I have a worst school lunch story, I was in the 6th grade just started middle school. It was a hot day, in CA, I was sitting there eating my lunch. All of a sudden I was hit in the head by a flying apple. Kids started to laugh while i sat there crying. The only one that asked me if i was okay was a boy I had a crush on. Thanks Charles!
Oh my God, how awful. You poor thing. Just reading this makes me wanna cry. Such horrible things happen in middle school. I am so glad I am not in middle school still. Thank you so much for sharing. ~Money Saving Mama

@@jennifermunn6898 thank you. No scary lunch stories here. The one item so far that my son really didn’t like and I tasted it, and I couldn’t barely eat it. A hotdog. It wasn’t beef. The fried chicken strips and French fries that anyone under the age of 30 had when we were in school was so much healthier than the junk in this video.
@@Mycatsmeow2 oh chicken strips and french fries sound really good. I’ve even heard the ketchup be called a vegetable. The french fries definitely would be the second vegetable. Worst school lunch story: Being famished, forced to sit in the cafeteria with the other kids, yet not being able to eat. Mom too proud to apply for free or reduced lunch, but couldn't afford to pay for lunch at school. And if I carried something for lunch, there would be less to eat at home.
@@karynstouffer3562 I can totally understand where your mom is coming from. It’s hard to admit that you need help. But when children are involved if your mother needed a little bit of help, especially so that you could receive lunch then there’s no shame in that.. i’m glad to say that our entire state will receive free breakfast and lunch for every single student that enters the school system . You will no longer know if a student gets reduced lunch or free lunch because everyone gets free lunch. There’s no shame in that. Hope you had a great weekend. @@MoneySavingMama777 That's great news for today's kids. Some of the kids I went to school with were teased about their green or pink lunch tickets. Yeah, I'm that old. Green was for free, pink was reduced, and blue was full price. Once Mom remarried, I went to a new school. They had a salad bar in the high school cafeteria. That was pretty awesome. $1.59 for all you could fit into the huge (4 cups) bowl. Greens, meats and cheeses, different types of vegetables, nuts and seeds, you name it. I could buy my own lunch with babysitting money.
That's terrible. I made 10 cents too much to get ebt and that meant I didn't qualify for free lunches. I was a single mom and didn't have much time off work to go to food banks. It was rough but I used the little money I had left to buy stuff for lunches and breakfast. Once a month on a Saturday we could go too 1 food bank. That was a blessing. I used whatever I got from that for dinners. But for my kids lunches I bought a loaf of bread, some kind of meat. Whichever was 99 cents, a bag of apples, bag of popcorn that I would pop myself and a box of Capri suns which were 2.99 for 10. It worked out perfectly with my 2 girls.
@@karynstouffer3562 Yes it is so nice to know they can receive free breakfast and lunch. It’s peace of mind. It’s a little help. When my daughter started school, the kids that got free lunch had to sit together, the kids that got reduced lunch, had to sit together and the kids that brought lunch from home had to sit together. This was absolutely horrible. It was like segregating the poor people, the little bit poor people, and the people that were not poor.😡 Hope you’re having a great week and thank you so much for watching. ~ Money Saving Mama
@@GuenevereSlater My mom used to pack me a tuna sandwich on white bread with an apple. Tuna in a can was cheap. I always wish I could have the good lunches. My friends got. But we always had a roof over our heads. Electricity was on the water was paid and we had a car to drive. 🏡
