you are now in for the best musical ride of your life.... Dig deep here and listen because tool is not just music, it's an experience. next you need to do Right in Two, and Descending. This band is comprised of four of the greatest at their craft in our lifetime. Basically four different songs playing well enough together to sound great. The drummer, Danny Carey, can play four different tempos, one with each limb. He would do five, but not with his pants on. Tool is its own genre.

Tool is musically amazing. They dont have a bad song and they will give you a new perspective and appreciation for music. I was introduced to Tool in highschool in the late 90's and have always thought they created their own rock genre. No one like them.

Honestly, there aren't a whole lot of quality live TOOL videos online, but if you want to do one, I would highly recommend doing "Sober" from the '93 Reading Festival. That song was TOOL's first "hit" single and that live performance is something special. Maynard does an amazing job of getting into character for it. I would also say that TOOL does an especially good job of reproducing their studio sound in their live performances. As others have said, you should really go down that TOOL rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed!

Welcome! Getting the lyrics up or on the side is super important. Unlike most other bands Tool often mixes vocals, drums, guitar, and bass equally, so newbies feel like they can't hear Maynard singing. But actually, they're hearing the instruments on par with the vocals.
Listening chronologically is the best. It sets you up better for trippy head stuff in later albums. You want to "Sweat" and "Crawl Away" before you become "Invincible."

If you are gonna throw your headphones every time you hear a banger, You might wanna put a few pairs on backorder if you are gonna take the Tool Journey. This is gonna be an expensive ride. LOL
The lyric videos are a must, you missing out otherwise, fyi the official videos can distract from fully appreciating the music
The lyric videos also distract on the first listen. Tool is all about incorporating the vocal performance within the whole of the song rather than on top of the music. so first listen must be done as a whole. But after that… definitely check the lyrics! Works of art on their own too!

LIKED AND SUBBED. Tool is the greatest rabbit hole of all time bro. I suggest reading the lyrics ahead of time but to focus on the music when you’re listening. Tool can be hard to follow for some due to their odd time signatures (beats) and they’re multiple rhythms and Melodie’s going on at the same time but they are amazing. They’re lyrics and songs are very cryptic and or poetic and are more of a listening experience or even meditative trance like experience than just music you jam on the regular. I suggest next you do VICARIOUS or LATERALUS!
