@@macdreidle1 No, he calls out to "Luke" at the end of Empire, as the Millennium Falcon flies away. Luke replies, "Father"? That was the first time Darth Vader calls him "Luke".
This is one of the most pure viewings of this movie I've seen in a long time. So fun to see the magic of seeing a beloved movie for the first time with little or no previous knowledge about it. Thanks you two!
You guys picked up so much on your first viewing especially how the Emperor planned and could foresee everything…except for the “little bears” (the Ewoks) ! The point behind that being a creature so small and seemingly insignificant with primitive weapons were so tiny to the emperor that he didn’t even consider them. Yet they brought down the biggest strongest most powerful army in the Galaxy.Sometimes in our lives we feel small and like no one considers us significant but never give up and never doubt yourself. Sometimes the smallest things end up making the biggest difference. And THAT is why it is so important to try to make someone smile today. We could change OUR Galaxy by doing that!
Their commentary on Palpatine's machinations made me think they need to watch the prequels immediately. And the idea that the Empire was undermined by the primitive population of an occupied world was the intent of George Lucas' interpretation of the Vietnam War and the consequences the US endured as a result.
Everyone who ever watched star wars knew the emperor forseen things. He says stuff multiple times. Then they happen in return of the jedi. Only takes common sense!
I always like that subtle bit of acting by Carrie Fisher on the shuttle when Luke says Vader's on that ship. The look says she senses something too, even if she doesn't quite understand it.
Rest in peace Sir Alec Guiness(Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi), Kenny Baker(R2-D2), Carrie Fisher(Leia Organa), Peter Mayhew(Chewbacca), David Prowse(Darth Vader), Bob Anderson(Darth Vader), Sebastian Shaw(original Anakin Skywalker), and Jeremy Bulloch(Boba Fett). Gone, but not forgotten.
The murder bears are called Ewoks, though they don't say the name in the movie. The one that finds Leia is named Wicket, and was played by Warwick Davis. Warwick stars in the movie Willow (along with your boy Val Kilmer), which you should add to your list. We named our pandemic pups Wicket and Willow 🙂💜
I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. It brought me back to 1983, when I was ten years old, seeing this movie in the theater for the first time. When Vader saved Luke by grabbing the Emperor and throwing him down the shaft, the entire audience leaped to its feet and roared. An amazing experience back then. And I think if you two had been with us back in 83, you'd have been on your feet, too!
First of all, Amber, don't feel guilty about wanting to binge-watch the original Star Wars trilogy 😆 Just be glad that you have reviewed them all now, and can do so whenever you please 😊 Second, y'all head-boppin' to the Imperial Theme was priceless 🤣 Thirdly, Jay, they are Ewoks, and everyone wants one 😂 And forthly, thank you for all of your reactions of both film and music. Much love to you both, your kids, and the entire Rob Squad fam ✌️
Yeah, the Ewoks are TOY merchandize !!!! LOL.Lucas had 100% on all Star Wars merch,I'm sure he made a COOL 30/40 mil off his merch.Laughing all the way to the bank TOO. LOL.
First Ewoks. Then Gungans. Now....the ultimate cuteness power in the Galaxy - Baby Yoda aka The Child. Aka Grogu. If Amber loved Yoda....she's gonna love Baby Yoda.
I've watched this movie so many times I couldn't count - somehow you've done an incredible magic trick where it felt I was genuinely watching this for this first time - your innocence towards it without baggage, or expectation, made this probably the purest reaction one could ever hope for. To the point of tears. This was special. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Yes, rare in this world are true 1st time viewers who haven't been clued in to the spoilers, memes, or hype. They are also lucky because they can *almost* claim a spot next to us original releasers. The only thing they missed is the original big-screen spectacle that can't be put into words. There is a treat in store for everyone who's only seen these on a TV or a small screen the next time they are re-released in a theater (when?!).
I couldn’t help but giggle when it was mentioned we had to wait three years for the next episode. While that was true I had to wait 42 years to see all nine episodes. From being 6 years old to 48 years old to see it all. Can you imagine the devotion that took? 😊 SO WORTH IT! I wish I had a way to share my story with you both about seeing Star Wars back in 1977 with my grandmother. ❤️
I've enjoyed your reactions so so much! Next up to see are episodes 1-3, which show us how the Empire came to be and how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. Eps 1-3 have different tone and stuff from 4-6, but I think you'll enjoy the story all the same!
Part of the modern reaction by someone who doesn't know anything means that comments like this are actually spoilers. Yeah, 25 years ago when Episdoe I came out the advertising made it clear (plus all the webisodes about the making) that that was the plan, but let people experience it without you all thinking you're so clever that you're going to be the one(s) to give them the info. They already said they were going to watch them (and have by the time I'm writing this) so there was no need to tell them ANYTHING. Think about this in the future when there are more reactions to these movies.
@@firstenforemostthank you! I truly hate people that just HAVE to flex their knowledge. Don’t be the one to spoil it. It’s so narcissistic. Just let people enjoy the journey without being so know it all.
I think my favorite scene out of this film may be where Luke is below the stairs. Half in light, half in darkness while being tempted to lash out in anger. Perfect storytelling of inner conflict in that scene without dialogue.
Yes. Even when Luke turns himself in, he and Vader exchange words, and then Vader is left in the hallway by himself, alone. He doesn't have to say a thing. The camera and his posture show us he's conflicted, and chewing on Luke's words: "Then my father is truly dead...." They knew how to tell stories back then. Nowadays there would be full paragraphs of exposition to explain what Vader is thinking in that moment.
Just imagine how people of my generation felt. We had to wait "years" in between the Star Wars releases. 😄 *I do love watching you guys discover it tho. It takes me right back to how I felt my first time seeing them.
I’m an OG Star Wars fan, from 1977 onward. The three years between THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI was a long one and a fairly impatient one (fortunately we had the 1981 & 1982 movie years to keep us busy, and there were a LOT of great films that came out during that time!), but I will never forget waiting in line overnight outside the theater where I would see Episode VI on Opening Day, May 25, 1983. I got to the theater around 8 pm the night before. My best friends had gotten there even earlier and were able to snag tickets to see the movie at the 3 am showing (there was also a midnight showing that was sold out before any of us got there). The 3 am showing was sold out by the time I arrived so I was only able to get my ticket for the next showing, which was at 9 am, over 12 hours later. My buddies got tickets for that showing too so we could all enjoy it together. I brought my sleeping bag and a pillow with my Star Wars pillowcase over it, and a couple magazines to read while I waited in line. (The experience of waiting in line outside the theater like we did regularly for big event movies like this was something I wish had never gone away, because it was as memorable as the movie itself.) After the 3 am showing got out, my friends didn’t spoil it for me but they said it was the best ever and that I would love it, which is what I wanted, of course. And finally it was time for the 9 am show, and we all filed into the theater with our belongings in tow, sleepy but excited that finally this three year wait was about to end! We were finally seeing it! And I loved it, just loved it! We were JUST LIKE YOU GUYS!!! Fortunately the volume in the theater was cranked up high, but I remember hollering at the screen: “DO SOMETHING!!! That’s your SON!!! Don’t just stand there!!!” And then.....he moved. I swear to you, you have never experienced an explosion of nerd ecstasy like that theater did that morning. We were apoplectic, totally beside ourselves, screaming excitedly and babbling incoherently like maniacs for about 30 seconds. And tears were flowing like rivers of joy. It was probably the greatest moviegoing experience in my entire life. I really wish you could have been there. But you came pretty close to it in this video. You two are real Star Wars fans, definitely. This OG fan has declared you so. By the way, the teddy bears are called Ewoks. And their language is Ewokese, which was largely based on Kalmyk Oirat, a language spoken by Russians of the Kalmyk region, and was also influenced by assorted African and South Pacific languages. Sound Designer (and genius) Ben Burtt got some people who spoke those languages to tell stories in their native language and he recorded them. Then voice actors learned the cobbled-together language phonetically and acted their parts in a recording studio. Pretty cool, huh?
Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm also an OG fan from 1977. Your comment reminded me of my experience and it was so similar to yours. I love watching their reactions, because I have no one right now to share them with. It does me good to see a younger generation enjoy them and on the edge of their seats like I was.
Hey, thanks for sharing!!! OG fan here also. Loved what you said about the experience of waiting in line with your friends. I am thrilled to see young people like this young couple discover and enjoy what we enjoyed over 4 decades ago. Star Wars fans are the nicest people!!
As I'm sure someone has already mentioned, the 'teddy bears' were called Ewoks (EE-wok). Shortly after this movie was released, they came out with stuffed toy Ewoks. I bought one for my young daughter.
Lucas CASHED in on the Ewoks merch !!! LOL.He had 100% merchandizing of all Star Wars merchandize, what a SWEET deal !!! Problably made a cool 30/40 mil off merch for this film alone.
One of my earliest childhood memories is the Halloween my mom converted a bear costume into an Ewok for my brother. It was a huge hit. Wish we had photos of it still.
So great. Your reaction is proof that George Lucas' original trilogy is timeless. Yes, when "Empire" ended you sat there going "Three years?" I hope you enjoy the other films, but for me this original trilogy is the heart and soul of "Star Wars". You guys are GREAT!
I am of the Star Wars generation and saw all of these in theater as a kid. These movies mean a lot to me. I will prepare you, these original 3 movies are legendary and almost universally loved....the ones that follow later are not as revered. Be ready for a mixed bag. And yes, always watch in release order, as the film-makers intended.
I think the emotional impact is greater when watching in the order of IV, V, I, II, III, VI. By watching all the prequels between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, you really appreciate Darth Vader's redemption arc. Obviously, you can't do that now. I think you'd be best served by watching all the prequels in release order, then Rogue One, then the sequel movies.
@@wantutosigh1117 It's very sensical. You get the reveal about Luke's parentage, and then you dip into the history of Anakin and Vader. That makes RotJ emotional finale even more impactful.
I've always been kind of on the fence about how a new viewer should see them, because if you watch in the release order then you get the grand reveal of Vader being Luke's father and Leia his sister, but if you watch in series order then you don't have the foreknowledge that Anakin will become Vader which would make his ultimate betrayal of the Jedi and transformation into Vader much more of a surprise.
You have to watch episodes 1, 2 & 3 next. A lot of people bag on the "prequels" but they are actually pretty awesome. The lightsaber fights are amazing, the characters, adventure, the story line, the genesis of Darth Vader and the Emperor, and Obi Wan Kenobi... as well as some awesome new characters (Padme, Darth Maul, Jar Jar Binks)... I can't wait to experience Episode 1 with you!!
Love watching with you guys. Really takes me back. Next up should be the prequels. Episodes 1 thru 3. You get to see how Anakin became Vader, and the Emperor became himself.
I'm so pleased no one spoiled you on the other Skywalker. Your reaction was priceless and mirrored pretty much all of us in the theatre as we watched it unfold.
" that planet looks like earth. It looks really earth like" that part was filmed in a redwood forest in California. The guy in the Chewbacca suit was told not to wander around in costume, they were afraid to start stories about Big Foot sightings
This is the most awesome reaction to Return of the Jedi that I have ever seen!!! You guys got into it with such wide-eyed fascination that I almost felt like I was watching the movie for the first time too. I saw it for the first time in the theater when I was 15 years old and have watched it too many times to count since that day. It was sooo refreshing to see and feel the emotion from both of you as you experienced one of my all time favorite movies!!! The teddy bears are called Ewoks. The one that Leia befriended is Wicket played by Warwick Davis when he was 11 years old. The next step for you guys should be Episodes 1-3, Obi-Wan Kenobi and then Rogue 1. A tall order i know but I am totally looking forward to you guys seeing more great stories. 😃😎😍
So totally agree, just watched the reaction videos tonight and laughed cried and was thrilled along with you while watching all 3. I was 8 years old when I saw Star Wars - A new hope in theaters in 1977 and watching you tonight made me feel like I was back there again
Agree with you, for me it is the shocked reactions to the storyline as it is unfolding that nearly everyone knows as it has been part of our entire adult lives after seeing them in the theaters as kids when they came out and it like l get to feel that again, but is also real fun knowing what is about to happen & waiting to see them go WTF ;-)
actually if you really think about it Vader wasn't really trying to strike down Luke. If he really wanted to, he would've. "You are unwise to lower your defenses" was his warning without evening warning him. If he wanted to kill Luke when he was on the platform trying to talk to him he would've done it. He was conflicted as much as he kept saying he wasn't, but his actions spoke louder than his words. He was warning Luke the whole time when he was about to attack.
This movie has a special place for me. I was born in Belfast Northern Ireland and my family and I came to the States in 1983 when I was just 8 years old and this was not just the first movie I saw in the US but the first movie theater experience. I love my home country but Belfast in the 80s was a literal war zone. The one theater in Lisburn the suburb of Belfast we lived in, was bombed by the IRA and almost burned to the ground. So this movie represents to me the new life we got in America
I saw this in the movies too. (I was also 8 actually) But I have a story to tell you that you might find interesting. I was in northern Ontario (Canada). Especially pre-internet days, a lot of rural Canada's culture comes from the British, so the Irish were really disliked (there was an Irish family in my town who was really not treated well). My dad moved to ON from the southern US in 1951 as a young adult. This was the segregated South were Black people were second-class citizens. He was always amazed how the White people around us had no issue with us, but hated other White people (the Irish) As Ecclesiastes 8:9 says, "that man has dominated man to his harm". Only under God's Kingdom will such wickedness of racial and ethnic bigotry no longer be! The Bible shows that this will happen soon
The concept art designer for Star Wars was a genius. Some of the best looks for everything, from star ships to the creatures to the look and feel of everything. The armored guy who flew over during the rescue mission and was clowned by a blind Han was Boba Fett, the bounty hunter who brought him in. He was extremely popular.
This is the good Star Wars with the original cast. If you like these you should watch Space Balls you will laugh all the way through. Please do Willow , Labyrinth ( David Bowie) Never Ending Story Told you Jay you would get a light Sabre . So great to see you joined the force.
Wicket Ewok (the first one that met Leia) was played by Warwick Davis, the one that played Willow! I've loved all the Star Wars, but this one (Return of the Jedi) is my favorite!
I would say this is the fifth or sixth best Star Wars movie, behind Empire, A New Hope, Rogue One, The Force Awakens, and arguably The Revenge of the Sith.
I have watched this movie well over 100 times, I wore a hole in the VHS tape we had taped off network TV. I can't recall ever crying when vader said "tell your sister, you were right", but bro made me cry over that. Always tugged at my heart strings, but your reaction touched me so much. Keep them coming, I can't wait for y'all to watch the rest. Release order I think is the best for sure, otherwise you can get spoiled for certain things.
Oh my gosh! Watching your reactions to the Star Wars movies has been such a joy for me. Reliving the experience through your eyes and feelings has me remembering how much these movies have meant to me. Thank you so much! BTW the huge mechanical machines that shoot everything are called Imperial walkers and the smaller versions are called At Ats.
watching your channel is like reliving my childhood in a great why. The movies, the music, you guys have an amazing channel. Thank you for the memories.
So, so glad to see you guys enjoy these movies as much as my generation did. I grew up on these flicks. And as you can tell, the special effects were waaay ahead of their time back then. Industrial Light and Magic (the director, George Lucas's FX company he founded in 1975) truly knew what they were doing. Of course these effects cannot touch what they do nowadays, but you can imagine how it was for us to see these films back then, how amazing we thought they were. Y'all definitely have to get into the prequel series now (Episodes I, II, & III). You guys will absolutely love the backstories of all the characters you have now grown to love by watching eps IV, V, and VI.
Now that you’ve finished the original trilogy, you should watch Spaceballs. It’s a spoof with a nod to several movies of the time, but mainly Star Wars. I always enjoy your reactions!
@@OneEyedJack1970 I feel like Alien isn’t necessary before Spaceballs. It’s only one scene really that’s taken from Alien. If you went by those rules, they would need to see Planet of the Apes as well. I feel like the original trilogy is the most important prerequisite. Not that I don’t recommend both movies. They’re classics!
Loved it! The next are the pre sequels! Episode 1 2 3! Darth as a boy! How he became who he is.. Can't wait to share it and seeing you react to it! Order of release is the best way!!
Yes watch episodes 1,2,3. If you want backstory, these are essential! They show Anakin (Darth) as a boy and how he learns from Obi Wan, how he became a father and what ultimately turned him to the Dark Side. Can't wait to see your reactions!!
@@tinahairston6383 The recent ones (minus Rogue One) are indeed trash, but the prequels are essential to get the full story, which can be basically summed up as "The rise, downfall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker"
@@boristurovskiy351 They aren't "essential." They fill in backstory that didn't need to be filled in. It's okay to have backstory that is just alluded to. We don't need it to be fully spelled-out. Especially when it's spelled out with horrible film making, crap writing, terrible acting, etc. The prequel trilogy is unnecessary, poorly made, and does not need to be watched.
it was so much fun watching this with you guys I loved the smile on Ambers face she looked like a little kid seeing this for the first time it reminded me of when I first saw this 40 years ago as a 6 year old kid thanks y'all much love
The little teddy bear creatures are called Ewoks. I’m so glad you have finished the original trilogy. It is such a great story! Next you need to watch episodes I, II, and III.
Brilliant video guys! Really enjoyed your genuine reactions. Please watch Episodes 1-3 next to see how Anakin became Vader. The new trilogy is not so good, but Rogue One is fantastic (it ends just before a New Hope)
Unfortunately Disney came into the picture and screwed the whole thing up. But you're right this trilogy, Rocky, Rambo, missing in action and so many more movies that our generation was blessed with are part of what helped us become the men and women that we are today.
The problem I have with this episode( and it is one of my favorites),is that the actor who played the Vader at the end of this movie, was removed from the credits after the 1 through 3 episodes were released and Hayden Christensen was put into his place.
While it works for the canon going forward, it to me at the time, was a slap in the face to Sebastian Shaw. Although he was already long dead before the edit took place.
@@mhill781 I don't think it works replacing Shaw with Christiansen, because (in my view) the second Vader picks up the Emperor, he's redeemed and becomes Anakin again, so his force ghost should be as he was at the time of his death.
What a great reaction! I loved how you got so into it and so emotional. You had me crying, and I’ve seen this movie probably hundreds of times. Thank you as always for sharing with us.
Nothing like your first time watching Star Wars and that excitement you experienced. I remember that when I first saw the movies when they first came out. It's a one time experience and it looked like you guys reacted exactly how everyone did back in the day! Brought back some memories.
The eternal power of this story- you went from 'no, he'll never be good,' to begging Vader to do something in the face of the Emperor's greater evil, to cheering when he did. Vader finally says 'No,' and takes a stand, and we all cheer 'YES!' Always amazing to see someone else fall into this wonderful universe. Cant wait to see you react to the further movies in the series!
I have loved watching you discover the original Star Wars trilogy. It’s hard to adequately explain the impact of these movies. George Lucas created a mythology for a generation. (The duel between Luke and Vader is, I think, one of the best and heaviest conflict scenes in any movie…plus the music behind it…then the climax and resolution when Luke’s instincts about Vader are vindicated…like I said, a perfect modern mythology.)
The Vader story was amazing, cause we never ever expected such a develepment of the character. We as boys in the 80's just wanna have the Toys to play the story with them, but after this movie I just fell in love with this character. It is the best bad guy in history. My dream was to have the toy of the Ewok town and a lot of Speeder Bikes with thier imperial soldiers. Thank you so much, it was like seeing it at the movie with friends. Regards from Chile!! 🙂
Such a great reaction!! I've watched a lot of reactors and seeing both your faces when Luke sees all 3 ghosts at the end... "They're so proud of him" you got me tearing up with you lol can't wait to watch your reaction to the prequel trilogy! Thanks for sharing!!
I saw Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back on cable but THIS I saw in the theater - a couple times - and I was blown away. The ewoks and the speeder bike chase scenes were my favorite parts of the movie. And Salacious Crumb the cackling thing in Jabba's palace! Such great memories - so glad you guys loved the trilogy.
So glad you guys got to see this.... Now its time to watch the prequel trilogy; The Phantom Menace, The Attack of the Clones & The Revenge of the Sith.... this trilogy gives you the history of Darth Vader & Obi Wan..... Also now, if you watch 'Spaceballs' you'll get all the references 👍👍👍
I saw this movie in the theater in 1983 and watching yall hit with the feels took me back to that theater experience and brought tears to my eyes again. Fun watch!
My husband has always been a huge Star Wars fan but I could never get into it. After watching your reactions I gave the movies another chance. I now love them! I have been watching and re-watching them with my husband and I have a much better appreciation for them before :)
Hey guys. Shout out from the US Marine Corps! I know it's been a while since you guys have watched this movie, but I am just finally getting around to you guyses reaction to Star Wars! and oh my God, it does not disappoint. You guys' wholesomeness and happiness make this movie so much more enjoyable to watch with you guys! I've been watching you guys' channel for a little while now and absolutely love watching you guys' reaction to movies! I don't know if you guys have done Interstellar, Nobody, Cellular or Man From Uncle yet. But if you have a chance, those are some really good watches! I have so many comments about this movie I want to say that I can't say them all because it would be like a book. One thing I wish u had left in is when Han Solo talks to the Prison Lieutenant in cell block 1138 and he says, "We're all fine here now, how are you?" In a New Hope! I wanted to see you guyses reaction so bad! Kekek Love you guys and please keep up the great love! ❤🤍💙💛
YES! IT'S HERE!!!! Great reaction you two! 😊 This one ties for second with "Revenge of the Sith", for my favorite movies in the whole Star Wars saga. I was 8 years old when this movie first came out in 1983. And to an 8 year old girl, at the time Jabba the Hutt was pretty scary. LOL! I'll always remember waiting in the theater lobby, and not going in to the theater until after Leia killed Jabba. Two of the saddest moments in this movie is when Yoda dies, and towards the end when that Ewok is killed. And my favorite scenes are when Luke tells Leia that they're brother and sister. And the Ewok celebration at the end. I've always loved how Han and Leia reversed the "I love you" "I know" lines. Luke and Vader's lightsaber fight on the Death Star is one of my favorite lightsaber fights. And that last moment between Luke and Anakin, after Luke removes the mask, always brings a tear to my eyes. That is in fact the younger version on Anakin Skywalker there at the end standing with Obi-Wan and Yoda. He's played by Hayden Christensen who you will definitely see in the prequel trilogy. Up Next is the Prequel Trilogy beginning with "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace". I very highly recommend the second in the Indiana Jones series "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and the 1984 "The Karate Kid". Looking forward to your next music and movie reactions. 😊
I was 23 when "Star Wars IV: A New Hope" came out in 1977. Of course it was simply called "Star Wars" then. It was like nothing we had ever seen before and we were all completely blown away. And I was a science fiction nerd for about half of my young life, so I had seen a lot of the old movies on a black-and-white television set. It was an international blockbuster (so named because the lines to buy tickets at the big screen movie theaters would stretch down the block; no internet, no advanced ticket orders, arrive early, bring cash). The ball was rolling and would not be stopped. Two years later, a book on "The Art of Star Wars" was published and that was the first time that it officially became "Star Wars IV: A New Hope". Wait, what? IV? Like number 4? What's going on here? A year after that came "Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back" in 1980 and then we had to wait another 3 years for "Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi." And the rest, as they say, is history.
I was 17 on the day it opened at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. We stood in line for 4 hours to see it opening day. It was, like you said, INCREDIBLE! Nothing like it. When I was a waitress in Santa Cruz, CA., a group of regular carpenters came into the Denny's I was working every morning and got commissioned to go to the Bay area and begin building Lucas Film's Compound there. Also, in 1979 in N Hollywood I was an apt. manager and one of my tenants drew in the light saber swords in The Empire Strikes Back
Loved watching your reaction to the first three movies. Your complete innocence of all things Star Wars made it so much sweeter to watch. I was nine in 1977 and I wish I could watch it again for the very first time. Which I did vicariously through you. Thanks for the fun ride down memory lane!
I grew up watching this as a kid, then I started watching the animated clone wars and young Anakin is in that the whole way through and re-watching return of the Jedi and seeing his force ghost had me in tears. It hit so different, bloody beautiful. 😭
I must say of this trilogy, I remember loving this third film as a kid. As a grown man I still like it but I think the middle film, Empire strikes back, has become my favorite of this trilogy. Still all three films are good.
Same here. Return of the Jedi was my favorite as a kid, it was the first movie my father took me to. Over the years Empire Strikes Back has become my favorite though. Empire is just a better movie.
Empire is my favorite film also.I could be MISTAKEN,but,I believe this is the first sci-fi trilogy back in the 80s.Planer of the Apes film series came out during the late 60s,early 70s I believe.
@@stephenbaker5431 In the original version, Sebastian Shaw appeared as the Force Ghost of Anakin. He's the actor you see when Vader's helmet is removed. So there was that visual continuity. (I don't blame them for putting in Hayden Christiansen later, his face is much more well-known as Anakin now. I'm glad they've left Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan, though; much as I love Ewan McGregor in the role!)
I saw this in 1983 when I was 12 years old! The speed bike scene in the forest was just awesome on the big screen. It was great watching again with you! ❤️
So glad this won the poll on Patreon even if I did vote for Jerry Maguire. Liking early access. Glad you guys liked the Ewoks. Now you get to wait 16 years for Episode one:The Phantom Menace
Darth Vader's redemption is one of the most incredible stories I have ever seen in films. There at the end, you know it's all as much the story of Vader as it is the story of Luke and the others. It's been fantastic watching your reactions to these films! Loved them all! These are my favorite videos from you two!!!
Oooooh!!! You two!!! I'm thrilled at how much you've enjoyed the middle three movies - the three that started the whole thing, and legend of the "Star Wars" movies! I was a senior in high school in 1977 when the first movie (4th in the series) came out & I was mindblown. These three movies are amazing! So much happens in them. Princess Leia, and especially the actress Carrie Fisher, is still a heroine of mine. I've loved her both as an actress and as a person since 1977. The last three movies are great, too, but to me, these three, 1977 - Star Wars (later called Ep. 4 - A New Hope) truly started the whole franchise. I definitely recommend the last three as well, and in order. 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 2017, The Last Jedi, and ultimately 2019's The Rise of Skywalker. Coming from a fan since the original 1977 broadcast, YESSS!!! Eps 1, 2 & 3 give some more backstory to the whole storyline. If you only have for four three more, then I highly recommend the last three of the entire series, and especially 2017's The Last Jedi and 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, because the main characters are back with the same actors playing their roles. It's amazing to see these same actors 38+ years later. Carrie Fisher/Princess Leia is freaking AMAZING! She had already unexpectedly passed away in December, 2016 @ only 60 years old when the last of the entire series was to be filmed. Her daughter and only child, Billie Lourd, is in them, too. The movie ppl were able to work some scenes in with Carrie, even though she had already passed. It's stunning how well they worked old, unused footage in from the other movies and worked her character into the last two especially. The whole storyline is stunning! And I'm not going to say anything else because I don't want to spoil it. But I will say this. As much as Princess Leia rocks it in these, you haven't seen anything yet! - until the final trilogy. Woooohoooo!!! And it's a JOY experiencing watching these movies again with you two. Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you loved these movies so much. Please, if/when you can find the time, please react to the last three as well. I think you'll love how many of the characters from these three show up in the last three, with about 38+ years in between filming them. 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
If you guys are full on Star Wars fans now, I highly recommend "The Mandalorian" series on Disney+. There are only 8 episodes a season, anywhere from 38 to 58 minutes an episode. So you could react to three episodes at a time, just like a movie reaction. 😁 It was really cool watching you both get to know and love this trilogy. My only note is that Yoda was not done via CGI, so there is no change in the "graphics." Yoda was a puppet both in this movie and the last one. As for the order to watch in...I recommend Release Order. It really is the only way it makes sense (and even then, not as much sense as we would have liked). Episodes 1-3 are about Anakin Skywalker and his fall to the Dark Side, how he became Darth Vader and how Palpatine became the Emperor. Episodes 7-9 carry on the story with new characters, though each of our fave trio of Han, Leia, and Luke play a part in the story. Unfortunately, the director for episodes 7 and 9 and the one for episode 8 had WILDLY different ideas and takes on the story, and in the end they do not work very well together as a whole story, which is a shame. But, that's a judgement call, and I'm sure that a couple of people as positive as yourselves will find things to like, and I love to watch that positivity. Each of the 3 Star Wars trilogies is separated by 20-30 years in movie time, so sadly you are not going to get to see Leia become an awesome Jedi in the sequels. There was more planned for her in the last film, however, Carrie Fisher passed away after making Episode 8, so her part in Episode 9 had to be drastically rewritten in order to use footage of her that had already been filmed for the previous movies and had not been used yet.
I LOVED the Madalorian! And then comes Boba Fett! But after about the 5th one it got kinda stupid (to me)... still... what a ride and a journey they've taken us all on with this series. I was 17 and graduated high school in 1977 - that summer Star Wars opened - I went to see it 3 days after I graduated. Today, I'm 62 and still talking about Star Wars. In fact, I'm finishing my Ph.D. dissertation this month, and some of my references are about Star Wars' impact on our culture and future-creation over the last 50 years. They write doctoral studies about this franchise (Star Trek and the Lego Movie too! also, Noel Carroll and his study on The Philosophy of Horror)...
Yay!! Been waiting for this!! Love your reaction to the news of the twins and the “I know!” The culmination of good vs evil!! So cool to be able to watch them that quickly! It was so hard waiting years for the next movie to come out!!!
Always wonderful to seeing people start their Star Wars journry. Release order is the best order for the initial viewing. Rewatching is when numerical order can be done. A 3 year wait isn't terrible considering it was another 16 years after Return of the Jedi that the Phantom Menace was released.
@@monkeyzorr3090 Yea I saw it opening night back then, and I definitely left a bit disappointed. In the years since, I can appreciate parts of the film, but the Prequels are examples of why George needs help making his films.
I grew up with these movies and to see the younger generation enjoying these movies brings a joy to my heart. You two are beautiful people inside and out. I enjoy watching you guys live these movies.
Those teddy bears are Ewoks! They have their own movies too! And cartoon. I loved those! If you ever want to watch for fun the films are called: The Ewok Adventure, and Ewoks: Battle for Endor! I’ve used the word Lurdo sooooo many times in my life! Hahaha haha 😂
Awww, loved y'alls reaction to this movie! :D So sweet. The little teddy bear people are called Ewoks, and it's pronounced just how it's spelled (e-woks). The AT-ATs are the big things they wrapped cords around to trip in the second movie and threw rocks at in this movie. Lucas worked really hard to make his movies kid-friendly, which is why these movies have R2D2, Yoda, and Ewoks in them ... to show little people kids could relate to contributing to the success of this fight and that everyone is important (and they're super cute!). Such a positive message in this movie - love is the most powerful force in the universe! :)
Great reaction! Ewoks are the bravest warriors in the saga. If you like them there are 2 movies about them set in the star wars universe (i think). They are called " Caravan of curage " and "battle for Endor ". And I love them.
So cool to see someone new discover Star Wars! And about those sequels........please remember they were made MANY years after these original films, by completely different people in a very different era; I recommend you temper your expectations accordingly.
Yeah. The sequel trilogy they just released was a huge give up. The first one was great for us OGs and our memberberries, but that was it. The Solo movie and Rouge One were good. The Mandalorian is excellent. I'm hoping Disney is considering a reboot after seeing those successes and the reaction to this last trilogy
Hey Jay and Amber, first let me say this was a great reaction, I loved it! You showed the crucial parts to the movie just perfectly. Now, I am an avid Star Wars geek, so I wanted to talk about somethings, and I hope you don't mind. 1) If you remember in Empire, Yoda instructed Luke that the Force is used for knowledge and defense, never attack. Jabba's palace was a key example of this, right down to the smallest details. Luke got everyone into place for the battle which had to happen....AWAY from the palace as it would be too much of a home court advantage for Jabba. Luke had to get his saber in undetected....when R2 was scanned upon "capture" the lightsaber would have just appeared as more electronics and not caused any alarms, and the crystal in it could have been counted as many different things. This is also why when he was dropped into the Rancor's pit, he did everything he could to get away and not kill it, but in the end that was his last option. 2) During the EWOK "dinner" scene, Luke HAD to do something to save himself, yes, he could have used the force and freed himself and killed all the Ewoks, but that would not have been the Jedi way, so he just tricked them to letting his team go. 3) And this I would love to discuss, during Luke and Vader's battle, you two kept saying don't get angry. I believe this is taught wrong in my opinion; the idea is not to let the anger CONTROL you I believe tapping into it is not bad. But I am not a Jedi either. 4) And last point, that battle with Vader is what made Luke one bad ass dude, and made him such a legend after it, there were Imperial survivors of that Death Star, and what they would report is, they Saw Vader take Luke to the Emperor's chambers, a little while later, Luke was seen dragging an injured and soon to die Vader around the Death Star, and the Emperor was no longer to be seen afterwards. Again, great review.
Great reaction guys. The bit that chokes me up is when Luke says about saving his father and Anakin replies with 'You already have Luke'. Fun fact. The first Ewok we see is played by an 11 year old Warwick Davies who went on to play Professor Flitwick in the Harry Potter movies. I hope you react to the prequels. Keep up the awesome work. 👍
Great reaction, imagine if you went into this not knowing Vader was Lukes father like everyone else. One of the biggest surprises in movie history. I do love that you guys had know idea Leia was his sister, that twist was fun to see you react too. The next 3 aren't as good, but I enjoyed them overall. Hope you watch them soon.
Star Wars never gets old! When you guys are ready for another feel good movie, try MASK from the 80s with Cher, Sam Elliot (the guy from tombstone with the buttery voice) you get a true story and it’s just great all around I’m sure you guys would love it…not to be confused with THE mask with Jim Carrey which is also good but for different reasons entirely lol ✌💚🌻✨💛
When you watch the prequels, episodes 1-3, they are Anakins/Vader's story as much as these 3 movies are Luke's story. You will learn how he became Vader. Why he must wear the suit or die, and why Obi-Wan is so central to the story.. Finally they give a more thorough explanation of how the force works and the differences between the Sith and the Jedi. Also you will learn who Luke and Leia's mother is. Finally the true nature of the Emperor will slowly be revealed as well as what happened to the Jedi Knights. So another several movies worth of stories and two epic light saber battles ever were in them. They are basically doing full on parkour in the duel in episode 1. The films are much better from a technological and world building aspect but not as strong with personality developnent. They get more grief, a bit unfairly IMO but not totally so by critics. Don't watch the sequels (7-9) until you've seen the prequels as you may get confused with plot points. I won't comment on the sequels here so as not to prejudice you. But I would urge you to watch Rouge One before watching the sequels as it has direct ties to Episode 4. I'm almost jealous. Lol
Im sure I know you stance on the sequels and its all good. I think they should watch them and make their own opinion. Who knows they make like it and that's okay. Every is entitled to their own opinion. Rogue One was a great spin-off and I can't wait for Andor next Wednesday.
@@RebelGaming4U Yeah a lot of the sites seem to be prejudging Andor but after seeing the trailers I can't figure out why. It genuinely looks interesting and seems to be an untold, except in cartoon version, side of the Rebellion. They can build off some of the characters from Rogue One as well as Rebels, even some characters from the Clone Wars series.
Forever my favorite Star Wars. This movie still has the best space battle I've ever seen on screen. It still looks incredible and most of the time better than anything that's come out since
I love that the Emperor inspires so much fear, even after all these years. It shows how powerful Vader and the Emperor are in storytelling. And the moment you all said "Darth Vader? Turn good? No way," and all the folks who already knew were just all smirking and waiting for the moment to arrive. Funny thing about the Falcon was that it was originally part of a cargo ship setup. It's been modified a lot. I remember someone once saying that the Millenium Falcon is like souped up 18 wheeler. 🤣 Fun bit of trivia: the Ewoks were originally meant to be Wookies (like Chewie) but budget constraints led to the Ewoks.
How did Jabba the Hutt become so powerful? Based on the writings/books about the Star Wars universe... Jabba the Hutt (and the entire Hutt species) are INCREDIBLY long-lived... typically just out-living their competition, gathering up social & underground political power amongst the criminal elite. They don't grow to THAT enormous a mass until they are significantly older... but imagine a race of "snakes with arms" who are immune to Jedi telepathy and other such "powers" in this galaxy. Simply living longer than everyone else in the criminal organization ensures that you'll move "up the ranks" eventually if you're a smart, loyal soldier
I love watching your reaction to movies and music! This movie WAS A MONSTER EVENT when it was first released in 1983!! Of course, the franchise had a HUGE fan base when its trailer was set forth in late 1982. The theaters were allowed to have a "midnight showing" (early morning May 25th of 1983) on a 'first come first served basis'. My brother, a mutual friend and I got to the theater, ( the Edens theatre Northbrook, Illinois) which basically filled the greater portion of a city block, at about 8:15 PM. We joined our place in line, which at that time was 3/4 of the way around the theater!! Needless to say, that amount of hard-core fans had INTENSE reactions to the high points and low points of the movie. The groans when the battles, both on the ground and in space, turned for the Empire to the UPROARIOUS CHEERS when Vader grabbed the Emperor and threw him over the railing! You would have thought that roof was going to come off of the place!!! And of course, the heavy silence during the scene where Luke helps his father, Anakin, remove his helmet. To me, these movies show the power of hatred and regret and selfishness and greed that can propel human beings to commit terrible acts upon one another AND these movies demonstrate the power of hope and compassion and mercy and unity that can propel human beings forward to great things. I love you two and I hope and pray that you and your family are well and whole and sound. God Bless you and all here!
Sure was. I saw it in the theaters at age 11. There are a handful of movies i vividly remember watching. Even recall the sounds and smells in the theater. Saw it again a week later and was blessed to have seen it again 4-5 years ago at the New York philharmonic to a live orchestra. Other movies i recall watching ET Back to the Future Last crusade Temple of Doom
Hey guys. Have loved your reactions to the original trilogy. I saw these in the cinema when I was a kid and they blew my mind. I am still a huge Star Wars fan to this day. So now you need to start with the prequels and see how Anakin became Vader. May the force be with you, always. From Paul in the UK.
Loved your reactions to the OT!! Glad you loved them like I did. I am stepping out now if you do anymore, as there is only the OT in my mind, but what ever path you take I wish you both the best! (To be clear I just mean more Star Wars reactions, I will be be here for your other movies.)
32:40 That was a common theme in filmmaking in the 80s, to make the audience root for the "underdog". Many movies made back then were all about the hero character that rose above the insurmountable odds stacked against them, and triumphing over a formidable antagonist character(s). It was actually brilliant filmmaking which they do not seem to do anymore.
Besides the 9 movies, there are other stand alone movies like Solo and Rogue one, plus the Disney + TV series, animated Clone wars movie, clones wars series, the bad batch series, rebels series, Mandalorian seires, Book of Bobba Fett, Obi-Wan Kanobi, Andor and Ashoka. Explain all for the Disney Cannon for Star Wars all of the in between.
"I've got to save you"
"You already have"
Possibly the best lines in the trilogy.
don't you go making me cry again...
Seeing Anakin as a force ghost is what got me crying the way he looked at yoda and obi wan and smiled got me in the feels
@@generalanakinskywalker Agreed. The original Anakin, not the Hayden Christiansen insert Anakin, though. ;)
You forgot the “Luke” at the end. First time he’s called is son by his name
THIS is the best comment I've read in a long while.
Their commentary on Palpatine's machinations made me think they need to watch the prequels immediately.
And the idea that the Empire was undermined by the primitive population of an occupied world was the intent of George Lucas' interpretation of the Vietnam War and the consequences the US endured as a result.
Yes and not only that but picking up on the Emperor’s knowledge and foresight shows how well they were paying attention to the story.
Nam reference
Everyone who ever watched star wars knew the emperor forseen things. He says stuff multiple times. Then they happen in return of the jedi. Only takes common sense!
“That boy gotta fish head’’ made me spit out my bourbon. 🤣
I always like that subtle bit of acting by Carrie Fisher on the shuttle when Luke says Vader's on that ship. The look says she senses something too, even if she doesn't quite understand it.
The beginnings of her force-sensitivity, but she chose a different path in life, never studied the Jedi ways.
Rest in peace Sir Alec Guiness(Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi), Kenny Baker(R2-D2), Carrie Fisher(Leia Organa), Peter Mayhew(Chewbacca), David Prowse(Darth Vader), Bob Anderson(Darth Vader), Sebastian Shaw(original Anakin Skywalker), and Jeremy Bulloch(Boba Fett). Gone, but not forgotten.
And now James Earl Jones as well. Rest in peace.
Caravan of Courage, Battle of Endor , ewok films, Wicket the best
Murder bears...🤣🤣🤣🔥
Wicket and Willow...awesome!!!
And Warwick is a great presenter of the quiz Tenable on British tv
Murder bears 🤣
I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. It brought me back to 1983, when I was ten years old, seeing this movie in the theater for the first time. When Vader saved Luke by grabbing the Emperor and throwing him down the shaft, the entire audience leaped to its feet and roared. An amazing experience back then. And I think if you two had been with us back in 83, you'd have been on your feet, too!
It's crazy how much joy it brings me watching someone discover the magic of Star Wars!
It feels like i’m watching it again for the first time trough their eyes.
"The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am"
My favorite Vader line. His sarcasm is always on point!
Just don't apologize😰
"Apology accepted, Captain Needa."
Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, director
Perhaps you think you're being treated... Unfairly
Agreed.
I'm easily up around 1,000 times watching the original trilogy. The second probably 100 or 200 the third 2 or 3
Exactly my feeling.
Me too!
Don't forget the amazing Rogue One too
yes thats true 42years waiting i´m now almost 47 some of the new movies are not that great but i love the 9th one so much :)
Why don’t you share that story with all of us?😌🙏
Loved, loved this reaction! When you both found out about Leia being Luke’s sister was absolutely priceless!
We all reacted that way!
I've enjoyed your reactions so so much! Next up to see are episodes 1-3, which show us how the Empire came to be and how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. Eps 1-3 have different tone and stuff from 4-6, but I think you'll enjoy the story all the same!
Agree
Episodes 1-3 are next. They explain how Vader came to be. ENJOY!!!
different tone as in discordant pool😊
Yup, show don't tell... Mark Hammil was Luke
the deep chorus at that part is so moving
Yes. Even when Luke turns himself in, he and Vader exchange words, and then Vader is left in the hallway by himself, alone. He doesn't have to say a thing. The camera and his posture show us he's conflicted, and chewing on Luke's words: "Then my father is truly dead...."
They knew how to tell stories back then. Nowadays there would be full paragraphs of exposition to explain what Vader is thinking in that moment.
And it's also that loss of his hand and recognizing that if he keeps following the path he is going right now, he'll become what his father is.
@@kinagrill Yes indeed, the pivotal moment.
Just imagine how people of my generation felt. We had to wait "years" in between the Star Wars releases. 😄
*I do love watching you guys discover it tho. It takes me right back to how I felt my first time seeing them.
Yes we did Robert and we were just kids. Imagine kids today having to wait 3 YEARS!!! 😳
Exxxxactly... we had to wait *years*!
And we had to go to a theater to watch them! But to see them on a big screen is priceless.
Waiting 3 years to find out what happened to Han as a kid, being a role model to me (father died when I was young age) was a reeeeally painful wait!
1977 to 1983
I’m an OG Star Wars fan, from 1977 onward.
Thanks for sharing!
Redemption - ultimately that’s why we all love Vaders story arc. There is hope for all of us. Great Reaction!
Which is what Disney execs failed to realize and completely trampled in the travesty that followed
I had some Ewok action figures that I loved.
The Ewoks got their own spin-off cartoon too.
100000000% agree with everything you just said.
Sorry but get real. You have to watch it in the way it was released. That order is non-sensical.
"There is another, Skywalker", still gives chills.

I'm so pleased no one spoiled you on the other Skywalker. Your reaction was priceless and mirrored pretty much all of us in the theatre as we watched it unfold.

Also watch Solo and Rebels!
actually if you really think about it Vader wasn't really trying to strike down Luke.
“He cut off his hand the first time he met him!” 😂 Amber 😂 Love your guys’ reactions! 💗
I love these movies, but watching this with you two made my whole weekend!! So fun to experience this for the first time with you.
Boba Fett was extremely popular but only had maybe less than 5 minutes of screen time before being eaten by the sarlacc ("sand worm").
This is the good Star Wars with the original cast. If you like these you should watch Space Balls you will laugh all the way through. Please do Willow , Labyrinth ( David Bowie) Never Ending Story Told you Jay you would get a light Sabre . So great to see you joined the force.
MAY DA SCHWARTZ BE WITCH YA
Definitely 😂🤣
Wicket Ewok (the first one that met Leia) was played by Warwick Davis, the one that played Willow! I've loved all the Star Wars, but this one (Return of the Jedi) is my favorite!
Labyrinth would be cool haven't seen that since I was a kid almost forgot it existed
The looks on your faces when you realized that Leia was Luke's sister was priceless. It mirrored all of us when we figured it out for the first time.
Then after that we remember the kiss in Empire Strikes Back they had lol
@@DjOdyssey1971 Well it was short and they didn't open their mouths or use tongue, so it's not so bad 😆

watching your channel is like reliving my childhood in a great why.
I emphatically second this comment
Throw some Galaxy Quest in there while your at it!
yes Spaceballs must come after this one
They need to see Alien first.
Guys I love this!!!! Amber asked where to go from here.
The prequels!!! Star Wars Episode 1, 2,3
It tells how all this came to be
Rogue One too, which I love very much
Loved it! The next are the pre sequels! Episode 1 2 3! Darth as a boy! How he became who he is.. Can't wait to share it and seeing you react to it! Order of release is the best way!!
It's garbage. Don't watch.
The original trilogy is the only one that stands up.
@@MattSmith-il4tc I'm with you. I don't like 123 and I don't like the recent ones as much either.
Rob: "Is that Princess Leia?" Fantastic call!
Brilliant video guys! Really enjoyed your genuine reactions.
Please watch Episodes 1-3 next to see how Anakin became Vader.
The new trilogy is not so good, but Rogue One is fantastic (it ends just before a New Hope)
Rogue 1 is Epic
Why the spoiler. They never watched them and Anakin becoming Vader is a great reaction for those who have no knowledge of it
@@theworldofron2712 they plainly say in this movie that Anakin is Vader. That's not a spoiler at all
@@theworldofron2712 Its literally said during these movies that Anakin is Darth Vader and Lukes father. How can it be a spoiler?
No... stop now! None of the other movies are worth a darn.
It's pretty hard to overstate the impact this trilogy had on those of us that grew up in the 80s.....
...and the 90's
@@breezymango4113 unfortunately not this generation of sequels
Unfortunately Disney came into the picture and screwed the whole thing up. But you're right this trilogy, Rocky, Rambo, missing in action and so many more movies that our generation was blessed with are part of what helped us become the men and women that we are today.
@@WadePenley Don't you know? Acolyte episode 3 is the "real" Star Wars you bigot! :P
I agree. This is the first time I saw this ending with the original actor being removed, and I think that it's a shame.
@@mhill781
I don't think it works replacing Shaw with Christiansen, because (in my view) the second Vader picks up the Emperor, he's redeemed and becomes Anakin again, so his force ghost should be as he was at the time of his death.
Vader finally says 'No,' and takes a stand, and we all cheer 'YES!'
Always amazing to see someone else fall into this wonderful universe.
Now its time to watch the prequel trilogy;
The Phantom Menace, The Attack of the Clones & The Revenge of the Sith.... this trilogy gives you the history of Darth Vader & Obi Wan.....

This one ties for second with "Revenge of the Sith", for my favorite movies in the whole Star Wars saga.
I love watching y’all!
Also, in 1979 in N Hollywood I was an apt. manager and one of my tenants drew in the light saber swords in The Empire Strikes Back
And Lucas pulled that totally out of his ass....(pardon my French)...the "plan" he had for the 9 films...
I cant imagine how many times I watched it as a kid, prob my favourite overall. But yes Empire has a better feel to it
Empire is my favorite film also.I could be MISTAKEN,but,I believe this is the first sci-fi trilogy back in the 80s.Planer of the Apes film series came out during the late 60s,early 70s I believe.
2 of my best friends were having a fight in their seating and i was just ignoring them coz i was watching Return of the Jedi🤣🤣
Anakin’s force ghost hits you in the feels so much more when you rewatch after seeing the prequel trilogy and the clone wars series
Or if it was just the original one
yep. here too. seemed sappy at the time, but not this time.
Yes..I thought they would've watched the Prequel Trilogy first!
They put his image into this after the 3rd chapter was released. The original 1983 movie had a different image.
Enjoyed the genuine surprise of Leia’s secret and also, Yes! the synchronized head hopping to the Imperial March was very funny and great! 😁
I saw this in 1983 when I was 12 years old! The speed bike scene in the forest was just awesome on the big screen. It was great watching again with you! ❤️

Darth Vader's redemption is one of the most incredible stories I have ever seen in films. There at the end, you know it's all as much the story of Vader as it is the story of Luke and the others.
It's been fantastic watching your reactions to these films! Loved them all! These are my favorite videos from you two!!!
And then in the first three films you get to see a Darth Vader who can't act to save his life and who could really care what the happens to him
Oooooh!!!
There was more planned for her in the last film, however, Carrie Fisher passed away after making Episode 8, so her part in Episode 9 had to be drastically rewritten in order to use footage of her that had already been filmed for the previous movies and had not been used yet.
definitely the Mandalorian..
And what a let down that piece of crap was
@@monkeyzorr3090 Yea I saw it opening night back then, and I definitely left a bit disappointed. In the years since, I can appreciate parts of the film, but the Prequels are examples of why George needs help making his films.

You put a smile on my face watching the Star Wars movies. You grasp the joy of this series 😊

I never really gave you last point much thought but that makes heaps of sense.
Next 3 are better.
The reveal of Vader & Luke's relation was in the previous movie.
@@jp3813 I Know
I have SO been enjoying these movie reactions. Keep it up - and may the Force be with you!!
Lol
i loved Rogue One and was amazed as to how it tied the back story into SW ep. 4 at the end!
Rogue One is one of the best of the Star Wars movies.
The last one where Annekin becomes Vader... my favorite. Can't wait for these two to check it out!
Forever my favorite Star Wars. This movie still has the best space battle I've ever seen on screen. It still looks incredible and most of the time better than anything that's come out since
Rogue One's space battle is pretty high on my list.
Fun bit of trivia: the Ewoks were originally meant to be Wookies (like Chewie) but budget constraints led to the Ewoks.
Compound Interest, too.
Ive always thought of Jabba as being similar to a member of the Mafia
De wanna wanga.
The Hutts are so powerful that they build their own mini death stars at one point in the books (if I'm remembering correctly).
@@RexFuturi Horrible plotline. Ever glad Disney axed it. Gave General Madine a pointless death by kamikaze.
It's so cool seeing your reaction to this! I saw Return of the Jedi THREE TIMES on it's opening day in 1983!
I saw this in the cinema when it came out, it has stood the test of time. Such a great story.
Gave me chills seeing vaders shuttle land with his theme playing! 😍😍
Other movies i recall watching
ET
Back to the Future
Last crusade
Temple of Doom
I get you there. I had a friend in school (8th grade...I'm old) who had "Revenge of the Jedi" stickers and merch and was very upset the title changed.
That original 'Revenge of the Jedi' merch is probably worth a small fortune today.
Hey guys. Have loved your reactions to the original trilogy. I saw these in the cinema when I was a kid and they blew my mind. I am still a huge Star Wars fan to this day. So now you need to start with the prequels and see how Anakin became Vader. May the force be with you, always. From Paul in the UK.
And great reaction by the way. Love how you guy fell in love with he characters and learned the ships/characters so fast (the falcon) etc.
Loved your reactions to the OT!! Glad you loved them like I did. I am stepping out now if you do anymore, as there is only the OT in my mind, but what ever path you take I wish you both the best! (To be clear I just mean more Star Wars reactions, I will be be here for your other movies.)
"The old guy from Field of Dreams" was also the voice of "Mufasa" from The Lion King. 🦁
James Earl Jones...
Hearing them refer to Jones as "The old guy from Field of Dreams" was kind of cringy.
And not until the third movie
