The problem is this was a story that didn’t need to be told and as a result has failed to justify its existence (as many have suggested maybe a film would have been the better option). Kenobi’s legacy is already cemented and I personally don’t need to know anymore about his whereabouts after the fall of the Jedi. Just like I didn’t need to know about our original trilogy heroes future with another trilogy. We have (had) the REAL EU for almost all of these additional stories (if you so choose to read it). However, maybe this is what we all deserve for driving Lucas to sell the brand in the first place.
Completely agree! I am gobsmacked that Disney are so consistently bad at Star Wars - to the point that it must be somehow deliberate for the sake of being different/provocative. The gratuitous fan service on the one hand and canon-breaking sacrilege on the other doesn’t make any sense - the older fans grow ever more disenchanted while newer fans are surely put off by confusing, poorly developed characters. The fact they made a trilogy without first having determined the overarching story is unforgivable - literally screenplay 101. Like you, I hear Leia’s message to Obi Wan and am instantly captivated by the reference to a Clone Wars, and the fact this hermit in a Druid robe used to be a general.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of this show, even after the final Episode. It feels really cheap, the story is outrageous (one plothole after another), fight and escape scenes are terribly directed (Shaky Cam sucks) and Obi-Wan isn't even really the main character in his own show. And I also have the impression that the marketing department wrote the script and not scriptwriters. A 4/10 from me and that's only because of Ewan McGregor who really tries as does Hayden Christensen in the very few scenes he appears. What a disappointment!
Actually, I don’t think Luke ever really saw Reva’s lightsaber. His eyes were closed when she almost was about to kill him. And I don’t remember him seeing it when she was getting closer either.
its filler i had a feeling that it was going to suck when i heard it has 6 episodes i only watched the first 2 episode i just watched reviews of the rest of the episodes if a Disney+ short series has 6 episodes i will most likely not watch most of it other than the first episode to see wtf Disney is going to destroy this time in this case obi wan and everything else that the show had
I mean, all entertainment and really anything that isn't helping others or family is a waste of time really. I found it to be quite an enjoyable experience so... time well wasted I guess for me. Idk it's just a space opera bro.
What surprises me is how many people ignore the huge issues with the show and just applaud the mere fact that quigon showed up, among other things. This whole show and its twitter discourse is the equivalent dangling a toy in front of a baby. It was made so people could point at the screen and recognize things, just like Leo Dicaprio. Disney has no need to do better cause people eat it right up
Maybe because there's other more serious shit to bitch about in life and a well produced, well made show with a fun story despite "breaking canon" just seems kinda minor by comparison. Idk just my hunch? Y'all gotta stop acting like Disney stole the rights from you instead of actually paying for them from George Lucas 🤣
