Pretty good video. A couple points- Atieva started out wanting to be a parts supplier to the big OEMs. They saw the EV revolution coming and naturally figured that GM, Ford, etc. would end up jumping on board. Atieva would be there ready to sell them validated EV components, but we all know what happened. The big OEMs dragged their feet and hoped EVs would just go away. They weren't going to build their own car until Rawlinson showed up. Next, Lucid's finances. Lucid is majority owned by the trillion dollar Saudi Public Investment Fund. It is part of that nations goal to build up a portfolio of businesses to diversify away from oil production. This is a good thing. The PIF is paying to build a car company with factories around the world, including in Saudi. Lucid already has one plant there and is building its second full size factory there. Lucid has vast cash on hand and the PIF's investment in Lucid so far is just a rounding error compared to their wealth. Finally, there is a lot of negative press about EVs today, much of it misleading. Lucid, like Every significant EV manufacturer, is seeing sales continue to increase this year. Only Tesla sales are down and may finish the year below 2023 numbers. In KBB's Q3 report the Lucid Air was outselling the Model S and every other luxury EV sedan. The Gravity SUV is being produced now and we will see our first look at Lucid's smaller car sometime late next year.
Great vehicle, I believe everything you are saying about it. The problem with the company was that their original delivered vehicle was just too pricey for the buying public. They needed to scale up, not down, time will tell.

Well, someone’s bias is showing here! The Saudi’s own this company, and the fact that you didn’t disclose that information right up front, puts you in the suspect pool of those who have some type of conflicted interest in seeing a company survive/succeed in an otherwise very competitive marketplace. So had you disclose that information, you would have preserved your credibility as a reviewer who’s not in anyway conflicted about the product/company, that they’re reviewing. It should be noted, that you didn’t show the lucid air beside a Tesla Model S, and so was that deliberate? Why did you avoided doing that, as it makes me question why? It is also disputable that this gentleman, Peter Rawlinson, was the chief architect or designer of the Tesla model S, as it’s reported, that he was not the chief designer, he did, however, notably worked on the design team at Tesla that came up with the design of the Tesla Model S, that I am currently driving today. So lucid is in financial trouble, and at some point, even the Saudi’s are going to start questioning it’s viability in the marketplace under current economic conditions, and at some point investors are going to also become weary of the fact that this company simply cannot make a profit for them, therefore, they too will start to move their money in another direction, and so unless this Company can come up with something that can compete with Tesla, they’ve got a problem don’t you think?
