I do think it is a myth that every woman needs a trenchcoat in her wardrobe. They make you look bulky and when you belt them you look like a badly-wrapped parcel. I should know - I have owned two Burberrys in my lifetime but I ended up giving them away. I don't think they look elegant at all. Nobody ever mentions the A-line single breasted raincoat that has a simple line and raglan sleeves. In my opinion it is more flattering to the figure and the raglan sleeves are more roomy for a thick sweater underneath.
I think it depends on your body type. For medium to tall women they look fantastic but you do have to have length to accommodate the coat with a sash...if you do, wow! If not, you are a parcel

Interesting. I wore Animal print in my 20s, I will not wear it now. I'm more of a stripe person now. Your trench look is exactly what I wear lol :) I have a giant faux fox coat that is hilarious and really works for when you need a statement. I dont wear skirts but I get what you are saying about their uses. Strappy sandals are not me really. I don't really do heels but I get the strappy part. I will have to investigate this. No jumpsuits, they do not flatter me in the least. As an Hermes silk addict, I'm all in with that :) I feel I'm in the right place. Thanks for the interesting info!

I must beg to differ about all of this. I never wear black, so black boots would just collect dust in my wardrobe. The classic trenchcoat would interfere with my cycling, I hate myself in beige and I never wear a belt, because I’d rather not emphasise my thickest part. My mother loved wearing black all the time I knew her, but when she turned grey (very late in life) she leaned more heavily on lighter colours and choose a light to mid greys because they achieved a less harsh contrast. If there is fashion rule at all it is to always adjust your wardrobe to your looks. And there comes a time in every woman’s life when colouring her hair in too dark a shade is no longer flattering. I once heard a woman say, how happy she was, because her hairdresser had managed over a timespan of more than a year had helped her to turn first blonde and then gradually leave out the blond. I saw her when she was all grey and it looked great on her. When I was young I could get away with a salmon coloured shirt, now this would wash me out completely. We need to find out which colours are good for us, we need to find out which shapes flatter us. If we want to stay healthy we will use backpacks for carrying heavy loads instead of hanging them all off one shoulder or one arm. Or at least try cross body. It may be more difficult to dress according to guidelines instead of rules, but it may be more rewarding. Take the blazer. If you have to wear one for work you are probably in high end retail or service, finance etc. At my place of work only the bosses wear blazers, but only when they have meetings with higher ups. If you love a blazer fine, but I bet you take it off when you drive or type. I have not worn a blazer since the 90s. Don’t get me wrong! Wear blazer as much as you like, I’m just saying than unless your job requires it, you don’t need one.
A blazer always pulls a look together. They spell sophistication and refinement. They add warmth in the cooler months. In Italy you do not step outside without one. Unless it is a very hot day.

But many of us want to look elegant and polished. My blazers are in beautiful summer weight merino wool, light as air. No problem wearing them in summer.
Post fifty, one cannot go wrong with classics, most importantly ,if,one has taken good care of her figure, hair, skin, etc.. they grow old so gracefully, & elegantly,, .....

The mic should be as close as possible to the source of the sound, to minimize distortion. The audio quality on this video is not terrible, but your accented English requires more clarity for this American to understand.
