- Hey guy! Today's video will walk you through building a super simple end table that looks amazing. The table is built form solid wallnut, but can be built with any wood you want. If you do build it, we would love to see it!

Love your way of simplifying.
Thanks!
Thanks Guys!!! Gorgeous table!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great build guys.
Thank you, Boon!
That is a nice one and very well explained for beginners. 9.5 from 10 and thumbs up
Thanks Tim! I'll take a 9.5 any day haha!
@@FishOverChicksWoodworking that's what she said...lol
Amazing ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!

Another great project !!
Thank you! We thought so!
Nice build, so simple. Great job!!
Thanks man! Just checked out your channel. I can't beleive the algorithm hasn't brought me there yet. your videos are awesome!
@FishOverChicksWoodworking thanks brother, appreciate it!
Great project nicely explained.
Thanks so much!
Very nice, congrats. I will attempt to make the table but with a twist of my own. Let you know. Dave & The Girls
Thanks Dave!
Let’s go
😎😎
yaaaaa
Great video and terrific project. I really like the way you built and clamped the legs. I love that you built it from walnut but do you have any idea what the cost difference would be from pine vs walnut? That is going in your apt? Seems like it would be a good seller on marketplace. Thank you guys for sharing!
In my area walnut is around $13 per board foot. I would guess 4-6 board feet for this project. You could probably buy 1 pine 1x6 for $10-$15 from Lowes and make this table.
Thanks Thom! The walnut was about $50 in wood for this build and i would guess the cost of pine would be about $12-$15. Yes, it’s in the apartment because we wanted some nicer furniture in there and we love it! I do think we’ll make some pine ones to sell in the future though
Great job as usual. I have a possibly dumb question, but could you do dowels for connecting the legs to the seat instead of screws?
Thanks for sharing the video.
Yes you could definitely do that!
@@FishOverChicksWoodworking Thank you for the answer. I did not know if it was strong enough as opposed to screws or not.
I’ve actually already made on similar last spring lol. The customer (my daughter lol) wanted the base painted, so mine was pine. But I am considering making one for paying customers, so maybe the next will be hardwood.
Family members can sometimes be best best customers lol! We are actually thinking about making one out of pine as well so we can paint it.
@FishOverChicksWoodworking consider using poplar. Very good for paint and a step up from pine but less expensive than most other hardwood and easy to work with.
nice work...quick question though - what about wood movement on the top? will the screws cause it break further down the line? I only ask because i am in the middle of making a similar table and cannot decide how to mount to the top to the base LOL. thanks and keep the videos up - they are great
Thanks! I don't envision the screws becoming an issue down the line. but you can always dowel the top like we did the rest of the legs!
You can use screws and account for wood movement by drilling one of the pilot holes on each of the top stretchers slightly oversized. This will allow for the screws to move with the wood in each direction should there be wood movement. The other two screws will act as the anchors to prevent the table top from shifting.
Nice job
Thanks!
How did you start and what where your first projects to sell. I have spent over $800 on tools (I have a 10” miter saw a small skil table saw and a circular saw) and some 2x4s to get started but those warped badly in 12 hrs from being in Michigan winter to a warm humid house so that didn’t work out. What would you do in my position to get to that first sale and try to make a profit.
I also have a kreg pocket hole jig and a black and decker sander and drill
Thanks for the comment! The first thing I would do is make a coffee table and try to sell it on fb or Craigslist. That’s how I got started. I made a bunch of different coffee tables and posted them all and then used the money from those sales to buy more tools and wood and continued that for a while.
Okay thank you what type of wood would you buy that isn’t way too expensive?
the only scary thing in the UK is hardwood cost if you feck it up as a newbie lol
Oh trust me, I know the feeling!
