s. I think a mistake a lot of people make is killing Apostle first. Noble first helps a lot imo.
7:45 come on, man. it's unfair considering to put Elden Beast as the worst boss. keep in mind: It's the living incarnation of the Golden Order, a beautiful arena, looks beautiful, beautiful music, fitting attacks for the final boss (yes even elden stars which is the worst one) and overall a great final boss. Gameplay wise it's meh, they could have certainly given us Torrent, but I think the good parts are really some of the best in all of the ER bosses
Yes as Long as you Not move to far away while fighting and run against an invisible Wall and then die because Walls are stupid But Its still a great Boss in may opinion
Nah man, it's dog shit. I didn't even bother finishing the game because of it. Ending such a huge game with some amorphous blob is just dumb. The "the last boss is actually some random ass monster we never told you about before" trope is terrible and it's played out to death at this point. Radagon should've just had a 2nd phase
@@Starcrafter23 dude stop pretending like it's a terrible boss. I think it's pathetic to not finish one of the best games of our time just because the final boss isn't a revolutionary masterpiece. Or imagine that Dark Souls 1 ended up not with Gwyn, but instead with Pinwheel. Also, calling ER "the best game of our time" is beyond funny. It's a good game, but that's it. @@Starcrafter23 first of all: I called Elden Ring *one of* the best games. Read the comment properly. Secondly, why would you compare Blood Starved Beast to the Elden Beast? Gotta disagree with the guardian ape they do go against some of what sekiro stomps into your brain but once you learn the patterns and get used to their weakness they can be fun I would of given the worst boss award to the underwater headless in the the fountainhead palace got he sucks especially with his phantom friend
I fully agree with you. My first fight against Ape Guardian was a nightmare. But when I finally got the gameplay of Sekiro, I bet it first try. The second phase is very easy

Bro stop the cap on Guardian Ape, he's one of the best fights in the game. Also I find it really annoying when people still to this day keep saying that guardian ape is different than other fights in the game. You can deflect almost every one of his attacks even in phase one and its absolutely thrilling to stand toe to toe with him deflecting everything.
my choice: demon's souls: *real* king allant ds1: bed of chaos ds2: RATS bb: one reborn (micolash came in second but had cool ost and 4th best lore) sekiro: monkey elden ring: godskin duo
Guardian Ape is one of my absolute favorites. Very surprised you didn’t put the folding screen monkeys, considering it’s boring, takes way too long and has zero replay value whatsoever. Guardian Ape gave me so much grief on my first play through, so bodying him and beating him first try on my second was just so cathartic. He didn’t get easier, I got gud.
To this day I can’t believe how disappointing the Bed of Chaos is. The lore for the boss is great. The potential is absolutely there. Even sliding down the chute I fully expected an epic battle, but alas lmao
I'ma have to disagree with the what you said about the Guardian Ape. I didn't like that second fight much either but just like the demon of hatred I like the fact that they made you take a different approach than the rest of the fights. It adds to the challenge when these games break away from the formula and make you have to figure out a new way to tackle something
@@gravesidepoet5405 it doesn't break the rules in my opinion. It just sets the rules and gives you a bunch of options, some more viable in certain situations than others
You actually don't need to take a different approach to Guardian Ape and Demon of Hatred. Unless an attack shows the Perilous Attack indicator, you can deflect it. As far as I'm aware, there are no exceptions. Admittedly, there are some attacks you still shouldn't deflect, but those are few and far between. As long as you use the fire umbrella, you can safely deflect all attacks from DoH's fire arm, and the rest of his body attacks can be deflected normally. As for Guardian Ape, you should deflect all non-perilous attacks, as that's the best way to break their posture. It is true that one would normally think that you can't possibly deflect an attack from something that large, but you most certainly can
@@madgritop9774 I guess that's true but I like that those fights in particular give you *more of a reason* to fight differently. With most of the human enemies it was predominantly close quarters combat but with those 2 big guys there was a lot more of an opportunity run and jump around, dodge big attacks etc the fights were built on a different principal
@@madgritop9774 “can’t possibly deflect an attack from something that large” that took me the longest to unlearn for Sekiro. In Dark Souls and Bloodborne you’re taught (indirectly) that anything beast like can’t be parried(there are exceptions like the Orphan).
Capra Demon is definitely an annoyance, especially if you stumble into him early, to get one-shot by a volley of quick bite combos from the doggos or get staggered by said bites to give him enough time for a big smackdown. Learning that the steps you're supposed to use for space have a little side extension to it was the key for me defeating the boss after I researched him for tips, but I still feel it was much thanks to RNG that I went through the fog door and rolled at the precise timing to get far enough away from the dogs' random bite volleys, and climb the steps unbothered. Gank fights and mob n' boss fights should have appropriate arenas.
Godskin duo is just a skill issue. Even though the pillars break, they can't walk over them so u can separate them using that and make it more fun and a bit easier
I’m probably in the minority here, but I actually enjoyed the Godskin duo fight, even tho I beat them first time. For those who don’t believe me; in Elden Ring with enough grinding (aka looking up a guide to every dungeon and side-boss) and willingness to use everything in your arsenal, every boss feels like a cake-walk. The amount of bosses I first-tried is ridiculous for a souls game
Being able to brute force it doesn't make the boss fight good. If you try to fight them with a low vit build it's just horribly bad, they input read and chuck fireballs at you, they have the same movement speed so separating them is not only super annoying, but also pointless, they can hit you through level geometry (especially the Noble with his charged poke, he can easily hit you through the pillar), oh, and those fireballs? Good luck dodging them when you can't even see them coming because the godskins can throw those fireballs THROUGH each other. I've played the whole game with Vyke's Spear (well, after I got it that is) and 40 vit, It's the only boss in the game that I used a summon for
Kinda what I hate about the game. It's a number crunching, grinding exploit-fest and it's been balanced for that. None of the bosses have given me the feeling of fighting an epic duel because the generic bosses are far too easy and basic, and the mainline bosses are BS that expect you to pull out the cakewalk items, making them either nothing but a footnote or an impassible wall if you choose to be a classic pure melee. I'm 70 hours in, got like 5 bosses left and rn I can confidently say The Pursuer and Iudex Gundyr easily are better designed than every boss I've faced. Heck, I'd take the damn Belfry Gargoyles or the Capra Demon over most of the bosses You would not believe how many times I died to bosses in previous souls game, but I could myself getting better each time until I nailed em. I've not felt that in ER.
DS1 - I'm appalled you would even consider Capra Demon for this list (that and Pursuer in thumbnail nearly made me skip this video), but Bed of Chaos makes sense. It's one of the coolest designs, and I really like Lost Isalith, but the boss fight itself is just too different and clunky. It would be one of the best if it was more formulaic (perhaps with the current mechanic being a hidden one-hit KO). DS2 - I think every boss you mentioned has it's moments - Covetous suffers from Pinwheel syndrome (too fragile to show off it's moves), Skeleton Lords are a pretty fun gank actually, and Vanguard is a very fun gank (why would you think the statues were there to help you, lol?). I would instead say Vendrick. He's a cool character, but as a boss he has only his enormous health pool. DS3 - Deacons of the Deep suck too, but Wolnir fits I guess.
Godskin Duo are incredibly annoying. You just can't heal easily and you will just laugh your arse off the moment you heal because you'll see two of them yeet fireball upon you the moment you took the flask lmfao.
@@orang1921 I mean that's totally fair but that fight is just lazy design. The giant is frustrating but it's meant to be this ancient being of insane power. I think it did that well and was at least fun creatively
For elden ring i would say the elden beast. not even because i was disappointed to se it as the final boss, I just hate bosses that just run away and shoot projectiles. especially when it literally can swim under you and appear on the other side of the arena. Astel is a close second for me.
The thing I don’t like about godskin duo is that I have to kill them both more than 1 time since if you kill both that still leaves health on their bar
Fun fact about the dragon god for me. When I fought the boss for the first time, almost everytime I got spotted and he went to attack me, he missed the attacks. I proceeded to first time the boss
ER has so many bad bosses, its crazy. Reskins, Godskin Duo, Elden Beast, Valiant Gargoyles, Magma Wyrm, honestly it would be a shorter to list the good bosses in ER
Yeah, ER is definitely quantity over quality. The only bosses that stood out to me as really good were Godrick and Mohg, everything else ranged from mediocre to dog shit. Melania would've been great as well if it wasn't for the waterfowl dance and the fact that she breaks the rules of the game by being immune to staggers when she has hyper armor, which depending on RNG can make her straight up impossible to stagger
I got super lucky with Wolnir on my broken sword run. He didn't summon any skeletons, didn't do his big mist attack, and the arms barely moved. I don't think I'll ever get that lucky again
Personally really like Godskin Duo, even as a melee main who doesn't use spirits. Focus on one of them and the other one mostly leaves you alone, just keep an eye out for any projectiles coming your way. Also the pillars still block the Noble's roll even if they're broken so I wouldn't call them useless at all. I get that it's a pretty tough boss, especially considering it's mandatory, but I reckon in a few years you won't see many people claiming that they essentially 'require' spirits or summons.
Godskin duo isn't even the hardest gank fight in ER. Crucible Knight x2 or Crucible + Misbegotten around lvl 40 are both way more difficult. its super easy to poise break Godskins.
i think you are correct about godskin duo but wrong about the pillars on my mage playthrough i got them stuck between them and the wall long enough to nuke both at the same time with Comet Azur.
Personally I kept going at Godskin Duo until I won. No summons, no sleep, melee only. Took a lot of tries but eventually I figured it out. The first part where both of them are alive is always going to suck. But the key is to kill one and then RAMP UP aggression to the max. It's no longer just a game about rolling through attacks, it's now a game about sneaking in every single attack you can. If you keep up the aggression and have a reasonable build, you will repeatedly kill one Apostle just as the other one respawns, meaning you never have to deal with a 1v2 again, or at worst a very brief 1v2. So you get really rewarded for taking risks. And that's honestly pretty cool and refreshing, certainly a change of pace that is welcome. Wouldn't say this is great design but it's certainly not as bad as people say.
I disagree with the Guardian Ape, I think that the Demon of Hatred is the worst boss simply because its a bloodborne boss in a game without bloodborne mechanics. You can deflect his attacks but the windows for them are so small that its better to dodge and its just overall annoying. Other than that I think the Demon of Hatred is the coolest looking fromsoft boss.
I've noticed a lot of people especially the "pros" always say the godskin duo is the worst and one of the hardest fights in the game but personally I didn't have such a hard time every time I fought them and I am not a good player by any means
Same here. They don't have a ton of attacks. The pillars can still block the rolling attacks. They delay between respawns so you can keep it 1v1 after you take one out.
@@fashionsuckman4652 I've done it without summons as well and didn't have a problem even then. I'm not saying I didn't die a few times but it's definitely not as big a problem as they make it out to be

You just made me want Bed of Chaos 2.0 in Elden Ring DLC. From managed to make their insane platforming sections somewhat fun and satisfying now that we have a proper jump button. Going back to BB and trying to get to the Abandoned Workshop was not fun, even though it takes just one careful drop. Just having a proper jump button makes success at the Frenzy pit satisfying instead of "damn it Miyazaki, why?" on safely reaching the bottom
I don't really know how I feel about the bed of chaos being the worst boss considering they made a boss out of two bleed dogs and an extra demon they accidentally placed in the arena. Dogs are easily the hardest boss in most souls games (ds1,2 and 3)
Putting Capra demon in such a small arena with 2 dogs certainly was a cheap move but the bed of chaos is a gimmick fight that which requires luck to win. No matter how good you are at dark souls there's always a chance that the floor breaks from under you and you just die which is awful boss design
@@evanpalmer7297 Good point, the only reason I said this really was because the only time I've had a bad experience with the boss fight was when I did an sl1 and couldn't two hand havels shield without being overweight. With Capra there are numerous ways to cheese the boss and get rid of the dogs.
People need to stop bitching about the godskin duo, it's only hard if you ignore an entire peice of your kit. YOUR SUPPOSED TO USE SUMMONS!!! it's like complaining about a sekiro boss forcing you to jump, it's apart of your kit and should be used

I would buy one but I am poor
I personally would have put the Frigid Outskirts boss as the worst one for DS2, simply because of the run back.
Honestly.. you actually called the Godskin Dou "reskinned"? Reskinned would imply that the moveset, skeleton and/or hitboxes were taken from something else and had a new SKIN (see, what i did there? Using the definition in a more proper context) placed upon it/them. The Godskin have meaningful lore. Don't be a dummy, smdh

DS2, the RR Vanguard actually hits you with petrification, and the Mohawk rat has poison. Minor difference, but it makes the fight bearable. This, also the reward is worth it, if you pvp, from these bosses

Now that I think of it, is Darkeater Midir a make up of what the Ancient Wyvern was supposed to be?
I think that this bossfight are worse than vanguard of rats
Authority as you said
Ancient dragon: this bossfight sucks really bad, is just like fire giant, but 5 times worse, with a huge health bar and pretty much one-shot you unles you has like the best rings posible to defend you of his attacks, 50 vigor and the best armor posible, also, the runback sucks
Lud and zallen: reskin of a bossfight that is in the same DLC, but now, there is two of them, and they just doesn't work as a duo at all, and they are really anoying, also, this bossfight has the worst runback in the entire series and is not even close
Nashandra: is just a really bad way to end a Game, is just super lame, i don't care if is a mid area bossfight, but as the final one, boring, at least, It has a really good artistic design
Aldia: sorry, the theme is beautifull and is very good in the design, but the bossfight is extremily boring and lame, you has to wait for him to stop that fire barrier
Suprised that the boss for bloodborne wasnt Micolash, first time doing the fight it’s kinda interesting but then it just becomes a pain in the ass having to run through and defeat enemies just to get to phase 2 of the boss who has a “new” attack that one shots you 90% of the time.
exactly why 99% of players kill him with poison lol
Why would you ever bother defeating enemies in that "fight" though?
At least micolash is entertaining lmao
beast roar makes micolash a pushover lol, he’s far from the worst boss

I get your point with Wolnir but I'd say Ancient Wyvern is the worst DS3 boss. Calling it a boss is too generous, honestly.
Wyvern is stupidly easy and a boring boss in general
At least wolnir has a cool design
I'd say Deacons are also worse, it's just a mob of enemies who are either easy to kill with a big weapon or tedious with a poki one
yeah it's a pure gimmick boss, but at least it's cinematic and pretty cool to break his skull from above. if you are trying something fun that maybe isn't super strong Wolnir is the worst if you cant meet the DPS check that he offers once in a blue moon when he actually puts his fucking hand down
@@nitrondersaftige3807 Idk, there’s a fun factor to deacons for me.
I think the fight is just made worse by the fact that it’s a bad duo fight in a game that has 3 duo fights, the other 2 actually being good
I just came to say this… Guardian Ape does not in any way subvert the Sekiro gameplay design.
Agreed, you can sleep the godskins at least and use the pillars somewhat. The Gargoyles poison is unbalanced hell.
He specifically said he picked the worst one out of the main 12, so yea
Nah, gargoyles ain't shit. Their moveset is way easier to dodge roll, and the second guy only comes in when the first is at half, so you can actually reliably take care of one and make it a level field again. I'd take that over godskins respawning, throwing fireballs willy-nilly, rolling around, stretching about, and doing the only "unfair" move in the entire game in a tiny arena
Gargoyles are the best 2 on 1 in the game 🤷🤷🤷 It's the perfected version of a gargoyle team dating back to Demons Souls
I think that's the first time I've heard a negative opinion of Guardian Ape. Though I will note that you can deflect a variety of his attacks and the Demon of Hatred's as well as posture break both.

Nice video! I actually like Capra though. You learn that the environment/arena can be deadly when you meet the Taurus demon and the Bell Gargoyles.

I got really lucky in my first playthrough and managed to beat him in like 2 tries 😂
Didn't even realize people hated him until I watched videos like this
The thing I really hate about godskin duo is the respawn mechanic. Even if you kill both at once, if the health bar isn't at 0 they will come back. You should be rewarded for juggling their health bars together to take them down at the same time.
I assumed the rat statues were there to make it more difficult to swing your weapon, not to help you.
Probably
Nah, they are to help casters... When I farmed that soul for toxic mist, it became apparent, that you wouldn't be able to cast at all, if not for those statues😉

3 worst enemies in every souls game :
- your camera
- gravity
- the hitbox
I died to the Stray Demon 2 in DS1 recently entirely because my locked-on camera was spazzing out trying to focus on said boss
I’m not very good at ganks or dealing with attacks from multiple directions.

bro Dex>Sex
Jacopo, Spells....Just Spells in every game except Bloodborne & Sekiro
When he said- "It doesn't feel like skill it just feels like rng"
A tear fell from my left eye in agreement.
My personal picks:
Demon's Souls - Dragon God
Nothing to add here.
Dark Souls - Bed of Chaos
It's a short fight which can be done very consistently. It's just that learning it takes a while due to all of the pitfalls.
Dark Souls 2 - Ancient Dragon
The worst boss in the entire series. Not only does fighting it pretty much erase any meaning from the combat mechanics, the fight itself just boils down to running back and forth for 6 minutes while occasionally spamming attacks. That's it. Even Lud and Zallen is more engaging.
Bloodborne - Cursed Depth 5 Loran Darkbeast
You know what's worse than playing at inconsistent 25 fps? Playing at inconsistent 25 fps while fighting a boss with oneshot aoes in phase 2. While Paarl as a boss is fine, his chalice variant somehow runs so horribly that I'd rather fight against Micolash. If the boss ran well, I'd pick Micolash instead since it's barely a proper fight. Pthumeriam Descendant might suck, but he at least has a moveset to speak of.
Dark Souls 3 - Ancient Wyvern
It's a short level with annoying enemy placements, a chain axe that tends to hit you when you climb the ladder and a boss oneshot. Even NPC Halflight is more engaging.
Sekiro - NG+7 Charmless Double Ape
Great camera in this ridiculously small room. At least the apes are manageable since they work by very clear rules, but still this fight takes a while and can feel very inconsistent due to the camera and lack of space.
Elden Ring - NG+7 Gargoyle Duo
Even Godskin Duo is more manageable than this thanks to the pillars, the clear difference in the movement speeds and movesets, both bosses are even parryable.

The true failure of this fight is twofold:
-The apostle should be very passive, normally he is but sometimes the ai just decides to say fuck it and run after you
-They arent good at communicating the lore of the godhunt thus making this fight feel out of place
@username really not. Im referencing the fact that many think you are just fighting two people when it is supposed to be you against the entire faction. You only fight two at once but every "re-summon" is another member of the godhunt. THus the name obviously makes no sense and its something a lot of people complain about. I could not disagree more. The most important thing to them is the power over death. They definitely belong there for lore purposes.

Ayeee love that ⚔️
I have 700+ hours in Elden Ring and the only boss on replays that feels not difficult but unfair is Melania my biggest gripe is that waterfowl, arguably the most difficult move to dodge in gaming history, has no real punish window if you dodge it successfully! she will dodge immediately if you throw a projectile (other than night sorceries obviously) or she will dash forward and swing immediately
Bed of Chaos, pain we will remember.
It looks like you completely ignored my points and just wanted to complain about how much you hate it. This is just absolutely ridiculous.
@@leif4698 Call the cops on me for not finishing a game because of uninspired, badly designed bossfight lmao.
I didn't expect a revolutionary masterpiece, I just didn't expect uninspired blob with 0 personality.
Imagine if Bloodborne's final boss was a blood starved beast instead of Gherman.
Or imagine that Dark Souls 1 ended up not with Gwyn, but instead with Pinwheel.
Also, calling ER "the best game of our time" is beyond funny. It's a good game, but that's it. Bloodborne is heads and shoulders above it in terms of quality
@@Starcrafter23 first of all: I called Elden Ring *one of* the best games. Read the comment properly.
Secondly, why would you compare Blood Starved Beast to the Elden Beast? It's apparent that the Elden Beast is a big deal in the Lands Between. It makes sense that it'd be the final boss. "Oh? The Elden Beast doesn't have a tragic backstory and doesn't have a character arc?" This boss has ZERO personality!" My man, that is literally the Golden Order incarnate, not some random guy trapped in a temple. Lastly, while I can understand your boss design complaint, I'm sure 80% of the community agrees that it's at the very least a DECENT design. It's definitely not the worst looking boss in the game, much to the contrary. So stop crying and finish the damn game. It's literally 10 minutes.
I won’t take this unwarranted armored warrior slander from the thumbnail
The Gank Squad in DS2 for the expansion was by far my least favorite boss. I absolutely hated it...
indeed very annoying
Didn't feel like a boss to me, wasn't challenging at all, so yeah, kinda agree
godskin duo is way to over hated. it is an enjoyable fight as long as you arent using fire or magic weapons.
Godskin duo 🤡
Ornstein and smough 🗿 🥂
See the difference kid
Gotta disagree with the guardian ape they do go against some of what sekiro stomps into your brain but once you learn the patterns and get used to their weakness they can be fun I would of given the worst boss award to the underwater headless in the the fountainhead palace got he sucks especially with his phantom friend
I fully agree with you. My first fight against Ape Guardian was a nightmare. But when I finally got the gameplay of Sekiro, I bet it first try. The second phase is very easy
My list
Demon's Souls: Old Monk
Dark Souls: Capra Demon
Dark Souls 2: Ancient Dragon
Bloodborne: Mergo's Wet Nurse
Dark Souls 3: Yhorm the Giant
Sekiro: Gyoubu Oniwa
Elden Ring: Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy
I'm currently playing through bloodborne and the witches weren't to bad. Rom however was a bitch to fight.
Whilst I didn’t find him too bad, Micolash is not a very good “fight”. However, I hate Laurence with every fiber of my being.
The bed of chaos area in general is just full of bad bosses. Centipede demon, ceasless discharge, etc. Its so bad.
Bro stop the cap on Guardian Ape, he's one of the best fights in the game. Also I find it really annoying when people still to this day keep saying that guardian ape is different than other fights in the game. You can deflect almost every one of his attacks even in phase one and its absolutely thrilling to stand toe to toe with him deflecting everything.
my choice:
demon's souls: *real* king allant
ds1: bed of chaos
ds2: RATS
bb: one reborn (micolash came in second but had cool ost and 4th best lore)
sekiro: monkey
elden ring: godskin duo
Allant is a lore boss.
I loved monke from Sekiro, it was one of the coolest surprises xD
@@jonnymario771 I'm glad you liked them
Guardian Ape is one of my absolute favorites.
Totally agree. Guardian ape is a really neat fight
“I got Gud” or you just realized you can actually deflect him like everything else even though his size would suggest otherwise
That’s why Sekiro is bottom of the list for me for FromSoftware games. It’s the only one that actively breaks the rules that it “teaches” you.
Picking the witches of hemwick in the game where Laurence exists...
Yes, the game is easy when you make it that way lol
Being able to brute force it doesn't make the boss fight good. If you try to fight them with a low vit build it's just horribly bad, they input read and chuck fireballs at you, they have the same movement speed so separating them is not only super annoying, but also pointless, they can hit you through level geometry (especially the Noble with his charged poke, he can easily hit you through the pillar), oh, and those fireballs? Good luck dodging them when you can't even see them coming because the godskins can throw those fireballs THROUGH each other.
I've played the whole game with Vyke's Spear (well, after I got it that is) and 40 vit, It's the only boss in the game that I used a summon for
@@SkyForGames And also unfair when you make it that way. But people are still bitching lol
Heck, I'd take the damn Belfry Gargoyles or the Capra Demon over most of the bosses
You would not believe how many times I died to bosses in previous souls game, but I could myself getting better each time until I nailed em.
I've not felt that in ER.
@@skilletborne “fighting an epic duel” that you Harrison?
Just because the crucible knights kicked your ass doesn’t make them bad! Give them the credit they deserve
You just can't heal easily and you will just laugh your arse off the moment you heal because you'll see two of them yeet fireball upon you the moment you took the flask lmfao.
>bed of Chaos
>He
For some reason, I really like the headless ape phase. For many reasons, I really dislike the duo ape fight.
also, Fire Giant is absolutely the worst of Elden Ring.
@@orang1921 dude you can't argue that godskin duo is better than the fire giant. That's just silly
@@keystep8669 I honestly enjoyed godskin duo but despised fire giant
@@orang1921 I mean that's totally fair but that fight is just lazy design. The giant is frustrating but it's meant to be this ancient being of insane power. I think it did that well and was at least fun creatively
That’s funny, I didn’t have a problem with wolnir
For elden ring i would say the elden beast. not even because i was disappointed to se it as the final boss, I just hate bosses that just run away and shoot projectiles. especially when it literally can swim under you and appear on the other side of the arena. Astel is a close second for me.
I feel like more than half of the fight is running around
8:00 The godskin duo is much better than the Elden beast
I never knew sleep was so effective on the Godskin duo... Oh well, next time, I guess.
DS2's worst boss is by far Royal Rat Vanguard not Authority. Not even close.
The thing I don’t like about godskin duo is that I have to kill them both more than 1 time since if you kill both that still leaves health on their bar
You will not find a single original thought in this video
Fun fact about the dragon god for me. When I fought the boss for the first time, almost everytime I got spotted and he went to attack me, he missed the attacks. I proceeded to first time the boss
the rats from the royal rat vanguard boss fight actually apply petrify as well
ER has so many bad bosses, its crazy.
Replace the rat gank with Lud and Zallen, Witches of Hemwick with Micolash, and Wolnir with Halflight.
I agree with Lud & Zallen but micolash is not bad at all and Halflight is so much more enjoyable than Wolnir
I get that it's a pretty tough boss, especially considering it's mandatory, but I reckon in a few years you won't see many people claiming that they essentially 'require' spirits or summons.
you can also just run in a tight circle to avoid the rolling.
Bruh the guardian ape is a really interesting boss and fun, the flooding screen monkeys are the most boring
Godskin duo isn't even the hardest gank fight in ER. Crucible Knight x2 or Crucible + Misbegotten around lvl 40 are both way more difficult. its super easy to poise break Godskins.
What you said in that outro has really stuck with me and made me re-think a few things in life
i think you are correct about godskin duo but wrong about the pillars on my mage playthrough i got them stuck between them and the wall long enough to nuke both at the same time with Comet Azur.
Most "pros" play the game without magic or summons, things that make seemingly impossible tasks much more manageable
@@fashionsuckman4652 I've done it without summons as well and didn't have a problem even then. I'm not saying I didn't die a few times but it's definitely not as big a problem as they make it out to be
@@fashionsuckman4652 same with magic I've always been a melee build in fact my most recent run I used the claymore alone no greeces or ashes of war added

Hmm I'd probably say
1: Witch of Izalith
DS2: royal rat authority/Vendrick
BB: Micolash host of the maze and run around BS lair
DS3: dragon you go old mc stabby from ledge
Sekiro: hmm never beat it very very hard
Elden: probably any number of the rehashed bosses. I can't legit say I hate black blade or horrah loux just because they wrecked me a lot
Headless doesn’t get enough hate
Everyone knows godskin duo is a dumpster fire of a boss fight
With Capra there are numerous ways to cheese the boss and get rid of the dogs.
i havent read "dont give up skeleton" last time i played ds2 :3 the word is so meaningful to me
People need to stop bitching about the godskin duo, it's only hard if you ignore an entire peice of your kit. YOUR SUPPOSED TO USE SUMMONS!!! it's like complaining about a sekiro boss forcing you to jump, it's apart of your kit and should be used
Honestly baffled the 4 Monkeys boss isn't the worst entry for Sekiro. Guardian Ape was actually enjoyable, and when he reanimates, it was cool af.
Nicolash takes worst boss each time in Bloodborne, at least the witches is a decent gimmick the first time.
