haha thanks man. I did host a car show for a few years, so had nice training. Definitely going to try and do as many of these as possible on my channel going forward.
Love my early production '22 Air GT. Take it to all my favorite fun roads, Rockies/Ozarks/TX Hill Country. Over the years I've spent a good bit of time on track, 2 & 4 wheels, but I do love electric cars for street use. I followed Lucid since they were Atieva and racing sportscars with their converted electric Astro van in the desert. Becoming Lucid after hiring Rawlinson was a win. Before Tesla he was chief engineer at Lotus and research engineer at Jaguar before that (XJ220 era). In his spare time he designed and built 2-seat sportscar kits using unique aluminum extrusion and adhesive techniques that are now seen in Tesla, Lucid, and elsewhere. He's the real deal, a real engineer and a life-long "car guy". He hired in a crew of top end car guys, including Derek Jenkins who designed the ND MX-5. Their corporate headquarters lot is full of M5s, M3s, and Porsches. It's car guys all the way down. Lucid is driver's car, but plush and comfy. Early reviews of their new SUV, just now in production, are Very positive and cut from the same cloth. We should see the first of their smaller cars revealed late next year. They have huge financial backing.
When Parker Kligerman says the Lucid Air Grand Touring is closer to the Porsche Taycan than all of the Teslas, I believe him. I have followed Parker from his Sim Racing days.
Lucid are great at making drivers cars. Even the new Gravity 7 seat three row SUV is getting great acclaim for it's ride and handling. Peter Rawlinson CEO & CTO at Lucid Brit Rawlinson is an engineer at heart with one of the best EV track records in the business. He was the engineering brain behind Tesla’s first proper production car, the Model S, designed the platform for the Th!nk electric city car that was eventually bought by Ford and has also had stints at Jaguar, Lotus and Corus Automotive. It's no wonder Lucid makes great drivers cars. The Lucid Air Sapphire is the pinnacle of what Lucid has to offer in the performance and handling stakes.
Your girlfriend has some really honest, unfiltered takes on ergonomics, which is VERY important. You should get her in the Gravity! I wonder what she'd have to say about the ergo and interior of that model compared to this one. She's the first person I've seen on TH-cam that hated the dash layout - maybe it looks different from the passenger side.
Maybe A little too honest. I mean she seems overly negative about some features. "The screen is horrible" but why? it looks nicer than any other dash screen out there!? And yes it doesn't fit your big as annoying Stanley Cup. They don't fit anywhere. Get a smaller can then!

@JohnGeorgeHill it really depends on what you are comparing. As far as I know, lucid can make great cars but can't make profit. How long can that be sustained? In theory, if yoy spend more to manufacture anything, you are expected to have a better product.
100% state of charge + Silicon Valley to San Diego = no charge break required at 65-70 mph. I would love to come out for the challenge! I'm a life long car guy have raced and modified cars from rally to import to muscle in many private and public events. Nothing professional but would love to test my skills against a real pro.
I think this is one of the reviews, because there is a million reviews you can find talking about hard data. It is always good to watch something different.
Really enjoying this
thanks, Alanis!
Great review and we are looking forward to review Lucid Gravity
Yes, I love this already. Parker Kligerman making car reviews!
Thanks! Full write up on the Autopian tomorrow as well
Bro this is absolutely fantastic. Honestly you could make a living taking your experience to car reviews

@@Angusoksen "They placed three monitors together." That's pretty spot on.
@@Angusoksen the layout, to be fair, IS pretty bad for the shape they used. It's not atrocious, but it's not great either.

Please ditch your pumper spam. It is counter-productive at best. Nobody wants to hear it.
Tesla thanks you for the free advertisement. Anytime anybody states car X vs Tesla, it's just a testament that they are the measuring stick.
What happens when everyone starts surpassing that measuring stick? Certainly the Teslas have lost their cache, their mojo. Too many, too bland.

this car cost $100k+. Tesla ain't scared
It would be helpful if Lucid won't lose $100k on every vehicle.
In regard to your title, Lucid is irrelevant to Tesla.
Zero hard data. Useless emotional review.
It's an emotionally engaging car to drive. Their suspension is the key (see Munro & Savage Geese about that). Much more M5 than Model S.
