River Bank Epic! - Element RC Ecto Rock Crawling

The river is low and that means one thing: rock crawling on the river bank. At low water I can drive all the way to the springs canyon. Though, as you will see in the video, a tufa spring provides a beautiful but slick crux to the traverse. Damp feet are inevitable on the submerged rock shelf.
The Element RC Ecto loves this type of driving. It’s long wheelbase remains stable on the boulder strewn, off-camber terrain. Watching the footage, one can’t help but be reminded of desert Utra4 rock racing!
Film, driving, and navigating all at the same time is always challenging. I put a muddy foot on a sloping slab of rock and went down quite hard. I may have broken a rib (sleeping was painful afterwards) but most importantly, I saved the camera! So, public service announcement: be careful out there and don’t take chances.
