This is the Brave Little Abacus's last show that they ever preformed. The show was recorded on January 28th, 2012, at the Vic Geary Drop-In Center. Filmed by Ty Ueda and James Attridge.
wish i could've gone to this concert instead of being six years old
Would give up a year of my lifespan to be there
As someone who was there, it warms my heart to know that there are still young people out there that show appreciation for TBLA and the bands that came up with them during this wave of emo. I'm sure you would have loved being there and we would have loved to have you.
me too
@@grape9306lol Ur old
Hell yes
imagine being that kid that got to record them with his 3ds
lmao wtf where is that

oh my god. That is like the perfect addition to how I already felt about this video haha
thats honestly a vibe

“Dad, why is my sister’s name Rose?”
“Because your mom loves roses”
“Thanks dad”
“No problem, The Brave Little Abacus - Last Show @ The Vic Geary Center”
For a long time, I always felt like one of those people who was late to discover everything. Always late to the party. I'd find out about a show/film/band/anything long after it was either no longer relevant, or in the least, already been around long enough to be on it's downward decline. It bothered me for awhile. I felt like I'd never had my own moment, in a way. To feel a part of something big as it was current, and as it was taking place. ....
But god dammit, I was there for this.
props.
I wish I was there.
Also props man you now one of the luckiest guys on the internet
you dit it!
you lucky bastard.
No one, no thing, can ever take that away from you. Even though I wasn't there, it's enough for me to know someone who enjoys them as much as I do was. Take care.
1:03:05 "... i think it's the best we've ever sounded, i love you guys so much. friends forever?"

His dad plays traditional grip what a classic man. Respect to him.
I’m way late to this band’s existence, but if I had to pick any one moment in history to go back to, it would be this show
It’s never too late to enjoy them. I know I always will.
RIP Matt Aspinwall he's standing on the left edge of the stage
Is he dead?
May he RIP.
rip
thank you for leaving this comment, i hadnt heard of him so i've just gone through all of his bandcamp projects and he was a genius. really amazing music, wish he was still with us
oh my god... rest in peace
thanks to the cameramen to taking their attention, concentration, and eyes off the show to let us all see it!
there are literally zero bands with this amount of inventiveness and enthusiasm in my country and it bums me out so much
Where you from man? England?
Ireland, but close
at least you had MBV@@connorchapman1232
Start your own!
Happy to report that the Irish music scene has gotten way better recently
why can't i find a single comment talking about how cracked of a guitar player adam is? his technicality is insane
tfw you get your dad to play with you on your emo band's closing show. How cool is that.
Wasn't his dad on the cover of Just Got Back?
@@collinlopez yeah i believe that's Adam's the lead singers dad on we just got back

such a great song 😫
Pile! No Pile! Pile! sounds absolutely beautiful live. It truly is transcendent.
This song was my theme when I moved to California at 3am in 2021
❤️ the amount of comfort this band has brought me cant be put into words
Man I wish I knew what I was doing when I made this.
+Ty Ueda Keep making shit though, this is still a really cool fucken' documentation of them. you'll be on some next level shit if you keep going dogg
fuck you this is perfect. i get to relive one of the best nights of my life whenever i want
Ty Ueda duck you you just earned a subscriber and yes I'm aware it says duck you

this must have been such a life-affirming experience for all these ppl to have taken part in. so envious

Fun fact: The man in the album cover of Just Got Back is, in fact, Adam's dad.
Bruh i thought he was the singer
@@Jonathan-jc4ef honestly me too lmao
Amazing. What a shame, that I discovered this amazing band 2 years after they broke up :(
TokenChineseGuy's Rare Music! most people did. They didnt gain much of a following until years after
28:42 that song rocks me to my core. I listen to that same song on repeat while I study my final project in undergrad. Thank you for that.
how are you doing?
Actual best band to ever exist
I only found this band a couple months ago, and I was only seven when this happened, but I've lived in NH for almost 13 years and this just feels special for some reason
andrew ryan really rocking the anthony fantano flannel
there are like 50 different dudes in this video rocking the fantano flannel
A man chooses...
I've been watching this video for almost two years and this is probably my most-watched video on TH-cam, thank you so much!
+Felipe Brandão Thanks Felipe! Glad you enjoy it!
same
it was lucky to see this live performance. It makes me understand how to feel this band more and more.
lucky!
Most underrated band of all time.
Not anymore :)
This was really well recorded. I could definitely see this getting a DVD release.
one of the best videos on youtube lmao, this had to be soo much fun cause i'm sitting here in my seat jumping around and i wasn't even there
10 years old today. Wish I could see them live.
All these last show vids make me feel so happy and sad at the same time
Discovered this band last year and they've become one of my favorites. It makes me so sad that I'll never be able to see them live, or hear anything new from them.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
They stopped hours ago
@@mondoburger4998 good one
I'd kill a man in every one of my future lives and serve the rest of my sequential independent eternities in jail just to have seen the Brave Little Abacus play just this one time

thank you so unbelievably much for preserving this set. i am forever grateful that i can watch this. thank you!
this is seriously the best band ever. long live BLA
this is unbelievable. a Festivus miracle!
That American Girl cover is so wholesome
i’m leaving a comment like 2 years after discovering tbla and this video but the brave little abacus means everything to me
I wish I could have seen this!!! I don't even feel weird applauding to my laptop in public right now. Great job guys!
Holy fuck im so stupid for never realizing that that was Laura Stevenson singing on the American Girl cover
man, the pile! no pile! pile! performance so beautiful...i wish i knew about this band before they broke up :(
The immense sadness i feel when his dad plays with them live and helped them get their equipment. The struggle to live life is quadrupled when you dont have that support. God bless you and your family. A great example of the ideal family.
you know when one the players looks like the riddler the mosh gonna go hard
Thank you both for taking the time and effort to attend the concert, film it and then edit it. Means a lot!
Hope you had a tremendous time!
What'd you use to film this? there's so many beautiful shots and amazing deph of field. Doesn't seem like the most high end camera but you def knew what you were doing
BEEFISBURGERS this was shot on a Pentax K-x with a 50mm 1.7 aftermarket lens. Wide open. Still the sharpest lens I’ve ever used. Camera B is a Canon TsomethingI with the kit lens I believe.
Keep coming back to this 👌🏼
truly amazing
This is probably my favorite video on the TH-cam
13:40 and 31:00 are truly beautiful and im so glad this was documented

Friends forever?
SOUL
I can’t believe BLA never got big in their time period
Snowcardinal all things considered they're gaining lots of recognition now. Adam is putting stuff on streaming so who knows if a reunion of sorts is possible in the future
@@classicpinball9873 sadly, that's not the case, there's an interview with Adam saying BLA's music was put on streaming by some guy on the internet, and basically they're still broken up
@@mechadam6761 is that up to date? I remember hearing that adam himself went ahead and fixed it so he should be getting the proper credit now
@@mechadam6761 he officially put them on streaming platforms on October 2020. and it doesn't look like he's at war with the other band members or anything, in fact they're friends forever
thank you the brave little abacus for everything you made.

This video is so great, I'm glad there was some good footage of them on youtube. Thanks man
there has to be more live footage of this band out there somewhere.

the amount of people wearing flannels in this video is amazing
This was hipster fashion being in full swing. I remember flannels being grimey until some of my friends got into Midwest emo in 2010 and all of a sudden we were all wearing flannels lol
39:00 I can't get over this moment lmao
If you look closely, he reloads his camera flash batteries a couple moments ago then prepares to capture the audience
And looks so disappointed when it failed to flash and capture, a really funny moment I wanted to highlight

god, they all look like they're having a fantastic time
I regret never being able to see them live
using an sm57 for his voice cause that THANG is a fucking INSTRUMENT. (Positive connotations)
always sad. never forget.
are youre brains big enough to get their feelings hurt? well me neither
would it be possibe to email this to me? i would love to have this on my ipod.
youtube to mp4
I see it too climax they are fucking rocking out. I fucking love this video
Would you mind if I ripped the audio from this video and made a sort of bootleg live album from it? The audio quality is superb. I would give you and James Attridge all of the credit for the recording, but if you'd rather I didn't rip the audio then that's fine too and I understand.
+Tyler Redman Go for it if you're still interested. There's a few issues that unfortunately we can't resolve (original audio file(s) have been deleted) and there's quite a bit drift because when I made this I had no idea the difference between 44.1K and 48K. But be my guest and give credit where credit is due!
I just wish I was there
this is what makes it all worth it
