Great video.. couple of question I have.. did you experience any AMS issue during your trek because of the very high altitude? did you take any mountain sickness medicines before the trek for preventive measurements? If you can advise on this topic that would be great, I want to visit Tapovan soon.
Thank you for your question. I have not felt any Mountain Sickness. But my wife felt. You can carry Coca-30 and take from 1 day before of Trekking. You also can take Diamox Tablet with you for that. No separate permit required. Permit will be given as per your requirement if weather is suitable. Last check post is in Bhojbasa. If you have Tapovan permit and weather is suitable then forest guard will give you permission to ride on cable car.
Probably Forest Guards of Bhojbasa would not allow you to ride on cable car and Guide will also not do that. In case of us, we had Tapovan permit. But Forest Guards did not allow us to ride on cable car because of bad weather in Tapovan and missing of a person in Tapovan.
Which time you want to go? All depends on weather condition. If you can reach Bhojbasa, then I think there will be no problem to reach Gaumukh. Mainly rainy season, April, Early May and late October are problamatic times.

For Solo trekkers guide is compulsory. I think June is the perfect time to visit Gaumukh if not October.
