This is the Brave Little Abacus's last show that they ever preformed. The show was recorded on January 28th, 2012, at the Vic Geary Drop-In Center. Filmed by Ty Ueda and James Attridge.
wish i could've gone to this concert instead of being six years old
Would give up a year of my lifespan to be there
As someone who was there, it warms my heart to know that there are still young people out there that show appreciation for TBLA and the bands that came up with them during this wave of emo. I'm sure you would have loved being there and we would have loved to have you.
me too

oh my god. That is like the perfect addition to how I already felt about this video haha
thats honestly a vibe
ahead of his time for real
For a long time, I always felt like one of those people who was late to discover everything. Always late to the party. I'd find out about a show/film/band/anything long after it was either no longer relevant, or in the least, already been around long enough to be on it's downward decline. It bothered me for awhile. I felt like I'd never had my own moment, in a way. To feel a part of something big as it was current, and as it was taking place. ....
But god dammit, I was there for this.
props.
I wish I was there.
Also props man you now one of the luckiest guys on the internet
you dit it!
you lucky bastard.
No one, no thing, can ever take that away from you. Even though I wasn't there, it's enough for me to know someone who enjoys them as much as I do was. Take care.
tfw you get your dad to play with you on your emo band's closing show. How cool is that.
Wasn't his dad on the cover of Just Got Back?

These guys were something special. Not only in sound, but in character. They’re pioneers of a still majorly unexplored realm of punk and emo music. Love these guys and love everyone who recorded this performance so I can watch it everyday.
I can't say they are pioneers in the genre but they literally took the midwest emo to the limit, best indie band ever
@@duzskii def not to the genre as a whole, but pioneering the expansion of emo i guess is what i meant to say haha, anyway im glad you also enjoy tbla, have a good day real emo enjoyer
His dad plays traditional grip what a classic man. Respect to him.
RIP Matt Aspinwall he's standing on the left edge of the stage
Is he dead?
May he RIP.

Happy to report that the Irish music scene has gotten way better recently
I’m way late to this band’s existence, but if I had to pick any one moment in history to go back to, it would be this show
It’s never too late to enjoy them. I know I always will.
why can't i find a single comment talking about how cracked of a guitar player adam is? his technicality is insane
Pile! No Pile! Pile! sounds absolutely beautiful live. It truly is transcendent.
This song was my theme when I moved to California at 3am in 2021
thanks to the cameramen to taking their attention, concentration, and eyes off the show to let us all see it!
i watch this daily to dance around my room, then cry because at some point it stops

@@yttriumblue something like that
I know that I’m very late to the party, but this band has consumed me like no other band has. I heard born again so many times… and I was instantly hooked by the like Mathrock infused emo with a hint of electronica. It was unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. I love this band and I cannot express how grateful I am to be able to watch this show live. The Brave little Abacus forever
This is easily the most unqiue, colorful, wonderful band I've ever had the privlage to listen to. To see them live would have been a transcendent experience. I remember the day i first listened to "Just Got Back From Discomfort--We're Okay". I dont listen to a lot of albums that are incredible on my first listen, usually they take time to ripen. But that album was something so unique and jaw-dropping that i listened to it maybe 100 times in a row. I have not heard music anywhere close to what TBLA cane up with in their short but sweet run as a band.
I had the same experience. I listened to it a hundred times in a row, every day I’d listen to it three times maybe. At first it took some getting used to- and not in a bad way. Kind of like moving into a new home. You know it belongs but it takes time for familiarity. Everything about this band is magic.
❤️ the amount of comfort this band has brought me cant be put into words
This is one of my favorite pieces of recorded history in the era of Mankind. I wish I were here to see this. Words cannot describe what I feel when I watch this performance. Ty, I cannot thank you enough for capturing this occasion in such quality! It means very much.
feeling exactly the same way!
This is such a niche section of the internet but the people who are in it adore so much.. ❤️
This gives me the same feel as the live recording of Some Kind of Cadwallader by Algernon Cadwallader in that basement where the band is near flooded by the crowd. There's something about emo that envelopes my soul. I wish I could feel that cameraderie sometime.
It's of my opinion that if we all vanished one day and this was the only thing left out somewhere in space that proved we existed in this time and place Id say humanity left a good legacy.
Man I wish I knew what I was doing when I made this.
+Ty Ueda Keep making shit though, this is still a really cool fucken' documentation of them. you'll be on some next level shit if you keep going dogg

This is the video that made me realize that I wanted to play in a band and do shows. Thanks for this.
que atmosfera mas bella, como se nota el tremendo vinculo que habia en la banda, como el adam sube a su papa al escenario...
Fun fact: The man in the album cover of Just Got Back is, in fact, Adam's dad.

I only found this band a couple months ago, and I was only seven when this happened, but I've lived in NH for almost 13 years and this just feels special for some reason
Most underrated band of all time.

The immense sadness i feel when his dad plays with them live and helped them get their equipment. The struggle to live life is quadrupled when you dont have that support. God bless you and your family. A great example of the ideal family.

Anytime I feel down, I wait that I’m at my lowest point and then I watch this video and I am born again
i just noticed something; Adam said BLA had been a thing for 4/5 years, and he said that when he was 15 he started taking the band seriously and got a PA because of his dad. was Adam 19-21 at this show? thats incredibly young holy cow
They had all been in bands before BLA, and I believe those are the times that he refers to in that story.
@jazz baby theres a podcast that adam was on talking about it and yes he was around that age
That American Girl cover is so wholesome
