This album is so stunning. The instrumentation, the colorful vibrant horns, the vocals that barely hit the right notes but when they do its so much more impacting, THE DRUMMING ON THIS OH MY GOD! Phenomenal! Even the lore behind the band is amazing, they were just a bunch of high school friends (i believe) who formed a group purely out of a shared love for music. And organically these amazing masterpieces were created. I fell in love with this band one summer on a vacation in Croatia, the memory itself is bittersweet because of the people I went there with, but the memory of the album always brings me back. And to many other places also, I feel like the term nostalgia-wave, although a bit meme-y, yet it perfectly captures the essence of this music. In my own weird way, I see it as the polar opposite of Boards of Canada. Both totally different realms of music genre wise, yet they both delve into this nostalgia feeling. Boards of Canada's sound is cold, mechanical, and desolate - as if you're trespassing. In contrast, Brave Little Abacus is warm, inviting, and evokes a longing that urges you to linger a bit longer in this nostalgia trip, even knowing it will eventually tear you apart ... I also love the layers in this, I can listen to this album all day and it never bores me, it never bored me ever since I discovered them, there's so much going on you can always find something new to lock on and enjoy it from a whole new perspective. Truly dense piece of art ♥
now you gotta check out they're first album, masked dancers, personally I like it even more then this album. Its even more cathartic and emotional imo. on boys theme its a call the main singer got were someone is talking about how a radios playing map of the stars, which is a song from they're first album.
Yes, this is it. Never heared of these guys but I loved that a lot! This is exactly the reason why I follow channels like yours, sometimes you dig up some gold nuggets!

this album is amazing. one of the best emo albums ive heard. can you listen to the texas jerusalem crossroads by lift to experience or today i laid down by bl4ck m4rket c4rt? both are beautiful shoegaze albums. love your stuff !!! ♥
I saw someone often asking for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and I second that. Polygonwanaland or Flying Microtonal Banana would be great albums to listen to
Haven’t heard of them, pretty solid. For a bit of ‘progressive’ rock punk I still think you should check out Source Tags and Codes - And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead I love the drumming on it sm
I think you would love to hear "Socially Inept", by "Proem". It's a ambient, groovy, kinda minimalist IDM album that got me similar vibes to Boards Of Canada. It's very chill and at the same time have complex glitchy beats. Keep up the excellent work. Also, i'm really digging your whole aesthetic with the mustache and everything.
I wasn't that big of a fan of this album until I re-listened to it recently. Love it now. Also, you should definitely check out Diary by Sunny Day Real Estate, it's an emo classic.
W reaction😭 Thanks a lot When you fully enjoy this album, please listen to Susquatch-In This World. They are a japanese midwest-emo/shoegaze band, and the vocal is really smooth so it might be more enjoyable for you
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MY GUY a few recommendations: Process - Sampha (experimental r&b, great production) Nurture - Porter Robinson (light summer electric with fun production) Koi No Yokan - Deftones (very heavy, sexier and heavier radiohead imo) Hypochondriac - Brakence (very experimental emo rap, glitch pop) Reading Writing And Arithmetic - The Sundays (the smiths ish, with beautiful female vocals)
