I've never been a fan of salad, especially with American's unhealthy salad dressings. After watching this video, I've been making and eating this dish a few times a week. I can't enough of it. Thank you so much for this wonderful video and your great smile, Amy!
Wonderful! I'm happy to hear that my Thai Beef Salad has become your favorite over the past two years! Thank you for trying out the recipe and sending some good vibes all the way from Germany 🙏

I have made this dish many times with T bone steak and it’s delicious... and I love how Amy forgets to put in the chilli... but what the hey, no need for retakes... it’s a real kitchen!
You got that right - we never do retakes 🙏 We have had to reshoot entire videos but only because of bad weather or noise pollution. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment

Thanks for watching the video! Nothing beats serving up a refreshing Yam Neua, or Thai spicy beef salad to friends and family on a hot summers day. Its savory combination of crispy fresh vegetables, tangy dressing and tender beef has made this dish a weekend favorite with our Thai family. You have to try it!
I like the way you made the video short and sharp and in great detail of cooking time and ingredients with the ratio. Just found you and just subscribed. Have a nice day!
Aw you are too sweet. Thank you very much for your positive feedback. I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos and please do feel free to feedback when you try my other recipes at www.worldofthaifood.com
Hi Lisa! Yam Neua is so refreshing on a hot day - its perfect to pre-pack for a day on the beach. Thanks for your feedback. I've added Som Tum Thai/Lao to our shooting schedule!
Thank You for watching, and for subscribing to World of Thai Food! This recipe is so so good! Go pick up a nice piece of tenderloin at the local butcher and you're good to go - Easy to make and delicious!
Hi again, haha nope. I don’t use roasted rice powder in my Yum Neua. I know some people like to add it but it’s not really common place where I’m from (southern Thailand). I do however add a lot in my Nam Tok 😋 or Laab 🙏
This looks like the most authentic Thai style ยำเนื้อ tutorial I have seen. Other videos on the internet seem to change things so that it's not traditional Thai flavor any more. I understand how sometimes it gets changed to adapt to Western tastes... but this recipe is absolutely the real deal! Now I can make it myself and use top quality beef for an even more amazing salad! Thanks so much for sharing. By the way... is the "seasoning soy sauce" ซีอิ๊วขาว? sih-eew kow? Also, I vote you should put Singha beer in your videos instead next time... It's the best quality beer of Thailand for over 85 years (The beer of Thai Kings and the only one allowed to have the Royal Seal right on the bottle)! เบียร์สิงห์ เบียร์ไทย
yeeowww Thank you very much for recognizing the authenticity of my channel and recipes. It is my goal exactly to provide a no compromises authenticity when it comes to ingredients and process while also showing how easy it is to acquire the right taste and balance when done correctly. I leave the choice of cut of beef to individual preference and availability. I use seasoning soy sauce, ซีอิ๊วปรุงรส (See-Eiw Proong Rod), for Yam Neua. I think it has more interesting character than light soy sauce ซีอิ๊วขาว (See-Eiw Khao). Singha is an amazing beer that I can definitely feature it in future videos. Choosing beer to food is not dissimilar to wine pairing and it’s always fun to combine and test different alternatives. Chang was my preference 🍺 but it would work just as well with Singh. Thanks for engaging in the comments section and have a spicy day!
Very nice tutorial, also one of the few that doesn't use mint in the dish. Is it traditional without mint ? The mint is ok if you eat the dish immediatly, but after one day, the mint give's a bad taste to the dish, so i will definitly try this version !! Kind regards ! Bart (Belgium)
Bart De Pauw In the South of Thailand we traditionally don’t use mint in this dish. Like with most famous Thai foods there are many regional variations - add to that the fact that every family have their own version. This is how we make it in my household. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Thanks for watching and engaging in the comments section 🙏

A H a bit unorthodox to mix coriander/cilantro and mint(!) from a Thai perspective but as long as you enjoy it you can add anything 🙏 thanks for watching
Marla Carrera-Raleigh hi! I don’t recall exactly what I used in this video but any good quality cooking oil will do. When cooking a nice cut of beef I’d normally use butter but that doesn’t go well with Thai cuisine where we traditionally use oil. Thanks for watching 🙏
Yam Neua / Thai beef salad should never include toasted rice powder. I believe you are mistaking this dish for Nam Tok. Here’s a link to my recipe video. Enjoy. th-cam.com/video/W1lb0mJTSD0/w-d-xo.html
Hi David! Thanks for your comment and for watching my video. Actually, in Thailand, we use a type of large shallot called 'Hom Kaek,' which is commonly known as the Indian Shallot. It might look similar to a western red onion, but it has a slightly different taste and texture. Hom Kaek are milder than red onions and have a slightly sweet taste that adds a unique flavor to dishes like beef salad. I apologize if my use of the term 'shallot' was confusing, and I hope this clears things up. However, if you don't have access to Hom Kaek, you can use a red onion instead. Keep in mind that red onion has a slightly stronger taste, so I recommend slicing it thinly to get a well-balanced taste in this beef salad recipe. I hope this helps. Enjoy cooking!
@@WorldofThaiFood Thank you for the detailed explanation, but I still don't understand, may be because the 'hom kaek' only can find in Thailand and I never see it before and can't compare to the normal red onion(and maybe there are still have a lot of variety of red onion in the world🤣), anyway, keep it up to create more delicious food videos💪
